《This Kitty has guns》Prologue

"People are overreacting, this meteor shower will be no different from the others..."
*BOOOM*
With a few tossed grenades the radio was silenced as security room got wrecked by the explosion.
Actually, the lower floors were already rigged with powerful explosives and the whole skyscraper will go down once I'm finished there, but... I don't want any camera footages to survive by a stroke of luck. My father probably has the influence to take care even of that, but as a good daughter, I should avoid creating more troubles for him. He already doesn't approve of my... hobby... I just want to strike his enemies from the shadows. I am not an assassin, just a guardian removing the cause of danger directly.
While happily humming my favorite melody I then checked remaining ammo.
Hmm, ten bullets. From what I saw on monitors, they have three guards remaining. If we assume two or three more are hiding somewhere, plus the target... yes, more than enough. As expected of me, my calculation was perfect. I could always just use the guns of the fallen, but I like when my predictions are right on spot.
*
On the way to the office, I glanced through the window and noticed one star cross the sky, then another. Hmm, wasn't meteor shower supposed to start a few hours later? My gaze then shifted down, even from the thirtieth floor, I could clearly see streets miles away.
So far there was no sign of a police. Good.
I jammed the whole building to prevent a call for help, but I personally know a few methods how to bypass that, it's not that impossible for someone in the building to know as well. Let's just hope no one shows up during the fireworks.
The plan was to jump from a rooftop with a parachute, press a button and voila - one less shitty company in our world.
*
With a loud bang, the door to the office was wide open and the place I was just a moment ago was mangled with many bullets, but... I was already two meters away to the side. I shot two guards, then with a quick lean avoided a few bullets aimed at my head. With a few more shots of my own, another guard fell down and the main target of the evening started screaming while holding remains of his mutilated hand.
Dodging bullets is actually easy, you don't even need insane speed to do that. We, humans, have this stupid habit to finish moves we already started, be it a fist swing, a sword... or even a gun. In case of a gun we aim, stop, and then pull the trigger. When we do that, we make no further changes to the direction of a gun, even if the target is no longer there. Plenty of time to get away from the line of sight.
"Have you any idea who are you messing with?!" shouted the now one-armed man as I looked around, "You are dead!"

I couldn't sense anyone else nearby, but just in case checked with a scanner on my hand. No hidden guards? When I checked monitors in the security room earlier, I saw a few nice spots I could hide, and now that I am here, even four more, but surprisingly those three were the last guards.
"Of course I know who you are Mr. Horton," I answered while removing my mask, "After two visits of your 'friends', it would be hard to not, don't you think?"
All cameras in the vicinity were no longer working and my scanner didn't detect any other recording devices in the proximity.
The reason why I bothered with security room was because I entered the building in casual clothes with a bag over a shoulder. If said records survived my planned demolition, with a masked intruder later appearing from the ladies room, it would be obvious who I am.
"Rebecca?!" the man recognized me immediately and the face lost all the color.
"That's me." I replied with a smile and with a gun aimed at his head slowly walked closer, "You did a good job by choosing the timing for those assassination attempts. After first, I truly believed it was Delgado who was behind it. Who could have guessed it was just you all along. Half-year has already passed after your brother became a eunuch and all this time you stayed nice and quiet... not that you could do much with the power and influence of my father... Is this why you waited all this time for someone equally powerful to pick a fight with him? Even if the plan failed our eyes would be directed at them and not on you..."
I know I should just kill him already and be done with it. But I always wanted to do this villain talk from the movies. Usually what I am doing now is just asking for trouble, but... nothing could go wrong for me at this point. The building below was clear, and with the guy in my sight, I could dodge anything.
"And did you expect anything else after what you did to my brother?!" shouted Horton.
"Please. He had it coming long before me," I replied, "You should know him better than anyone. It was only a matter of time before he pissed someone he shouldn't and..."
I was unable to finish as suddenly the whole building was shaken by a loud explosion and for a split second, I even lost my footing.
Horton used this as a chance to grab his weapon with his left hand, but I shot him three times before he could do that. Two bullets to the head and one to a heart... just one would be enough to do the job, but I was startled by the explosion. Talk about 'nothing can go wrong'. When I was about to look behind me to see what was the cause of that earlier explosion, the office ahead of me suddenly vanished... along with my arm holding the gun.

