《Heaven's Grip : Orcs of Iaoue》Cleansing 18 : Our Battle

Two days have passed since that night.
The Chief and the team, suffered different kinds of injuries as they escaped for their lives, though there were no major ones, the trauma of being chased that night can never be laughed at. We not only need to be fast but we also need to avoid making traces in order for us to not lead the enemy towards our horde.
The Chief might not be that smart but when the time needed it, he can be very dependable. He ordered the group to scatter and run in different locations to divide the enemy forces when they chase us, not only did he made the right choice, he was clear headed enough to command not to leave traces. It may be his instincts telling him but that was still very commendable.
Though we did our best, the enemy still located our camp. But we already anticipated the fact that they can track us down and it is only a matter of time. They were quite fast since our camp and theirs are not that far, to begin with. At least we were given two days to prepare.
The Chief and the team had already recovered, so did I.
After the horde was alerted about the impending crisis. They were not scared, but they wanted to fight it out with these new enemies.
'What simpletons, they never saw the enemies might.' is what I thought.
But I can never voice that out since I am the cause of this trouble at the first place.
Although I can defend my self by saying...
'discovering those goblins early on can avoid greater crisis'
It would still not change the fact that I attracted trouble, so It is better to just shut my mouth and think of solving the current problem.
The Chief and I told them to pack things up and we should start leaving. If the enemy chases us, we can slowly eliminate and hunt them at night and we can run during the day. This would probably be the correct choice of action.
But the horde was already attached to this place and was reluctant to leave.
All the efforts in making this camp were done by the horde and they really want to test it out. They also want to test their strength and the only way to do that is to fight.
So the final decision was to fight it out. If the tide of the battle will be in our favor, then we will stay. But I really lack confidence about this, so we made sure to make an escape route or two.

Running would be the wisest decision in my opinion. The horde is just way too weak.
At that night of our great escape, I realized something and that is...
'The world is big and we are too weak'.
If we want to live then we must obtain strength, and in order to get that strength as fast as possible, we need to kill.
We need to steel our hearts and view every being that we encounter as our enemy.
As for why, at the Goblin Camp, when the Chief and the team tried to rescue me. They defeated some of those goblins. They not only increased the efficiency of their skills but they also obtained levels from it. Especially Jule.
Jule got a 'Title' and as well as 5 levels.
Based on that, killing is the best way for getting stronger. Though as Hogs, we are not meant to hunt and kill creatures. When you think about it, we ate worms, and those worms are considered as creatures. So the only factor is the creature's size.
Before the blessing of the goddess. The thought of hunting and killing creatures of our size are non-existent. It may be our lack of confidence or our lack of thirst for blood or maybe it is just our nature since we are not really natural born predators, to begin with.
But right now, the feeling that seeks for blood and flesh is circulating within our beings. The hogs who are creatures who thought that they are fine with starbagges and rootworms for the rest of their lives are now emitting a strong bloodthirst.
Even the Chief can be seen with red-eyes and veins popping on his face.
These two days, the Hogs were becoming hungrier and more aggressive, that they started uprooting trees since they could no longer be satisfied with just 3 or 5 worms. The trees that near our camp have been uprooted out of the soil and are now laying on the ground. The hogs during the second night upon receiving the blessing of the goddess started to hunt small creatures for food. They did not bite those poor small creatures. Instead, they impale them and they directly place said creatures inside their mouths and started chewing the fur, flesh, bones, and blood altogether inside their mouths. The hogs later discovered that by doing so, their hunger could be satiated and those small creatures were tastier than those worms and starbagges
Though I believe that those small creatures tried to communicate with their predator, not all Hogs can communicate with other races. To think of it, I am the weird one for trying to do that in the first place, that Cat was right, why would you bother talking to your prey when you will eat them and be done with it in the first place.

