Chapter 38
*****************Aelisia POV****************
I kicked him right between the legs. Without my aura magic I couldn't put ball breaking power into it, but I'm sure it still felt like it to him. His legs lost all their strength and he plummeted to the ground. I easily dislocated my arms so that I could pull my chains around to the front then leapt backwards throwing myself into one of the knights. He slammed against the wall so hard that it knocked the breath out of him.
Gwen:"Kill her!"
I pulled off the helmet to the knight I had pinned against the wall and caved his face in with it. A sword stuck into his chest barely missing me as I jumped to the side. The knight that accidentally stabbed his friend gagged when he saw what was left of his face so I dropped kicked him right out of a window. His body twisted in unnatural ways as he hit the ground.
Gwen:"Die!"
Gwen lunged at me with his sword drawn so I raised my chains up and used them to stop his swing. I wrapped the chains around his sword then pulled him towards me. My knee drove straight into his chest causing his eyes to roll to the back of his head. Henry had already recovered enough to pick the gun back up and tried to shoot me. Gwen made a perfect shield.
Henry:"What are you standing around for kill her!"
The two guards that were left outside of the room had already entered, but were keeping their distance along with the two that were in here since the beginning.
Aelisia:"Hahahahaha!! This is fun!"
I threw Gwen's body at Henry then threw his sword into one of the guards. The other guards turned to look at the one that just had his heart pierced. One of them dropped his sword and ran out of the room.
Henry:"Get back here!"
Henry was struggling to get Gwen's corpse off him. I dashed forward and punched one of the guards in the chest sending him flying into the wall with dented armor. The last guard hesitantly swung his sword at me so I circled around him and jumped on his back. My chains wrapped around his throat then a loud snapping sound echoed throughout the room as his body fell to the floor.
Aelisia:"What about you?"
I looked towards Felicity and the other noble who were cowering in a corner.
Felicity:"P-Please don't kill me."
I was about to respond when another shot from that damn artifact zoomed by me. It took only a second to disarm him and break his arms.
Henry:"Aaaahhhh! You fucking bitch! My arms!"
Aelisia:"Now where's the key to these cuffs?"
Annoyance was obvious in my voice since I got a little excited during the battle and forgot I didn't have aura magic. I punched one of the guards armor without thinking about it and ended up injuring myself. The guard died from the impact with the wall or possibly from having his chest crushed inside his armor, but the hand I used was now bloody. The injury wasn't serious; however, I felt like an idiot.
Felicity:"T-This guy has it!"
I turned to look at the violet headed dwarf girl.
Henry:"You imbecile!"
The noble without saying anything fumbled getting something out of his pocket and threw it to Aelisia.

Aelisia:"Thanks."
She used the key to unlock the cuffs and let them fall straight to the ground.
Aelisia:"Lets go! I'm taking you back to the capital!"
Executing these two in front of the other nobles would be a good deterrent against anyone else planning something against the royal family.
Aelisia:"You too little girl."
Felicity was trembling, but still managed to nod.
*****************Becket POV****************
Since there wasn't anything to do while we waited for Gideon to come back, I decided to do some knitting. Everyone started looking at me funny though.
*I guess Aria was the only one that knew I knit.*
Both Aria and Eva sat beside me while all the other nobles had formed groups. Sylvia was moving around trying to keep everyone calm.
Eva:"What are you making Becket?"
Becket:"Socks. I can't stand wearing these boots without them anymore."
Socks didn't exist in this world. The women did have a type of pantyhose and there were sock like foot warmers, but that was the closest thing to them I found. Since I didn't want to wear pantyhose and the foot warmers were too thick I decided to make some socks.
*Maybe I could become a sock salesman.*
I shrugged. There's no guarantee socks would sell well. Since they were just plain socks, it didn't take long to finish them.
Becket:"That feels so much better."
My boots felt much more comfortable. While I was enjoying the soft sensation on my feet the ballroom door opened. A large group of people entered and more were waiting in the hallway behind them. They all had staffs so I assumed they were mages.
Becket:"If you attack I'm gonna have to kill you all."
I had separated from the everyone and stood in front of the mages alone. They decided to ignore me and attack.
Mage 1:"Citatus atque imp..
I had already taken his head off before he could finish his chant. Instantly three more mages burst into flames thanks to my pyrokinesis.
Mage 5:"He's a monster!"
I froze that guy.
Becket:"This wyvern arm can shoot ice. Cool."
I didn't notice, but apparently I was smiling as I slaughtered them. Some were impaled by ice spears while others burnt to death. I personally ripped a few apart to test out my new strength. There was only one left alive now."