After spinning in the air from an unknown force that ripped off my hand, I landed on the floor. I was just ten centimeters away from the edge of the abyss that once was a part of the office. I quickly ordered my muscles to squeeze blood vessels to prevent even more blood loss, and at the same time started the process of healing my wounds.
And yet when I tried to stand, a part of the floor collapsed and I slid outside the building.
*
The world around me started to spin and I found myself in the air. I quickly reached for a pull and opened the parachute. Unfortunately, it was damaged by debris when I slid earlier and no longer worked as intended.
'If I survive this, I swear, I will never do this villain talk'.
With a loud bang, I crashed into a car standing outside the building and the remains of a parachute covered my body shortly. While it hasn't operated as intended it still managed to slow me down enough to survive.
Legs were broken in at least a few places, and the only remaining arm was in a similar predicament, lungs were pierced by my own ribs and the rest of organs were in a terrible condition from the fall.
But I was alive.
I looked up and finally could see the reason for this disaster - a meteor shower.
Mostly it was just a pretty show of falling stars all over the sky, but occasionally one large meteor would crash here or there, causing the destruction. Two large holes now decorated the building I was inside just a moment ago.
I closed my eyes and concentrated on regeneration.
I stopped inner bleedings and then forced ribs from the lungs using various muscles of the body, at the same time I was also working on closing the holes. I haven't even bothered with the missing arm for now. Regrowing it will be a long and tedious process and I had neither the time nor nutrients for that now.
Fixing broken bones might take a while, but it shouldn't be more than ten minutes, torn muscles on another hand should be possible to restore just in a few. To speed up the process I also completely ignored my only remaining arm as the legs were a priority now.
If not for my full body control though, I would probably be a goner now, and yet, the initial condition, that most would probably write as a lost cause, was stabilized already, and if everything goes well I should be able to walk away shortly.
Ten years ago my father has taught me some basics of body control, which was a part of martial arts training, but... I wasn't satisfied with the results. I worked on it tirelessly since then, seeking perfection, I even used the supercomputer of our company to research it even further. By the way, that thing alone takes a space of a few floors. It was only a few years ago that I finally mastered the full control over the body... it was nothing like the basic control father has taught at the beginning.
Regeneration, growing the muscles without lifting a finger, stopping the heart when want to pretend dead... so many options become viable and all of it was possible to achieve just with a thought. There was a better use of time than lifting weights. As a girl, I also got rid of certain issues women have to deal with every month... one should bleed only when wounded, not because nature is a bitch.
After I shared the fruits of my work with father, he no longer needs to shave a beard, has a body that makes all women drool, (me included) and no one could guess that a twenty years old handsome man in front of them is actually sixty-three. Yes, both of us don't age anymore. And yes, I have a father complex - the main reason why I'm still single. I just can't stop comparing everyone to father and they all suck...
*
With the sound of an explosion, I quickly opened my eyes. I knew what it was just from the sound - one of the explosives I set up on the first floor earlier just detonated.
If they did that all at once it would be still not a problem - the skyscraper would just collapse into itself as I initially planned and wouldn't even touch my current location. But now... I looked with terror as the building started leaning in my direction.
Fuck! From all directions why it had to fall on this side?!
My bones were still mostly broken and it would take a lot of effort just to climb out of the car I crashed into. Even then, at best I could only crawl and there was still this parachute I am tangled in to deal with... yet ten seconds was all I had.
Tears clouded my vision and an image of my father flashed in my mind. He will be so sad without me...
I tore remains of the parachute and crawled out of the mangled car. With every move, my muscles were torn by the sharp edges of my own broken bones, but I kept crawling away even if it was futile. Multiple shards of glass from broken windows started to rain all around me and I could see a massive shadow getting closer in the refection.
I opened my mouth and shouted at the god with all my might while spitting blood, "Well fuck you too!!!"
The very next moment building reached me and I was engulfed in darkness.

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]
