《Sword Immortal's Rebirth》Chapter 106: True Strength Unleashed, Battle of Chaos Sovereigns! (2)

The swordlight struck the blackhole-like light, and was absorbed into it. But instead of having its force absorbed to attack Heifeng Jiansui, the force of the Nine Elements was reversed! Turned by the built up sword momentum and the peerless swordlight, the attack was sent flying to strike Nineorigin.
Facing the momentum, Nineorigin simply flicked her finger to dissipate the energy. The power dispersed through the arena that had been constructed for their battle, leaving spiderweb-like faultlines on the ground and creating an earthquake. The swordlight controlling the energy faded away as well.
Having her attack be reversed into returning at her, Nineorigin felt vigilant against Heifeng Jiansui. Yet suddenly, she felt a sudden pain on her side. There was a sword piercing into her left shoulder, boring a hole into flesh and bone.
“Eh, you are only this strong? Even for a world spirit, you are still as young as my twin disciples after all.” With these dismissive words, Heifeng Jiansui withdrew his sword, flicking the blade to clean it of the blade before unsheathing it. “I suppose this match has ended. 5 seconds, that was pretty boring.”
Suddenly, the space surrounding him seemed to freeze as he was surrounded by nine different-colored suns as swords formed on the ground. “…That hurt, I’ll make you pay.” Nineorigin’s voice sounded offended, and a blast of nine-elemental flames flew at him, something he waved off with a sword strike.
The flames rained down surrounding him. Looking around, Heifeng Jiansui found himself staring at 10 differently colored square barriers trapping him from each side. One side each for one of the Nine Origin Elements and adding another side for the Sword Dao… It was as if he had been trapped in a 10-sided dice. This was a world-sealing technique!
Casually deflecting the flames with his sword, Heifeng Jiansui looked around to find Nineorigin impishly waving at him from outside the dice. “Let’s see how you smash out of this cage! Quick, quick, don’t you have less than a minute?”
“Heh, that’s right… I should end this quickly.” Having been sealed by a world, Heifeng Jiansui nonchalantly replied. He drew his sword once again, the nine runes upon it shining like nine suns.

“Did you… forget my trump card?” This wasn’t simply a sword, this was also a world! One draw, one swing! The 10 sided dice-cage that trapped Heifeng Jiansui shattered in a blink!
Sheathing his sword once more, he walked towards Nineorigin step by step. “How many tricks do you have left?”
“Yeah, a hastily constructed sealing boundary was ineffective, as expected. Yet it did buy a little time. Dear disciple, let me teach you the true might of a World!” Nineorigin confidently said this, all while her fingers were flicking to form seals. Heifeng Jiansui braced himself, yet he still couldn’t anticipate the attack.
He suddenly found himself standing upon an oval circle floating in space, facing tens of thousands of ‘paths’ that crisscrossed into each other or abruptly terminated. Far on the other side, there was another oval circle. Suddenly, the foothold he was upon began crumbling, forcing him to step upon a path.
“So this illusion has principles of space, the ‘point, line and plane’. Tens of thousands of illusionary choices, with only one true path. To break through, I must use the power of ‘Fate’, but well, I do have a easier option…” Smirking, Heifeng Jiansui began tapping his fingers in the air. It was as if he was typing on a keyboard.
Tens of thousands of 0 and 1 figures appeared, flying at the countless paths before him. With the principle of binary, every bit represented a choice, the natural counter for the array with only a single choice before him. One by one, all but one path before him was eliminated, this trial simplified into nothingness by the simple power of brute force calculations. Stepping onto the path, he quickly turned into a streak of swordlight, breaking out of the illusion easily.
When he stepped out, Nineorigin seemed dissatisfied, “I never thought your accomplishment in forecasting Fate surpassed me.”
“I didn’t use the Dao of Heavenly Fate, I used a cheap trick to brute force my way out. Now, let’s see what other tricks you have!” Heifeng Jiansui’s admission that he didn’t use his comprehension of Heavenly Fate to break out surprised Nineorigin.

