《How to get lost: a wanderers guide》Take two of these, and call me in the morning

Hello again! I had nearly forgotten the sweet taste of fresh air!

Untainted by fumes from burning viscera, or the stench of decomposing and dissolving meat. Not a whiff of fart nor rot! Soooooooo, GOOD!

Fen in particular has really perked up, he’d been real quiet and reclusive for the last long while. Well, relatively. If you ignore the lightning bolts and thunder and all that. Once we got out he started spinning around like a top, HAH! Top-hat!

Because he is a top hat, that was spinning around like a top, while being, in fact, a hat. I feel like that was funnier in my head, and then became much less amusing once I wrote it down…

Where was I?

Right, so he started spinning around, and laughing like a loon, then shot up into the cloudy gray skies overhead. With his laughter fading rapidly as he disappeared into the clouds I felt like he had lost his mind and wouldn’t be coming back. I was wrong.

With a thundering crash of, well, thunder, Fen launched a truly massive bolt of lightning down into the waves. For a moment, it looked like a new sun had appeared, connecting the heavens and earth in a single blinding column of terrifying majesty.

The clouds and the seas began dancing. Shifting clouds and surging waves seeming to nearly touch as every cloud in the sky began sprinting straight towards Fen. The lightning bolt, which had persisted much longer than natural, flickered briefly before twisting in on itself and slamming into the underside of the newly formed giant orb of clouds.

With a, literally, deafening bang and a, literally, blinding flash the clouds were sent blasting in all directions, racing towards the horizon. As I worked to fix my blasted eyes and ears I was drenched by an unnaturally dense curtain of rain, which thankfully passed as quickly as it arrived. It rushed off into the distance. Hopefully it disperses before it bothers anyone.

Well, at least it cleaned all the caked on crud off of the Ivers Dream. Just goes to show, everyone needs to let off some steam from time to time. Some people knit, some jog, some create massive and uncontrollable weather systems spontaneously and unleash them upon the surroundings. Takes all kinds.

Going back a bit, I feel I should mention how we escaped the belly of the beast. Onica did it. She accomplished with her vats of unstable chemicals what all the fire in the world couldn’t manage. Turns out the beasts own gut juice, when mixed with some glowing bits of rock and other noxious and unctuous elixirs, can eat through bone quite easily. Judging from the near inaudible, incredibly low, screaming we have been hearing ever since the mixture is still burning happily through the big fellas system.

That’ll teach him. What it will teach him exactly, I am not entirely sure. Maybe not to fall asleep within sailing distance of us? A valuable lesson, I imagine.

Now then, I have set up a hammock between two lovely masts, and I wish to spend my first night outside the guts in the fresh air. Goodnight, tomorrow, we go looking for pirate treasure! Again… Surely we can’t keep getting side tracked, right?
