《How to get lost: a wanderers guide》Threats don't work on idiots

Hello again. I feel I may have made some mistakes today.
As planned I took flight and gave chase after that scumbag Lonny a soon as the sun rose enough for me to see by.
Unfortunately things stopped going as planned right about there. First of all was the flock of angry birds I accidentaly flew into. If you have your eyes on the sea you'll miss the massive multi-colored flock of birds dead ahead.
Remember that for the future.
After I escaped the pecking squawking mess in a cloud of smouldering feathers and ash I had been thrown off course.
I had no idea which way to go. I really should have gotten my bearings before I left the ship. I recalled seeing the sun to my left when I took off. So I put it to my left and flapped off.
Flying is slower than rocketing, but I can keep it up for much longer. I think today is going to be a long distance day.
Watching the waves below shift and swirl I had plenty of time to think and feel. Considering how rough the last few days had been emotionally I wasn't enjoying my introspection very much.
I had lost my small and cute little friend. Then, before I was over grieving for him I was introduced to another small and cute possible friend. And then that one was taken away from me too! I was hoping that somehow, if I can save Lena, then maybe it will save Julius too.
I know it doesn't make sense but emotions are weird! They just are. Julius is probably already... No! He is alive! I won't give up on him. My little buddy is a fighter! He won't let a measly little ocean stop our adventures. I know it. Now I just need to find him. Somehow. Ugh.

My cloudy emotions got to rain out their grievances and soon enough they drifted away.
I was still worried about Lena, and Julius, but I felt much more controlled and in charge of my mental state.
Which is probably why when I caught up to the sloop and found it in the company of an assorted dozen other bigger pirate ships I wasn't really fazed.
At least I was in control until the biggest guy with the biggest beard aboard the biggest ship held up a squirming burlap sack and said " Hey fire freak! Land and give back my treasure! Unless you never want to see your little friend alive aga..."
That is about as close as I can recall his words. All the rest were muffled by my fist. Anyway, I thought he had Julius and when he threatened him I totally lost my shit. That massacre on the brig? Childs play. This was a straight up slaughterfest. I was a beast.
Spines were removed by hand. Fire covered the sky and sea. I started another skull pile, and I swear I kicked a guy so hard he turned inside out. I didn't even think that was possible!
Anyway, five minutes after that ill advised attempt to negotiate/threaten me failed all that was left was blood, fire, and some ash.
Super.
I opened the burlap sack and little Lena came flopping out. A little bruised and dirty but still hale and healthy.
Until she saw what I had done.
Since then she has been glued to my leg. She is just clinging onto me and refuses to let go. I found a relatively clean ship's boat. lowered it into the water and plomped down in it to have a meal and get some sleep.
Lena hasn't said a word yet. She did eat some fish and fruit, but she is still clinging to me and I ran out off firepower again today. Still, I feel like I lasted long today that I could have before.
Thats good. Progress is always encouraging.
I rowed us away from the smoking sinking wrecks of the once proud pirate fleet. Once we were clear I just let us drift and lay down to sleep.
Lena is now clinging to my chest rather than my leg. I hope she lets go soon. I am not great with people.
Goodnight.
