《How to get lost: a wanderers guide》Not-nots return

Hello again! Guess what I found trundling about on a random beach!

Not-nots! And they are just as delicious as I remember!

Boy, does that distinctive smell ever bring me back. Good times, good times. The world was strange and interesting. Nowadays its just strange and captivating. Hm, now that I think of it, not much has changed.

The not-nots around hereabouts are rather strange looking though. They still have their rocky carapace, but its much more colorful. Bright reds and blues and yellows. Worst camouflage I have ever seen.

But thats fine by me, because it makes them easier to find and catch, and they come in different flavors!

The red ones taste sweetish, and send fun tingling sensations through my limbs. Kind like a small zap from Fen. The more you eat the more the tingling grows, until you can hardly even stand up or walk straight from the odd numbness. So I ended up falling and fumbling all over the beach until I decided to just take a nap until it wore off.

The yellow ones have a neat citrus aftertaste, which is just fantastic! They don't make my limbs tingle though. Instead I get funny random patterns forming on my skin. They kind of look like bruises. If bruises were orange and red. They went away after a little bit, so I had another yellow shelled not-not. Its fun to watch they patterns grow and fade, never looking the same. The first time it looked like broad and short stripes climbing my ribs. The second time I had neat and very fine spirally vine looking patterns running along my arms and legs.

The colors changed too. At first they were mostly red, then they faded into orange, then they just kind of faded away altogether. I couldn't get more patterns no matter how many yellow not-nots I ate. And I ate a lot!

Then there were my favorites! The blue not-nots! They tasted unique, sweet and savory and salty. One of the tastiest thing I have ever eaten. They didn't just taste good though, they had my favorite side-effect. They made me see things!

I spent a good couple hours chasing visions around the island and beach. Wee little men with great big ears, big cats with orange fur and black stripes, tiny little versions of that winged fire lady I danced with back so long ago in the lonely desert. All the ladies were smiling, it was... it was such a good smile...

Whoops, almost drifted off there, gotta stay awake, need to finish.

Some giant tentacly thing smacked our boat onto the beach. I roasted the ocean, but I think it got away, one tentacle less though. I tried to help dislodge our ship from the sand, but I just kept setting it on fire. So I got sent off to explore the island and find some food and water.

Which is where I found the not-nots.

Oddly enough nobody else was willing to eat them, but Onica did take a few. She came back with little vials of colored fluid.

Seasonings. Now thats smart, I would never have thought of capturing their flavor for use later. I tried one, they tasted just like the not-nots did, but way more powerful in both flavor and side-effect. I tried a red one and nearly collapsed as I was nearly blinded by the sweetness, and I lost feeling in my limbs wthin seconds.

I spent the next while flopping about on the ground.

We may have to dilute that a bit before we cook with it.

Hard to eat without using your hands, and face, and stuff.

Whoo. My head is spinning.

I'm gonna head to bed.

Haha, that rhymes.

Goodnight.
