Chapter 29
After my session with Alexa I immediately returned to the palace. I made it for diner this time, but felt very uncomfortable since I just came from a brothel. Of course I didn't let that show on my face.
Sylvia:"So is everything to your liking Sir Becket?"
I looked up from my plate.
Becket:"Oh the foods wonderful."
I gave her a smile.
Sylvia:"Good. We want you to enjoy your time here."
Becket:"Well I am. You've allowed me to experience an incredible life style during my stay in the palace."
I smiled again before taking another bite of whatever I was eating. It was a thick piece of something. When I poked it with my fork it shook and when I stabbed into it a green liquid poured out. I had no idea what it was, but it did taste good. The food in this world had things I recognized and things completely foreign to me. Most of what I ate here had been quite delicious though.
Becket:"If you'll excuse me."
I stood up and lightly bowed before leaving the dining room. I had eaten enough of that food and was ready to get back to my room. Aria excused herself too and followed after me. I was stopped by a knight on my way up to my room.
Knight:"Sir those plants you requested have been found and collected."
Becket:"Good. Show it to me."
I told Aria to meet me in the room and I followed the knight. He led me to two other knights who were both holding bundles of something wrapped in brown blankets.
Knight:"Is this it sir?"
The knight tossed the blanket off one of the bundles to show me the plants they collected.
Becket:"Yes that's what I needed."
Knight:"Would you like us to carry this up to your room?"
Becket:"No it's fine. I can handle it."
I took both bundles and went straight to my room. The plants I had the knights collect was milkweed along with other more leafy plants. The milkweed was what I used to create the fabric for my jacket and the leaves were it's scales. I started working on turning the milkweed into string and sorting the leaves. My jacket when injected with mana would stretch to cover my whole body covering me in leaf scaled armor, but there was something else I wanted to make along with improvements to the jackets design.
Aria:"Whatcha doin."
Becket:"I'm creating something to boost my defense. I'm fast, but my body is weak. When I'm done this armor will keep me free of holes."
I first added springs right under each leaf scale. When I fought giant Felix I realized that even though swords couldn't pierce my armor an impact still broke bones. The springs will lower the force from an impact to help prevent this problem. This also gave me new ideas. When given mana my armor would bend to my will and take any form I wanted it too. If I made springs on my feet during battle it would increase my speed and agility. Of course I would need to practice with them for it to be useful though.
Becket:"Well I'm done."
Adding the springs was easy. The other thing I wanted to make took a little longer. I made a leaf scale cloak to wrap around myself. It had the same green color as my jacket because of the leaves, but I used dye that I picked up to make the inside of it red.

I was tired when I finished the cloak so I crawled into bed next to Aria who had already fallen asleep. Luckily I got a pillow tonight, but no covers since she had them all wrapped around her. I drifted off rather easily.
Esyn:"Whats up Becket."
I opened my eyes. Once again I was in my old room in my previous world.
Becket:"What do you want now? I did what you said."
Esyn:"I know; however, I have a new mission."
Becket:"Don't I already have one?"
Esyn:"Yes but this one shouldn't be too hard. I enjoyed the show of you and that Alexa girl so much that I want another. This time Aelisia."
Becket:"Aelisia? She isn't one of the girls you brainwashed is she?"
Esyn:"No. I just really like her, and she's strong. You have two months to train for your mission where you have to set off for the vampire capital and in those two months I want you to bang Aelisia."
Becket:"What? How am I suppose to convince her? She seems like the type that would snap my guy in half if I pointed it at her."
Esyn:"You'll just have to win her affection the old fashioned way. If you don't do it I'll.................lets leave that as a surprise."
Talking to her made me remember one of my new titles.
Becket:"Hey I've got a question. Who comes up with the titles?"
Esyn:"Well it's the title stone of course. It determines the titles."
Becket:"The stone decides? That's a lie isn't it?"
Esyn:"Would I lie to you?"
Becket:"Yeah. I think you might. Also I'm starting to get too many titles."
Esyn:"I can fix that. They're only piling up because of a glitch. Normally you would be able to fix that problem alone."
Becket:"I could fix it? Then how?"
Esyn:"Normally you could, but there's just a small problem. Since you are in the wrong body it reads you wrong."
Becket:"Reads me wrong? What does that mean?"