Mage ?:"M-Monster! Citatus et tellus! [Terra Hasta]"
I let him fire his magic which was an earth spike. It flew towards me with incredible speed then I slapped it down. Sadly it didn't fall and instead shattered into many tiny rocks. It didn't hurt, but a bunch of little rocks hitting me was annoying.
Mage ?:"........"
Becket:"Where are the knights that went after the mages at the church?"
Mage ?:"T-They're s-still there. We split o-off from the church to f-finish the nobles that were left alive after the wyvern attack."
Becket:"So Gideon's still there. It sure is taking him a long time. Thanks for the information."
I froze his head.
Becket:"This castles in terrible shape. Partially destroyed and bodies everywhere."
I sighed as I walked back over to the girls. All of the nobles moved farther away from me. No one wanted to me near me.
Aria:"That was amazing! You beat them so effortlessly!"
Standing next to the girls was Sylvia who looked towards the dead mages.
Sylvia:"It would've been better if they were still alive."
Becket:"Sorry about that. I wanted to test out how strong I became after the wyvern fight."

Sylvia:"It's fine. They were rebels after all, but their executions should have been public."
Becket:"Most of the nobles saw their execution."
I pointed towards the nobles. Seeing me pointing at them caused fear to bubble up on their faces.
Sylvia:"Yes, but the way we did this could be a problem. I'm sure our local church is acting on their own so when the head church hears about this they may assume we started the fight in order to reduce their control over this area. A war with the head church is not something we can afford right now."
Becket:"Well there's nothing we can do about it right now."
Suddenly I had an idea. I activated my vampire eyes and scanned all around me. Every heart beat other than the nobles were coming from the citizens outside of the palace.
Becket:"Alright it doesn't look like anyone else was sent so everyone here should be safe. Sylvia, I'm going to visit the church."
Sylvia:"Why? Gideon should be fine."
Becket:"There's something I want to see."
Before she could object I manifested my wings and took off. After a minute I reached the church.
Becket:"A siege huh. Perfect."
Gideon and his knights had surrounded one of the churches, but apparently the mages were held up inside it. The knights were having a hard time getting into it. I flew away and quickly found the inn.
Gene:"Becket. What are you doing here?"
Becket:"I'm here to pick up your guests."
I walked up the stairs and straight to the vampires room. Bram was reading while Carmilla was asleep.
Becket:"Follow me!"
Bram was surprised, but jumped up when I entered. Carmilla on the other hand didn't move at all. She was still asleep.
Becket:"Wake her up."
Bram:"Please don't make me."
It wasn't hard to guess that she probably didn't like being woken up.
Becket:"I still don't understand why you like her. Now wake her up."
Bram walked over to the bed and gently up his hands on Carmilla.
Bram:"Wake up sister."
He narrowly dodged a punch from his sister as she leapt up.
Carmilla:"I was sleeping!"
Bram:"Becket needs us to follow him!"
Bram was dodging punches from his sister while trying to calm her down.
Becket:"I'm taking you out to get some blood."
Carmilla:"Blood!"
Carmilla stopped her attack and looked at me.
Becket:"Yes. Should be quite a bit of blood."
Carmilla:"Lets go!"
She ran out the door.
Bram:"Wait sister! He hasn't given us a destination yet!"
Bram chased after her. I didn't even have to use my control over them. I went down stairs and they were waiting at the door.
Carmilla:"Come on! We can't leave unless you say we can!"
Becket:"Your target is the church. Leave a few mages alive and don't touch the knights. Now go!"
They both took off at frightening speeds.
*Better catch up. Others wise this is pointless.*
I sent the vampires after the mages so that I could get an idea on how vampires fight and how strong they are. These two should be powerful so it will be good to know their exact strength for when we go to the vampire continent. Carmilla must have been really craving blood since she was literally running so fast that I only saw a blur.
*Vampires sure are frightening.*
The zoomed into the church destroying the large front doors. None of the knights except Gideon even saw them pass by.
Becket:"Hey Gideon."
I flew down and landed next to Gideon.
Gideon:"Becket? Why aren't you with the nobles?"
Becket:"They're safe. I had something I needed to do."
All of the knights that were attacking the church previously now stood frozen as screams escaped from the building in front of them. Even though the doors were wide open no one entered. I was using my vampire eyes to watch each heart beat get snuffed out. Even I was a little cautious to enter the church.
After a few minutes the screaming finally stopped so I went inside with Gideon.
Gideon:"This is......"
