《The Demonic Servant》Chapter 2

[MC's Pov]
"Uh... your majesty?" One of the guards, with an obvious death wish, dared to intrude upon this whishful moment, but I held back from killing him on the spot and roasting his soul for a thousand years, as my soon-to-be-master probably wouldn't like it.
"It's... It's alright... just go away..." The king said, trying to back away. I simply moved forward when he did. I was somewhat annoyed at this lower life form's attempt at stealing my master from me, but then again, how could they understand master's greatness?
As the guards slowly surrounded both me and my master, I emitted a bit of my aura, freezing them in place. One of them screamed out "Call the bishop! It must be an archdevil or even a prince!"
Pfft. As if. Devils are weaklings compared to me, but who could ever care for what those lowlives' think? However, should they be thinking bad things about master... perhaps I should check...
"Master, forgive me for my intrusion, but the summoning drained me quite a bit. I will need to go feeding for a while, if you excuse me." I said before my whole body turned transluscient and dust-like. After that, I shot towards master's forehead. The king had tried dodging, but how could I ever miss such a simple thing? My body entered through her forehead and left my soul mark, two wings circling around a strange rune at the center.
"Ah!" Master cried out, before her body fell asleep. When she awoke, we were both inside of her soul domain. It was weak for now, as master is still young, but I'm sure she'll grow up to be so powerful even gods will fear her. That is a least for my great master.
"W-where are we? What did you do to me!?" She cried out in fear. I bowed deeply and answered
"Forgive me, great master, but materializing in the mortal world for me is taxing. I was hoping you allow me to let me make a soul connection, so that you may summon me whenever you wish for me to do your bidding."

Her face displayed a number of emotions. Confusion, fear... and... hope? Hm?
"S-soul connections?" She asked, unsure. "Master, soul connections are bonds between two souls. They can be of servitude, patnership or other things. I am willing to make a connection of absolute servitude under two conditions."
She looked shocked, but I continued "My first condition, if master forgives me for asking this, would be that I am allowed to disobey any command that might directly, indirectly or is in any way, a threat to my life. I will also ask for master's permission to allow me to do what is best for master."
"I-I..." She didn't really know what to say for a while, before she suddently gathered up courage and shouted "No! I will never make deals with devils! Dad said devils are bad people!"
A bit sad at her misunderstanding, I corrected her "But master, I am no devil. I am but a mere soul, having been granted salvation by master. I beg of you, please do not reject me. I... I do not know if I could ever hold on anymore should I go back to that hell..." My words turned venomous at the mentioning of that hell, but I quickly corrected my words.
"But dad said you're a devil?" She said, unsure. "No master. Your father is merely a fool thinking himself a scholar. Whilst for mortals like him, his knowledge might be impressive, for immortals like me it is equivalent to comparing Einstein to the average 1 years old."
"Y-you know of Einstein!?" She shouted, her tone changing to a more mature one. "Yes master. I know that you are a reincarnated human from planet X-B-523, also called Earth. My apologies for not telling you beforehand, but I feared you might not want your family to know of such secrets."
She fell on the ground, her face in her hands, in what I belive Japanese like her call a seiza position. "B-but I thought... my acting... I tried hard..."

"Indeed, Master. Your acting was to the point, however, your body language and soul ondulations are easy to read. Furthermore, no 8 years old would ever try to use the [identify] skill consciously."
It seemed as if my words pierced her heart, as she exxagerately fell to the floor in defeat. "So you even noticed, huh... Well, at least your hair is soft..."
"I thank you very much for the compliment, master. However, I would like to establish our link soon, as I believe your family is currently rushing your body to the bishop, and for as much as I hate to say it, he will be able to force me out of your soul due to me suppressing myself in order to now damage your soul."
She sighed in defeat and said "Fine. Do your thing. I died once already, and it's not like I have a choice..." She grumbled out.
With a light "Thank you, great master", I initiated a soul connection. With this, I would be able to travel between both hell and this world. Although I don't want to go back there, I know full well that unless I am willing to massacre thousands of people everyday and feed on their souls in the mortal world, I will need to make trips back to that hell in order to feed. But, with this soul connection, I will be able to travel directly here, and the 'force' will not stop me, on the opposite, it will even aid me.
Red, snake-like patterns appeared under my feet and extended to every part of master's soul. She looked grim, but her face soon turned into a relaxed one. Normally, connecting two souls would be painful, but I can change that fact. I'm not a grandmaster of souls for nothing.
After a couple of seconds, the patterns disappeared and her souls returned to normal. She looked at me weirdly, but before she could say anything, I prostrated myself fully and asked in a serious tone. "I ask thee, will you accept this worthless soul as your servant?"
She looked lost and confused, but still managed to answer "Y-yes...?"
Then, I felt a strange connection I never felt before forming between us two. I already knew that this would happend, and yet, when it did, I could not stop myself from shedding some... no, a lot of tears.
"W-what's wrong?" Ah... She's concerned about me... How sweet...
"It... It's nothing master... I-it's just that I just realized I'm finally free... free from that hell of loneliness..." I said, and I could not stop myself from sobbing for a bit. Manliness? What's that. Pride? That's reserved for other times. I couldn't help but bask in this bliss, freed from the voices and freed from knowing that I would die alone, trapped in that hell I was born in.
Master looked completely shocked now, as she had been for quite a while now. However, I couldn't care less, as I felt someone try and force me out of her soul. Angered by their arrogance, my soul roared back at them full force, whilst I paid careful attention not to hurt master's soul.
If it wasn't for that, the meagre soul of that arrogant bastard would have been wiped out all planes of existance. However, my soul was very limited, so it was merely pushed away without damage to the soul itself, but the body took a brunt hit.
Tsk. Bastards. "Please forgive me master, but I will need to go now. To summon me, call me through our link. I will reappear by myself in around a day or two, and I once again must thank you for your great act of kindness." I said before returning to that hell, a smile on my face at the idea of being able to finally leave this place forever after I gather enough energy and fully materialize my soul in that world. Heh, I can't wait...

I 'totally' won't abuse this~" [Author here, Just a forewarning that I'm writing this synopsis and the story without a solid outline/plot/whatever-you-want-to-call-it. The dialogue, here in the synopsis, probably won't ever be directly spoken in the story; though, it might. I only just finished writing the first chapter, so, we'll see.]

As the saying goes, "Ignorance is bliss." That is a good way to describe us. We are constantly seeking to improve, to evolve. Coming up with laws and theories to better understand the world around us. But what if it was all for naught. What if what we think is truth is nothing more than the actions of higher beings, far beyond our reach. Upon the discovery of an entire new reality, remaining ignorant is certain death. The only way to live is to grow, to evolve, to adapt. This is my first novel so any feedback and criticism is greatly appreciated. I hope that I'm able to grow as a writer through this and hope that people enjoy my work. Credit for the cover image goes to Richard Luong. Check him out at https://tentaclesandteeth.deviantart.com.