Esyn:"Your body isn't originally yours so you can't assign a title and hide the rest like a normal person. The stone just won't accept your soul as the owner of Becket's body so it doesn't allow full access to it."
Becket:"I don't have full access to the title stone?"
Esyn:"A regular person could set a specific title to be the only one that shows. I'll fix it though. It's not difficult for me to set one title for you so which one do you want to keep?"
Becket:"Set the Explorer as my title."
Esyn:"Fine. Now bye bye. Don't forget to cozy up next to Aelisia."
She waved as my vision went black. I woke up in my room in the palace.
Becket:"Might as well check. Identify."

Becket:"That bitch. I should've known she wouldn't set the title I wanted."
After a while of complaining to myself about my new set title I finally fell back asleep.
The next morning I was able to sneak out after sending Aria to breakfast. I would have to find something else to eat. It could become a fight so I didn't want Aria coming with me to meet Carmilla. I wore my leaf scale cape along with my matching jacket. Like usual Gene was standing at the counter when I entered.

Becket:"Morning Gene."
His elbows were propped up on the counter and his face was buried in his hands. When I spoke he looked up.
Gene:"Oh Becket. Morning."
He gave a weak reply.
Becket:"Something wrong?"
Gene:"She told me I was just a client."
Becket:"Who?"
Gene looked a little angry at my question.
Gene:"Weren't you listening yesterday? The girl I met and fell in love with."
*Didn't you say yesterday that you only think you might love her.*
Becket:"I remember."
Gene:"I asked her out and she turned me down."
Becket:"Maybe it wasn't meant to be. You'll find someone."
I tried to console him, but it didn't seem to work.
Gene:"Why can't I make things work with a woman? I always end up alone."
Becket:"You could always try being more persistent. If you prove you won't give up maybe she'll come to like you."
Gene's eyebrows shot up.
Gene:"Your right! If I keep throwing myself at her she'll eventually give in! Thanks Becket!"
Gene was now all smiles.
*I hope I didn't just make a stalker.*
Becket:"Well I'm gonna go visit your guests."
Gene:"Go ahead. Oh yeah don't make a mess of my inn."
*A mess?*
Becket:"Ok."
I went up the stairs and once again knocked on their door. The room was silent. I stuck my ear to the door to listen, but heard nothing.
Becket:"Did they leav..."
A hand tore through the door and narrowly missed my head. I jumped back against the wall opposite the door. A woman's hand with red nail polish was retracted from the hole it just made in the door. I wasn't sure what was coming next so I injected mana into my jacket. Usually I wouldn't cover my head since it narrows my vision and dulls my reaction time, but after almost losing it to that hand I took extra precautions. Once the jacket was done stretching to cover me in leaf armor I heard a voice.
Bram:"Sister calm down!"
The door was smashed into pieces as someone lunged forward. The same hand from before was shoved into my stomach.
Carmilla:"Hmm. She's wearing armor."
The leaf scale armor kept Carmilla from tearing out my intestines.
Bram:"Sister she helped save you!"
Carmilla:"It doesn't matter! Anyone who dares lay a finger on me forfeits their life!"
Becket:"Shouldn't your anger be more focused on Radu!"
I was hoping to divert her rage to the person who actually tore her heart out, but she didn't even seem to notice what I said. She tried to sever my head with her finger nails by jabbing them into my throat.
Carmilla:"What the hell is this armor made of!"
Instead of dodging I took all her hits. If I ran it would make our next meeting harder and if I fought back it might break the trust I've built with Bram. I was using up a lot of my inner mana to defend against each attack so I started to get worried I might run out.
Becket:"Isn't there anyway to settle this without disemboweling me?"
Carmilla:"Of course there isn't! This would be over quickly if you would just remove your armor!"
She continued to drive her finger nails into multiple points on my body. I couldn't even see since I had covered every inch of me in armor so I couldn't dodge even if I wanted to.
*Shit! Her strikes are powerful. It's taking a lot of mana to defend.*
I was starting to feel tired from using to much mana after half an hour. I had only used up all my mana once before so I wasn't sure how much longer I could hold up.
*Damn she's persistent!*
I had hoped she would get tired first, but she didn't even seem to slow down after all this time. Bram tried to stop her once and I could hear his screams of pain. It sounded painful; however, I knew vampires had good healing so he'll be fine.
