I accidentally forgot to include a picture of the AS50 last chapter so here's one.

Also I've got cover art for my story now, done by drealicious.

Chapter 27
The AS50 was a good find, but I'll still need to increase my prowess in close quarters combat. I realized when I met Aelisia that this world has a few monsters that would give me a hard fight. There will probably be few situations where I can actually use the rifle since only an idiot would try to pull it out in the middle of a fight. The AS50 will only be handy if I have some distance between my enemy and myself. A sniper is meant for sniping after all. I'm not planning on using it like they do in video games. Up close and personal.
I still had one more thing I wanted to do so after splitting up with the queen I left the palace again. It wouldn't be long before the sun goes down so I hurried along the streets. When I reached my destination I quickly entered. Inside the adventurers guild was rather empty except one warrior standing in the adventurers line. The sweet scent of the fern like potted plants in each corner drifted over to me. I went to the counter for explorers and waited for someone to notice me.
Woman:"How may I help you?"
A woman that was probably getting ready to leave came out from a door that was behind the counter. She must have noticed me waiting and decided to see what I needed.
Becket:"I joined the guild not to long ago and lost my title stone thingy. Can I get a replacement?"
Woman:"Of course. I'm assuming you're rank is explorer since you got in this line?"
Becket:"Yes it is."
She nodded then disappeared into the back. She came back after a minute with a white stone attached to a black wristband.
Woman:"It'll cost you 10 amethyst."
Becket:"Ok."
I pulled out my coin pouch which I haven't had to use in a little while and passed her ten amethyst coins. She gave me the title stone and I pricked my finger then let the blood fall on it. The stone turned red and I put it on my wrist.
Woman:"Is that all?"
Becket:"Actually before I lost my title stone I was in a group of adventurers and I need to get into contact with one of them."
Woman:"Well did you lose your title stone while you were still registered as a group?"
Becket:"Yes."
Woman:"Well then let me see your title stone."
I stretched my hand out to her and she pulled out a blue stone then gently tapped it on my title stone.
Woman:"Ok it looks like you are still registered as a group, but most of the members appear to be dead or lost their title stone like you."
She frowned and looked at me.
Woman:"Only the adventurer Sasha seems to be alive and in possession of the same title stone."
I was curious so I asked.
Becket:"How can you tell who's dead?"
Woman:"The other title stones registered to your group have gone black. Once a title stone turns black that means either the user is dead or he got a new title stone so the old one becomes useless."
Becket:"Oh. So how can I get into contact with Sasha?"

Woman:"Since the two of you are still registered as a group you can send her a message."
Becket:"Really? How?"
Woman:"Simply pull up your status on the title stone and imagine the message you want to send to her then you'll get a pop up so all you have to do is confirm it."
*Thats sounds easy.*
Becket:"Thank you."
After I got the information I needed I left the adventurers guild. It had already gotten dark out and the streets were almost completely empty so I decided to check my status.
Becket:"Identify."

Becket:"Whats up with those titles. Now I'm starting to wonder who decides them."
I was a little annoyed at the titles, but moved on since I had a new ability.
Becket:"Vampire eyes huh."
I stood completely still and closed my eyes. Like I did when manifesting wings I decided to concentrate my mana into one spot in this case my eyes. After a few minutes I felt a slight irritation so I opened my eyes. At first I was surprised since it looked bright out and I knew it was dark just a few minutes ago.
Becket:"So I can see in the dark now."
I was happy since this was a very useful skill especially for a sniper. I didn't have a night vision or thermal scope so this would make up for that. I was having a little trouble with all the red dots that currently filled my vision, but after a few seconds I realized what they were. I was seeing the heartbeats of all living things around me.
Becket:"This is better than I expected."
I didn't think vampire eyes would be this useful. I would be using this ability a lot from now on. I walked over to a window near me and looked at my reflection. My eyes were glowing red like a vampires. I stopped sending mana to my eyes and they returned to their normal green color.
Since my new ability was figured out I decided to try sending that message. My status was still up so I closed my eyes again to concentrate on the message I wanted to send. After a few seconds I felt some of my mana slip into the title stone so I opened my eyes and saw a pop up.
Sasha it's me Becket. Let me know if you got this message.SendCancel
I confirmed it.
Becket:"Alright. I got everything I needed done. Time to head back to the palace."
I still needed to think of what to do regarding Esyns order. I certainly didn't want brain damage so I'll have to sleep with someone.
Becket:"I've still got a little time to decide."
I shrugged my shoulders and headed off towards the palace.
*****************Sylvia POV****************
After Becket and I separated I immediately made my way to Eva's room.
Sylvia:"She knows Becket so maybe she can tell me more about him."
I was dead set on finding out why he knew about the artifacts and it didn't look like he wanted to tell me so I decided to interrogate my daughter. She's the reason I let him stay in this palace and even shield him from the nobles that want revenge for Felix. It's not hard and kind of fun to mess with the nobles like this so I readily agreed when my daughter asked for my help.

