《Rakshasha's Heart - Prologue》Afterword

Thank you everyone for reading all the way up here!! It has been quite a arduous journey for me and I would like to put forth something before we talk about the continuation of this fiction.
I had never intended for a Prologue this big actually. In fact, I had never intended to write a Prologue at the very start. This entire sequence of events, excluding the minute details, were supposed to be main character's back story that would have been sprinkled over the course of the fiction. But I decided against that route for one primary reason, and that is...
I had never written a novel to begin with!!
Let alone novels, I had never went past the 400 word essays during school exams in terms of writing. So I wanted to put on some experience before heading onto the main story I had in mind, wait, I don't think you could call it a story, but rather my own fantasies in a magical world that stemmed up after reading a lot of Asian fiction.
So I decided to write the back story first. Not only would it serve as an exposure for me to novel writing, it would also serve as an advertisement for my story telling abilities to a group of audience who could give me some feedback. And with the pressure of the Covid 19 lockdown, I finally took up this long thought project........... and I wrote.
I wrote for about a month, before posting the first chap here on royal road, and it has been another month to this date when I completed it. After the 10th day, when I went back and read my stuff, I vomited. Like seriously it was so bad I can't describe it. Then I had to rewrite all of that, while continuing on, and re-edit and rewrite and re-edit........My thoughts, you ask? It's freakin hard godammit!! How the hell do people put up with this!! Like seriously, mad respect for folks who have churned out 200 300 chaps, even if they are a professional writer. (sigh)

Getting back to the topic, this prologue contained a lot of stuff, not because of the story's demand, but just because I wanted to write them. Stretched fight scenes, detailed introduction of not so important characters, a not very required mini war kind of raid, yeah all of them.
Right now, I am kind of relieved that this thing is completed. And I have no plans on immediately continuing it. I'm sorry! I'm sorry , but yeah, Volume 1 would take a long, long time to complete. I have to work on a new time table to keep on writing while putting up with university (I'm a Physics major), unlike in this lockdown where I had devoted two whole months for this.
Rather, I'm amazed at the sheer amount of like minded folks on this site. They all are amazing, the response this story got, I never would have expected. So I kind want to explore it as a reader, with a new perspective of a novice writer. If you people have any good recommendations, you can comment or even PM me without hesitation. I want to relax for a while :)
As a note on the continuation of this story and as you may have already guessed from this prologue. It's going to be long. Yeah, sometimes I feel I bit more that I can chew. But I will definitely see through it, churning out one volume every time with a gap of a few months, and hopefully, I will finish it within the next 10 years!1 Hurrah!! *cries in the corner*
Lastly, I don't know how will I say this, but you can support me with donations (> .
Thank you again, everyone who has read up till here. Please rate or review this story, give an honest feedback, since that will help shape up the upcoming volumes. Any discrepancies, any shortcomings you have noticed, do not hesitate to message me directly. Heart full gratitude to everyone!! For now, stay home and stay safe :)

It's Hard to be a Hero in a Parallel World
A hero is transported from the real world into a parallel world similar to the video game he's been obsessed with for the past few weeks. The problem is, this game is way too difficult, especially for a nerdy gamer boy to survive. He decides to leave the hero-duty to someone who is actually competent while he looks for a way home. He hopes his knowledge of the game will help him stay out of trouble. Unfortunately, as one would imagine, the normal events of a game would change drastically when the main character is nowhere to be found. Read as the unlikely hero gets into trouble with his new companions, while trying to survive life in this parallel world. This is an original story that takes inspiration from and pokes fun at many novels, video games, anime, and the stereotypes and tropes that appear in those media.
