《Greenskin》Chapter 4 - Pride Goeth

The rogue moved silently as the goblins kept sneaking along; just because the green little shits were light, it didn't mean that they were silent. The creatures moved far too clumsily to sneak up on anyone with even the slightest modicum of awareness. Richard, although he weighed more than both of the snot-skinned neanderthals moved with an almost eerie silence, the black-leather clothed man drew a short, thin dagger from one of the many rather pointless bandoliers and belts that made his already shifty looking get-up look like bondage gear. A second, lighter dagger was drawn from a belt that wrapped around his thigh, Richard grabbed the dagger by the tip of its blade, held delicately in his fingers.
Steal was following after Blud, the path was still gloomy as ever, but as they advanced, the air turned chilly and dry; a far cry from the warm, humid air from the depths of their birthplace.
SCHWING
Blud screeched in pain as a dagger sliced into his back, the leading goblin stumbled forwards as he reeled away, searching for what had attacked him. Steal peeled his eyes away from his injured kin after a brief moment, screeching at Blud "You okay? Adventurer? Find him, get him!" The goblin span around as his foe quickly closed in; Steal swung his wooden staff like a bludgeon at the approaching human; wood hit iron as the rogue parried the goblin's wild swing. The frail goblin tried to let out a surprised growl but was cut short as his opponent's free hand wrapped around his skinny throat, squeezing as the creature instinctively tried to breathe in, to no avail.

As Steal gasped for air, the rogue was forced to let go, his wounded brother came running, bloodied muscles on his shoulder rippling as he swung his blade desperately overhead, trying to bring the iron sword down into the rogue's midsection. A tried and true attack. Against a frail, surprised buffoon. The dexterous rogue stepped backwards, letting only the tip of the relatively short blade stroke gently against his leather cuirass, the sword caught on the thick leather of one of the rogue's many belts and sliced it in two, a number of odd-looking flasks and trinkets clattered to the ground.

As Richard was moving to dodge Blud's swing, Steal caught his breath, coughing viciously before dropping his looted staff and leaping at the pre-occupied rogue. With the rogue already moving, the goblin's light and gnarled body were just enough to make him stumble back further. Due to an incredible stroke of luck, the rogue caught his foot on one of the many small recesses in the cave floor, tripping backwards and landing on his ass. Blud took advantage of the slight opportunity that Steal had given him, he raised his shortsword again, dashed forwards and brought it down towards his somewhat immobilised foe.
A flash of steel and blood was drawn. The goblin's blade clattered to the ground and Blud looked wide-eyed at his downed foe, the man's arm was extended, and for some reason, the knife he had been holding was no longer in his hand. It took the relatively moronic creature a moment to realise what had happened, and another moment for its body to process the deep slash that sliced a bloodied gash across the goblin's now-torn jugular.
Steal watched his companion let out a defiant, wretched gurgle as a spurt of crimson erupted from his neck; then silence, interrupted by the rogue's chuckle.
"Dun Dun Dun, and another one bites the dust."

The Harrowbird's Crown
(Formerly: Tales of a Harrowed House) Synopsis: This is the tale of an exiled royal family who, after their bloody reunion on the island of Providence, return to a war-torn homeland where once more, powerful forces pit sibling against sibling in a bid for the crown — and once more, the magical streets of Auctor echo their infamous motto: “Fire will Reign as Harrowbirds Soar!” From his humble beginnings as a shoemaker’s son, his year spent as a daringly brazen orphan caught between rivaling Houses and a mad ghost, and his fight for the crown after his return to Auctor, Corbyn faces a coming-of-age story unlike any before him as he discovers magic and birthright are two things he never knew he had. From the intimate narrative of a childhood that was never her own, her year spent struggling to find the person she is rather than the person her family needs her to be, the secrets she hides, and the truths she finds, Halle discovers herself on the fabled island of Providence as her House collapses around her, bids to enter a legendary school of magic in her homeland of Auctor, and fights for a crown she never knew she wanted. A high-action, character-focused story written with a poet’s styling, The Harrowbird’s Crown is a tale that will transport readers into the conflict and conquest of a royal family back on the rise. General Information: This story is more traditionally plotted. While the beginning may seem to start out slowly, when shit hits the fan: the action is constant, the mysteries are satisfying, and the character development is rewarding. Chapters are usually between 2.5-3.5 thousand words (though some, like the first and second chapters, can run up to 5k words). When it’s long it means that the chapter will just have that much content in it. There’s Action, Mystery, Fantasy, Comedy, and some Psychological undertakings. Romance hasn’t come up yet, but it may in future chapters. I try to have chapters out every Sunday at 7:00 CST Book One: The Ghost of Providence

The Puppy Project
"Give me my puppy!" I demanded, my eyes ablazed with fiery anger."Correction, it's not your puppy. It's our puppy," He smiled, but it was anything but sweet nor happy."You know what? Damn you! You're nothing but a cold, emotionless, and heartless bad boy!" I sneered, glaring at him fiercely. He chuckled at my words, taking a step closer to me. He slammed his hand unto the wall, trapping me, before leaning in close. "You got that right sweetheart but I think you got one thing wrong." He said, his eyes piercing straight into mine."And what is that?" I managed to asked, my throat seeming to get drier the more he looked at me."I'm neither one of those when I'm with you," and with those words, slammed his lips into mine.#1 in Strong-Female Character - 1/29/21#1 in Sarcasm - 2/4/21#2 in BadBoy - 2/13/21#3 in Teen Fiction - 2/13/21#1 in Mysterious - 3/4/21Copyrighted 2017.