Pausing for a moment, she began, “Well, it seems cheap tricks won’t be enough to beat you. But, I seem to have exhausted my repertoire… Well, one thing remains. Do you dare compete with a World Spirit in the domain it is most gifted in?”
Saying this, nine great spheres containing tens of thousands of runes revolving with them appeared in the skies. Comprising the Nine Elements which granted the Nineorigin Chaosworld its name, it contained the full comprehension of the Nine Supreme Dao that were the core of the world. Settling around Nineorigin in a circular formation with her as the center, they started emitting light and swallowing all the energy with the surrounding space.
What Nineorigin meant was simple. Having embarked on the path of the World Dao in this era, do you dare compete with it?
With the energy pulled into nurturing the nine cores, the laws intertwining to form a miracle, a new natural law was formed, signaling the formation of a world! With the Nine Elements as the core, a boundless sword aura appeared. The 10th Dao that gathered the core elements and fused them to form a might surpassing the individual parts, the Sword Dao! A Swordworld was formed!
Facing this, Heifeng Jiansui didn’t take any actions, only examining Nineorigin’s world creation with a interested eye. Why would he need to create a world? Didn’t he have a perfect Swordworld sheathed on his side?
“Heh, have you given up? Or are you unconfident?” Nineorigin smiled at him who hadn’t taken a single action.
“Is your World Creation complete? I have a Swordworld by my side, and it doesn’t take this long to cast.” Heifeng Jiansui even took the opportunity to criticize Nineorigin’s skill!
Without replying back, Nineorigin simply called upon the Swordworld she had formed. A boundless force, the might of a world locked down on Heifeng Jiansui. There were Nine Elemental auras allow converged together by a majestic Sword Intent. But facing it, Heifeng Jiansui didn’t feel the least threat.
There was a vast Swordworld that was like the Heavens and Heifeng Jiansui who was like an ant. With a single thought, the Swordworld fell upon him. Heifeng Jiansui unsheathed Nineprime, and the sword hovered by his side. With a single thought, a boundless sword intent came into existence.
Nineorigin braced herself. Heifeng Jiansui had only one path left, to unleash the Swordworld within the Nineprime Sword and compete directly against her. Within her blood, she felt a ardent longing, to see the might of the sword that defended the Chaosworld at its weakest and allowed her to exist!
“…You made a mistake. If it were literally any other combination of Supreme Daos you used to form a world, I would be forced to unleash Nineprime’s true power. But you actually used a Nine Elemental World…” Heifeng Jiansui couldn’t help but shake his head. The cultivation path he embarked on was of fusing the Nine Elements into the Sword Dao, and at the end of it, he formulated a Swordworld based on that path within the Nineprime Sword.
Having tread on this path until its end, wouldn’t it be embarrassing if he didn’t have any way to counter other than using his trump card?
“First Sword! Fivefade Quintessence!” Heifeng Jiansui cast the first sword technique of the set that granted him the title of the strongest in the past era. With a single thought, the Nineprime sword flew into the skies. A five-colored light formed upon it, slight yet unfading, trembling yet sturdy. Like a meteor falling to devastate a world, it flew towards the Nine Elemental Swordworld.
Just like billions of years ago, in the past era. When Heifeng Jiansui was a misfortunate child who could only flee from forces beyond his comprehension, he saw a meteor flying like this. Like a fortuitous chance that fell from the skies, the Nineprime Sword was like an unforgettable falling star…

Bloodlines
Bloodlines is the first major story set in the far larger and immensely connected universe known as Infinitum. A group of renegades and misfits take into the sky in their fancy skyship to fulfill the prophecy they don't care about and defeat the Empire they care even less about. In the process, they learn things (they would rather not) of the fucked up Universe, dead gods, and the future that holds no mercy. Bloodlines draws inspiration from One Piece. But in the bigger picture, Bloodlines is one of many stories set in Cosmere-like universe where plots stretch beyond planets and star systems and stakes are higher than godhood (like in Malazan chronicles). Currently, I am planning to finish the first arc [Bandit Arc], add 10k words interlude with some revelations, then publish a story happening elsewhere. Then I will be back to write the second arc. For now, the Fifth Region has 8 arcs planned. Officially, there are 5 regions. The Fifth Region is not the shortest but is far from the longest regions. - PS. Pay attention to flavor text. Chapters published weekly.