Me accidentally hearing the Cat talking to himself at that time was considered a blessing, since it avoided a major catastrophe by saying something amusing to its ears.
But, the current situation is different, our enemy is not that Cat, but a horde of forest goblins who have gained sentience much earlier than us. Not only are they stronger since they know more skills and abilities than us they seem to have larger numbers than us as well.
When the horde saw the goblins, at first their reactions were like 'meh', but when all the goblins have gathered outside the camp, they have begun gulping their non-existent saliva.
The goblins started besieging the camp, they did not directly attack but it seems like they are waiting for someone or something.
And then a voice came...
"YOU DISGUSTING PREDATORS! , REPENT!"
The goblins who heard the voice repeated the last word in unison.
"REPENT!"
At the center of that curve defensive line where the entrance of our camp was located. You can see a line of goblins started to break and they are making a way for the owner of the voice.
"The Great I, Bol'Bol the son of Bor'Bor will offer your lives to the Forest God to amend for all the crimes you have committed." Said the Goblin Chief in a loud, arrogant voice.
'This dumb Goblin Chief, of course, he came.' I thought as I responded to his lame battle cry.
"Goblin Chief, this is a misunderstanding, we never intended to hurt you or your horde"
The hogs did not get what the goblins are saying, but the words I gave were understood by them and they seem to be very displeased at what I'm currently doing. My apologizing tone hurt their feelings for some reason. But I really don't want to fight these bunch of green bastards if I have to. So if we can resolve this by peacefully talking, then that would be for the best.
"WHAT NONSENSE, NOT ONLY DID YOU DESTROY OUR SHRINE, YOU ALSO KILLED SOME OF OUR BROTHERS!"
'this guy, you are the one who destroyed your shrine in the first place, Chief and the Team only killed your kind as an act of self-defence.'
Is what I thought, since he already stated it that way, then we can only try and ask for forgiveness from our rashness and if it won't work, then the only choice left would be, to FIGHT!
"WE APOLOGIZE FOR THAT OH GREAT CHIEF, WE ARE WILLING TO OFFER YOU ANYTHING AS LONG AS YOU RECEIVE OUR HEARTFELT APOLOGY". I shouted in response.
The horde, when they heard that they shouted various words, like...
"NONSENSE"
"STOP THAT FIG"
"LET'S KILL THEM ALL, AND BE DONE WITH IT"
The goblins only heard snorts and oinks, while the hogs heard hisses and grumblings.
And that works for me since their words can't damage the negotiation that I'm currently making.
Though the possibility is low, it is not zero, so I might at least try.
Hearing my apology, the Goblin Chief tried to be cool and acted as if he was thinking so hard that he placed his right hand towards his head and rubbed his temple.
"WELL THEN, SINCE YOUR RACE IS A STUPID RACE, AND YOUR GOD IS A DISGUSTING GOD. THEN THIS GREAT CHIEF WILL GIVE YOU A CHANCE. YOU ALL FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIVES WILL SERVE THE GREAT FOREST GOBLINS, YOU WILL ACT AS OUR MOUNT AND AS WELL AS OUR SLAVES FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIVES"
'There really is no more left that I could do,' is what I thought.
All the things I knew during the time I was captured, I already reported it to the horde. The Chief and the horde were surprised to this report since the report is all about the Contribution Store and its usage. The Chief ordered all the Hogs to open and discuss the items being sold inside their contribution store. Unlike me and the Chief, most hogs only got tens of contribution points while some like Pic, Nic, and Jule got CP in hundreds. I and the Chief got in thousands.
This made things harder since not everyone can purchase Skills or Stats with those meager amount of CP. The horde made a decision to talk about the things available in their store and purchase the things that can increase our strength as fast as possible in preparation for this day.
'Oh well, who in their right mind would agree to that.'I thought as I translated the words towards the Hogs. Their response was rather expected. They shouted, and stomped their feet and later, those stomping and shouting became united, as they shouted the words in unison.
"KILL"
"KILL"
"KILL"
"KILL"
"KILL"
"KILL"
As those words reverberated the surroundings.
The goblins got annoyed and started their attacks. Though they might not understand our words, just the looks of our blood lusted faces the answer to their offer is clear. FIGHT!
FIGHT!

The Heart Grows
Dungeon games? Yeah, they're a good way to waste a few hours. The trick is to know the map and plan appropriately. Of course, it doesn't matter if you get beaten. You revise your plan for that map and do a bit better next time. Man, it'd really suck to wake up as a dungeon heart in a fantasy world you know nothing about, barely able to even work out how to control your dungeon. Lucky that wouldn't happen to anybody, huh? What with only having one chance at getting things right, you'd have to plan extra-defensive. This story should be getting chapters published weekly. I have a comfortable buffer set up and on top of the weekly writing I am committing, a commissioner has donated two monthly writing slots to ensure this remains on a weekly schedule. There will be a stat block at the beginning of every chapter bar the first, and a handy map at the end. All my works come with a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. This means you are free to download, publish, and even make derivative works of my writing so long as you include this license, attribution, and don't sell the works. Keep it free!

Reincarnated as a Troll in a Dark Fantasy World
A troll wakes up in the "forest of beginning" of a fantasy world with only faint memories of his past human life and unable to speak. The human realm will spare no expense to bring down this monstruous threat. While clinging to his humanity, the troll must use his cunning and modern knowledge to survive and evade the hunters. It is a dark age in a world of swords and magic, ruled by superstition and iron-clad rules. Tradition and conformity are the absolute cornerstones of society. There is no calendar, people count time by seasons, or days. Death, famine and vicious monsters are everywhere. People clutch in their communities, afraid of what is outside. Here and there, a Hero rises, his tale brief like a shooting star. Powerful monsters that drift too close to human's realm must be eradicated at any cost, or society might crumble. The Troll comitted this sin. This "isekai' LitRPG novel is an experiment in writing. We commit to the "Adventure" and "Fantasy" genres, but it might have comedy, romance, and both dark and light tones. Some events in this novel are drawn from random encounter generators and others are decided on a die roll just like a tabletop RPG. Things take a unpredictable tone! Non constructive / offensive comments may be deleted without previous warning. Daily Updates: One each monday through friday, two on saturday and sunday. As of september, the updates will be every even-numbered day. Cover Credits: "Ett gammalt bergtroll" - John Bauer, 1904 (with modifications)
