《Greenskin》Chapter 31 - A Long Road To Teneir

It had been almost nine hours of riding now, the horses were tired, though they'd gotten a few short breaks, the walk had been a long one, and there progress was only hampered by the ever-wavering light of the wagon's lantern. The goblin had long fell asleep ontop of him, and hadn't woken once in the past hours. It was still somewhat dark, but the warrior knew the sun would soon begin to rise.
More importantly however, he knew that his eyes would soon shut. For rather clear reasons, he could hardly wake up the goblin and tell him to keep the horses on the road, so he instead lifted the creature's head from his lap, pulling the horses to a slow stop.
He carried the goblin in his arms as he made his way towards the back of the wagon; the drape parted as Kor'Ak pushed it aside, first putting the greenskinned little monster down onto the wooden boards that made up the wagon's floor, before pressing on into the wagon.
Laying spread out in a star-formation on the floor was the 'well-dressed' wizard, who was rudely awoken when a steel-covered boot gently kicked into his side. Well, the first kick didn't wake him, around the third strike, when Kor'Ak had become worried he might injure his employer, the comical mage sprang up onto his feet, his top-hat striking one of the willow-wood beams above him and falling off his still-moving head.
Kor'Ak quickly began to realise why the wizard wore such a hat in the first place.
Amongst all the messy blonde hair at the side of his head, a shining, bald line seemed to cut itself through his hair in the shape of an X. A scar, some of the scarred skin was covered by strings of thick yellow hair, but it's shape could be seen clearly.

It wasn't a wound that Kor'Ak had ever seen before, it wasn't a burn, the tissue was far too smooth; nor was it from a deep cut, the tissue wasn't raised in comparison to the rest of the skin, and seemed to say on the same height, but it was merely a bit paler than Kelvin's already waifish appearance.
The adventurer stayed silent as Kevlin bent down to retrieve his hat. Scars often meant wounds that were more than just physical, and with the baggage he himself carried, he thought it best to leave the matter be.
That being said, it was the wizard's turn to keep watch and keep them on the road.
"Mr Sescenti, give the horses a half-hours rest and feed them, then get us moving, the sun will rise soon; be sure to wake us if there's trouble."
The wizard nodded, still rubbing sleep from his eyes as he started on his way to the front of the wagon. Though his voice was noticeably different in his more exhausted state; clearly a little deeper, and not over-flowing with pep and positivity. "Y-yeah, alright, yeah, I'll be right on it" It would seem even his odd manner of speaking was gone.
If Kor'Ak hadn't felt his eyes already shutting to a close, he would've spent some time to think on the ever-odd wizard's change in manners and actions, but, as he lay on the wooden floor besides Steal, head rested on Kelvin's endless luggage, it didn't see, to matter all that much. After all, he'd... had a... long... night...
The exhausted adventurer's eyes finally snapped shut.
Kor'Ak wasn't expecting to wake up to the feeling of cold steel pressing against his throat however.

MeiQ: Lore of the Labyrinth
Omaros City lays near one of several Yggdrasil trees that are scattered around the world. Each tree holds an entire labyrinthine ecosystem within or beneath it, yet the mysteries of their origins and what lays in their depths are only ever unraveled by the most skilled and courageous of explorers. Exploration of Omaros' Yggdrasil labyrinth is still in its fledgling stages, drawing in many with the allure of fame and glory that has yet to be claimed. Enter the harbinger Dubhan—cheerful, determined, and not terribly skilled at thinking ahead—and warlock Allouet— intelligent and resourceful, but desperately in over his head. Together, the two of them have half an idea of what they're doing at best, but that's not going to stop them from aiming for the labyrinth's unknown depths. MeiQ is, at its core, a fanfiction inspired by the Etrian Odyssey franchise, alternatively known as Sekaiju no Meikyuu in Japan. Despite that, it is written with the intent to be enjoyable by those unfamiliar with the series as well. The characters and the city of Omaros are original, while the story draws upon lore and recurring concepts from the game series. However, Etrian Odyssey is known for its lore being sparse and open to speculation, so much of the details provided in this story are exactly that—a fan’s speculation and personal expansion of the lore. This story was also inspired by and written as part of HereBeTreasure's Fast Food Frontpage Competition, enjoy some simple dungeon exploration plot and whatever else pops up from this.

Unlimited Phantasm
DEATH While there is a difference as to when a person or object will "end," it is certain that they will all arrive at that point because death is not something that "arrives," but rather is something already contained within an object at its creation and certainly bound to happen as part of the principle of causality.