Becket:"We're never going to get anywhere like this. All I did was kiss you."
Carmilla:"A kiss isn't something you can just take from me!"
Becket:"Then I'll give it back!"
I didn't even realize what I was saying since the only thing going through my head was how to keep myself from being killed. She suddenly stopped attacking me.
Carmilla:"Really? You'll give it back!"
*Huh?*
Becket:"Umm.....Sure."
Carmilla:"Then I guess........I won't kill you."
*Is she an idiot? I can't really give the kiss back.*
Becket:"Well then........close your eyes I guess?"
Carmilla:"Alright they're closed! Now give it back!"
I formed a single eye hole in the armor covering my face. She actually had her eyes closed.
*She is an idiot!*
Carmilla:"Hurry up and give it back!"
She tried to punch a hole in my stomach again.
*A violent idiot!*
I pressed my hand against her lips.
Becket:"There it's back now."
She opened her eyes so I cover my eye hole up again.
Becket:"So are we good now? You gonna stop trying to kill me?"
Carmilla:"Since you gave it back I'll let you live."
I heard footsteps leading away from me. Once again I created an eye hole and saw that Carmilla had walked back into the room.
*That really worked? She really thinks I can just give her kiss back?*
I decided to leave my armor on for now and followed her into the room while using only one eye hole. Whatever she had done to Bram was now completely healed and he was sitting next to the bed.
Bram:"Well now that the two of you have officially met lets get down to business."
Becket:"Ok then. As promised I'll personally kill Radu which should leave you in line to be the next vampire king right Bram?"
Carmilla:"No Radu is mine!"
Bram:"Sister he tour out your heart last time you fought. It's only going to end the same way."
Carmilla:"No I'll kill him! I was holding back last time!"
Bram:"Sister you don't know how to hold back."
Carmilla punched Bram in the nose. He slammed against the wall with a face now covered in blood.
*Holy shit! Did she kill him?*
Bram:"Sorry sister. Of course you held back during the fight with Radu."
He pulled himself up using the table next to him. She had a triumphant look on her face.
Carmilla:"You green woman. I'm thirsty. Find me a virgin."
Becket:"Me?"
I pointed at myself.
Carmilla:"Yes you leaf girl. I stayed in this room all morning waiting for you so I haven't had any blood. Now find me some."
*What am I this idiots drug dealer now?*
Becket:"Weren't we in the middle of a discussion?"
Carmilla:"I'm tired of that talk. Now go. Bring me a virgin."
Becket:"If I get you a virgin can we continue our conversation?"
Carmilla:"Sure now hurry."
She waved me out as I went downstairs. I could finally retract my armor.
Becket:"How am I suppose to find a virgin? A kid maybe?"
I wanted to get organized about our plan to put Bram in the direct line of succession for the vampire kings throne, but Carmilla was more eager to get high on blood. I wasn't in a very good mood because of it. Gene was still smiling when I came downstairs.
Becket:"Hey Gene where can I find some slave traders?"
Gene:"Slave traders? You want a slave?"
Becket:"I'm looking for a virgin. I figure buying one would be easier than finding one."
Gene:"You're probably right. When you meet a girl now a days you never know if she's a virgin or not. I believe there's a slave trader somewhere in this town, but I don't actually know where."
Becket:"Thats fine. Knowing that there is one means my search won't be in vain. Any suggestions on where to start looking?"
Gene:"The sapphire district. A lot of shady businesses are there including the assassins guild. While you're there could you stop by one of the alchemist shops? I ended up with another brothel girl after I was turned down and I think she had something. My crotch has been itching all day."
Becket:"Alchemist shop? I haven't been to one yet. Sure I'll find one, but what exactly should I pick up?"
Gene pulled out a coin pouch and passed it over to me.
Gene:"This is for the cost. I think it's called efren. Brothel girls are required to use it since it cures all sex diseases, but I guess the one I got forgot."
I took the coin pouch and looked inside.
Becket:"This is a lot. Is it really that expensive?"
Gene:"No. I threw in a little extra money as payment for picking it up for me."
I closed the pouch and put it away.
Becket:"Got it. Well see you as soon as I can."
I left the inn and looked in the direction of the sapphire district.