Now that I know he has knowledge on the artifacts I don't want to scare him off so I can only gather information on him through my daughter. I didn't knock and just entered her room. She was in the middle of changing and nearly fell over from my surprising entrance.
Eva:"What are you doing mom! Knock first!"
Her face was red with anger since I startled her.
Sylvia:"I'm the queen. I don't need to knock."
I grinned. Seeing her angry always brings a smile to my face.
Eva:"Whatever."
She finished putting on her dress and turned to me.
Eva:"What do you want."
She crossed her arms and glared at me. I giggled.
Sylvia:"You know I'm sure Sir Becket would love to see the normal you instead of the princess persona you always put on when he's around."
Her glare sharpened.
Eva:"Just tell me what you want. I know you didn't come here to tease me about Becket."
Sylvia:"Well I kinda did."
Eva:"Then leave. You put me in a bad mood with your sudden visit."
*You're just embarrassed.*
I giggled again then put on a more serious face.
Sylvia:"I want you to tell me about Becket."
Eva:"Huh? Why?"
Sylvia:"He knows about some of the artifacts that even our top researcher couldn't figure out."
Eva turned away.
Eva:"Why should I tell you anything?"
I took a step closer to her.
Sylvia:"You know Becket isn't high enough in social standing to marry you."
Eva turned back around and looked into my eyes. After a few minutes they started to tear up.
Eva:"B-But I love him."
*Shes still a kid huh.*
Sylvia:"I know you do, and if you tell me more about him I might be able to find a reason to up his social status."
Eva:"Really?"
Sylvia:"Of course. He'll have to prove his worth to the kingdom so I need to know what his strengths are. Now tell me who is he exactly?"
I sat her down on the bed and she started to spill everything to me. It was a little hard to believe, but now that she mentions it I do remember her talking about marrying an elf when she was a kid. I knew my daughter wouldn't make up a lie like this so I decided to believe her. I let out a sigh while rubbing my temple.
Sylvia:"So the gods had you summon his soul from another world? Sounds kind of like the hero summons ritual only he didn't bring his body with him."
Eva:"So will you make him a noble now?"
Sylvia:"I'm sure he'll be able to gain enough social standing to marry you even without my help. I heard Aelisia talking about taking him as a new student. He might become a high ranking knight."
I stood up from the bed.
Sylvia:"I approve of you marrying him."
Eva:"Thank you mother!"
Eva jumped up and hugged me.
*An other worlder in the family could be a very good thing, but I'm a little worried how Eva will take it when he really does assemble a harem. She might not be able to accept it like she thinks.*
Eva released me from the hug and was now smiling.
Sylvia:"Actually I think you should probably keep up the sophisticated princess act. I get the feeling he prefers more mature women."
After I said that Eva's smile disappeared and she put on a more stoic face.
Eva:"Thank you mother."
She lightly bowed her head.
Sylvia:"Thats good, but you're still grinning a little."
She still hasn't perfected masking the emotions on her face, but she's almost there. I left her room and decided to head to the bath. The royal bath has a constant flow of fresh water coming in and the floor is lined with magic stones that keep the water warm. I undressed and entered. It was surprising to find someone else already in it.
Sylvia:"Hello?"
The woman turned around and looked at me. She had beautiful long red hair. Her body was tight with lean muscles, but they didn't bulge like most warriors. She had more a firm farmers body than a warriors.
Sylvia:"Who are you?"
Aelisia:"Yo."
She waved at me. She didn't seem to be hostile so I got into the bath. If she was able to sneak past the guards there's no way I'd be able to escape her anyway if she was here to kill me.
Sylvia:"So would you mind telling me your name?"
Aelisia:"So you don't recognize me? I guess that makes sense. I was about 60 when we first meet and you were only 5 then so you probably don't even know what my hair color was."
Sylvia didn't remember it, but Aelisia still had a single red streak of hair until she was 62.
Aelisia:"It's me Aelisia."
Sylvia:"................."
I wasn't really sure how to respond since this woman was way too young to be Aelisia. She might of even been younger than me. I'm only 30.
Aelisia:"It's thanks to Becket. He can return people's youth."
Now it started to make sense. How his match ended against Felix was finally clear to me.
Sylvia:"So he can do something like that."
*The need to keep him in our favor just increased.*
I couldn't help but smile.
Sylvia:"How does he do it?"
Aelisia:"A kiss."
Sylvia:"Hmmm. Maybe I should visit him tonight?"
Aelisia:"Hahaha! Sure you should!"
It was any woman's dream to have perpetual youth. Age is a woman's natural enemy. I sat back and enjoyed my bath as I thought of how much of an asset Becket would be.
Sylvia:"Oh yeah. How's Gideon doing?"
Aelisia:"Well he's feeling a little depressed."
Sylvia:"A depressed knight doesn't sound good."
Aelisia:"Well he's sulking over the fact that a vampire overpowered his will with compulsion."
Sylvia:"Well vampires are a very tricky race. Luckily their compulsion only works for a short amount of time otherwise they could rule over all the kingdoms."
Aelisia:"If it was anyone other than Bram, Gideon wouldn't have had his mind taken over. I hear Bram is the greatest vampire at using compulsion to be born within the last 600 years."
Sylvia:"At least they didn't turn him."
Aelisia:"Thats what I said. He told me he'd rather of died than be turned into Brams lackey. Now he's just sitting in his room doing god knows what."
Sylvia:"I'm surprised you didn't pull him out of there."
Aelisia:"I decided to give him a little time to himself. If he comes out on his own within the next two days I'll make his punishment lighter."
Sylvia:"Don't be too hard on him. He was being controlled."
Aelisia:"Thats no excuse. The idiot attacked the vampire nest alone after sending all the knights under him back to the palace."
Sylvia:"He's just a kid that wanted to show off to his mother. They all go through a stage like that."
Aelisia:"I know. That's why I gave him the chance to lighten the punishment. If he doesn't come out though I may make it worse."
Sylvia:"Well when he does come out he's in for a surprise. Think he'll recognize you?"
Aelisia:"He better. For his own good."
