《Heaven's Grip : Orcs of Iaoue》Cleansing 13 : Our Faction

When the moon hovered above our heads. I gathered the horde to discuss Fig's situation. I hate to say this but that Hog's usefulness can never be replaced by anyone even by myself. I really got this weird feeling that if we do not move tonight then Fig will probably be lost to us forever. "EVERYONE" my voice reverberates around the camp making my fellow hogs halt their movement. "Fig has not returned and it's already night. I fear that Fig met some trouble and we should help him" I spoke those words as I look at each and everyone's eyes. There was a moment of silence. 'As I thought, nobody would like to go into the forest at night.' "Uhmmm, Chief in what direction do you think Fig went?" This question broke the silence. It was Pic, he looks to be greatly troubled. "He said to go down south since the north part of the camp has been fully scouted and that's due to Fig's diligence." I said the last part loudly and those Hogs who heard it lowered their heads in shame. After hearing that Pic went to his haven to Pick some things. Even though Pic is an airhead he still values his buddy. "I, your Chief will go find Fig. My brothers and sisters, please protect the camp when I'm away" I said as I went towards the entrance of the camp. "Wait Chief let me go with you as well" I looked back and see Jule running towards me. Good since you and Fig have already done the deed you can be considered as his Sow, huh. As we waited for Pic near the entrance I can feel a presence at my back. "So Nic you decided to tag along?" Nic stepped out of the shadows, his trademark snickering face can be seen. "Good all that's left is Pic and we can start moving" as I said that I can see Pic running in our direction. I do not blame the 'horde' for not helping Fig. Since their lives might be at risk if they look for someone who might already be dead, it's really not worth it. So they also can't blame me for doing this... "PATRON GOD"

LIST OF AVAILABLE PATRON GODS
1. THE RIVER GOD
2. GODDESS OF THE SUN
3. THE SUN GOD
4. GODDESS OF THE MOON
5. THE FOREST GOD
'Buddy you must stay alive' I ran towards the Chief's direction when a pillar of light fell towards the Chief. BEEP
BLESSING OF THE NIGHT
+ Acquired Night Vision
+ Night Stealth Skill has been learned
+ Increase movement speed and attack speed at night + HP/MP/STA restored to MAX at dusk Tears started to form in my eyes as I stared at the Chief. 'Chief, thank you,' these words came from the bottom of my heart. The decision for our Patron God has already been decided, even Fig agreed to it. Having the Forest God as our Patron God would be the best for the horde. The horde also agreed to it since they too are now considered as inhabitants of the forest. In order for us to have a better chance of finding Fig. The Chief selfishly decided to change the decision of the horde. 'Take that you ungrateful bunch of pigs, if not for Fig you wouldn't even be breathing today.' TING YOUR HORDE REGISTERED INTO THE NIGHTWALKER FACTION THE GODDESS OF THE MOON BLESSES ITS BELIEVERS WITH THE SKILLS FOR ASSASSINATION AND ESPIONAGE. EMBRACE THE NIGHT, THE MOON'S LIGHT WILL GUIDE YOUR PATH
After that notification, my body felt light. The moon shone brighter, moments later the pillar of light that was surrounding the Chief dissipated.
"Chief we need to move"
The Chief nods his head but did not move. It seems like he is still checking the gains from having a patron God.
"Come on Chief, read that stupid notification after we find Fig, it's not like you can understand that anyway"
The Chief looked at me, he was about to say something but the words did not leave his mouth, he started to walk and said that we should use our new skill called "Night Stealth" so we can avoid unnecessary encounters.
"NIGHT STEALTH"
NIGHT STEALTH - I (PATRON SKILL)
STA and MP: 5/min.
Erases your presence and blends with the darkness of the night.

AF: Dispells when your presence is noticed
CD: 5 minutes after deactivation
We have to be fast since Fig's life is more important than anything else right now.
I was delivered here inside the Forest God's Shrine and those stupid goblins did not even say anything and just dumped me here still tied, 'to think that this is not the place where the Chief lives.' Is what I thought. Inside the tent was almost empty, there is only one thing in the center of this circular tent, at first I thought that these goblins acquired a miniature sun but it seems that this thing is called as an indoor bonfire, courtesy of my inspect skill. That bonfire is made of wood that was on fire and when the fire ate all the wood there would be black and white things on the ground called ash. I used to analyze multiple times in order to learn more about 'fire', there was this thing called skill attribute to cast fire attributed skills to make fire, there are also things in the Contribution Store Misc that can create fire but I really don't want to waste my CP just to make fire. Since I can't do anything right now, I'll just have to wait for my STA to start recovering and when it's FULL I'll start breaking this stupid vine and make a run for it. Other than browsing the Contribution Store, I really can't do anything but look and check all the items available for purchase.
SKILL SHOP
TIER - 1 (1,000 CP and above)
1. PHYSICAL
2. MAGICAL
I chose the second option, I already know what magic is since I used my analyze skill, though there was little information about it, at least I know something about magic. It said that magic is useful and dangerous at the same time. It uses MP to activate. So to summarize it in simple terms. If a skill uses MP then it's magic, if its STA, then it's physical. I really like my analyze skill since it provides minimalistic explanations and is always direct to the point.
SKILL SHOP > TIER - 1 > MAGICAL
1. ATTACK
2. DEFENCE
3. SUPPORT
I chose option one.
SKILL SHOP > TIER - 1 > MAGICAL > ATTACK
1. PURE MANA
2. FIRE
3. WATER
4. EARTH
Since it is not my first time browsing this shop, I noticed that you need to have supreme patience in order to purchase something. I chose Pure Mana since that thing is for the likes of me, unattributed.
SKILL SHOP > TIER - 1 > MAGICAL > ATTACK > PURE MANA
1. TOME OF CANNON BURST LV 1 (1,400 CP)
Gathers mana in one point, channels for 2-7 secs.
Each second can provide 50 magical damage, increases damage based on M.ATK ( N + (M.ATK * 2)) * CT
Requires 2-second chant("CANNON") consumes 90/SEC MP chant ("BURST") to release.
WARNING: WILL EXPLODE IF INTERRUPTED, CANCELLED DURING CHANNELING, UNRELEASED.
2. TOME OF MANA BALL LV 1 (900 CP)
Release a ball of pure mana to hit a target.
Can deal 30 magical damage increases damage based on M.ATK ( N + (M.ATK * 2))
Requires 2-second casting("MANA BOLT") and consumes 15 MP per cast.
Those are the only things that I can see since the System only allows you to look at the things that you can afford. That is the reason why I haven't bought any from this store and I really don't want to use my CP because my curiosity is preventing me from purchasing since I want to see more things from it. "SKILL SHOP, TIER - 1, MAGICAL, DEFENCE, PURE MANA," I said as if reciting a long magical chant. You really need to do this if you want to by pass that stupid store options and directly go to the things you want to see.

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.