The entire church was painted with the mages blood. The floor, walls, ceiling and all furniture was red. Limbs were scattered everywhere around the room. Carmilla and Bram stepped out of a side room together. Bram didn't have a single drop of blood on him, but Carmilla was drenched in it while smiling. It was a peaceful smile; however, the blood made it look a little menacing.
Gideon:"Bram!"
As soon as Gideon saw Bram he pointed his sword at him.
Becket:"Don't worry Gideon. They've both been leashed."
Gideon looked at me with doubt in his eyes. I looked over at the vampires.
Becket:"I thought I told you to leave some of them alive."
Bram:"There are five of them still alive in there."
He pointed to the room they just came from.
Becket:"Alright. Head back to the inn and...........wash up."
I made that one an order so they immediately left. Gideon was grumbling about something as we entered the room where the survivors were.
Gideon:"Damn vampires."
Becket:"Well they are alive. I think?"
The five survivors weren't in the best condition. I didn't even want to think about what was done to them.
Becket:"Well that's a lesson learned. Need to me more specific with my orders."
*Vampires sure are strong. I hope those two are just unusually strong since I doubt I could beat more than five of them at once.*
I left the blood soaked church and went to question the vampires. Carmilla was lying on the bed again while Bram was pacing.
Becket:"She cleaned up fast."
Bram stopped pacing when I entered.
Bram:"Becket, why did you have us kill all the mages?"
Becket:"Two reasons. They were currently rebelling and I wanted to see you two fight. By the way where do you two rank as fighters."
Bram:"Sister and I are considered skilled warriors."
Becket:"So most vampires won't be as strong as you two?"
Bram:"Yes, but our brother Radu and our father are many times more powerful then we are."
Becket:"Do you think your father would betray Radu?"
Bram:"Definitely not. Radu has always been his choice for the next vampire king."
Becket:"So the father has to be defeated too. Hey..............is she asleep again?"
I pointed to Carmilla who hadn't moved since I got here.
Bram:"Probably not. She doesn't like talking to you."
Becket:"Once we start our trip she's gonna have to talk to me anyway. Well I better get back to the palace."
I was suppose to be guarding the nobles so I need to get back. It's unlikely that anything happened since most of the mages in the city are dead, but safety first.

Discovering Magic
“Venture into your mind and into a new world, one where there is Magic. Magic that is nascent and unexplained, one where you can be the one to Discover it, by delving dark dungeons or examining magical Beasts, by studying ancient scrolls or by finding lost gods, your Imagination is the only limit.” This is what Mike thought he was getting into when he lay down to play a new VR game, but fate had another thing in store for him, he was whisked away to a new world in another Dimension, with an AI fused to his body that refuses to let him treat this world as a game, all the while trying to make it as much like a game as it can. The only Objective he is given is to Discover Magic as he learns to survive and live in this new world, doing the best he can to not die, or even worse. *** Hi All! This is my story, it has been brewing in my mind in various forms for years. It will be rough, this is the first story I have written in a long time, so please help me make it as great as it can be! It is a High Fantasy adventure/Isekai LitRpg, it will have action and adventure, levels and dungeons, Elves, Dwarves and Gods. It is not a Virtual Reality story, though it will touch on some topics of artificial intelligence. The core focus of the story is going to be the discovery and deep delve in the magic system and fantastical elements of the world. Mana is used so often in LitRPG's but how often is it explained what mana is, magic is used in fantasy, but how often do you understand what it feels like. Magical races like Elves, Dwarves etc. often exist in stories, but why do they exist? and what truly makes them different from Humans and from each other? What is a God and where did they come from? These are the sort of topics that I want to really dive into in this series, all through the lens of a progression focused LitRPG. Thanks for reading!

Gods How I Hate Nature
While there are always choices in life, lately they’ve all tended to skew between bad, terrible, and suicidal. Tome finds himself typically choosing the latter. As if people and plants consistently trying to kill him wasn’t bad enough, he finds himself sent off to a Mage Spire along with a self-righteous other worlder (as though there were any other kind). Add to this some powerful figures in black, a sadistic instructor, an uptight law keeper, and Tome just wants to go back to his room, down a pint, and forget about everything… But, when someone starts a fight, especially someone bigger and stronger, you bide your time and strength. Before you can get revenge, you have to settle for surviving and slowly gaining power. That means accepting the most suicidal choices, doing the jobs no one else will do, always smiling, and not slitting that other worlder’s throat… (The story will incorporate comedy, but it will be a dark story. This won't be a happy, uplifting tale, but it also won't be too morose or depressing. Though if you're rooting for the other worlders, then I suppose it will be...)
