《Sword Immortal's Rebirth》Chapter 71: Quintessence Sword Sect (4)

The three beauties trailed behind Heifeng Jiansui as he walked through the sect like it was the back of his hand. Passing through the Nine Great Worlds, they passed by various Worlds like the Trial World containing various trials and temperings, Auxiliary World containing various treasures refined for the disciples, the Boundless Scripture World containing the various manuals that Heifeng Jiansui had plundered from the previous era… Finally arriving at the Sword Contemplation World, the largest Great World that formed the core of the Ninelight Stellar Circuit.
The Sword Contemplation World was vast without end. It seemed to have been covered by an illusion, sending the endless majesty of Heifeng Jiansui’s Quintessence Sword Dao to enlighten all those who came seeking it.
But this group didn’t seek for it. Heifeng Jiansui walked in a secret path unraveling the illusion of boundlessness. His path lead to a great door that was engraved with countless runes containing the principles of Heifeng Jiansui’s Quintessence Sword Dao. The secret behind this door was protected by this door which he had spent ten millennia engraving.
“Both of you, ready yourselves.” Heifeng Jiansui stood in front of the door like a guard. The girls braced themselves for a surprise that would turn their worlds around.
With a single touch of Heifeng Jiansui’s finger, the laws of the seals on the door unraveled. The door opened up and the group entered.
Inside the room, there were countless runes of the Quintessence Sword Path. Entering this place step by step, the group could see the effort Heifeng Jiansui had made to seal this place from the world’s eyes.
As they walked further inside, the runes began to lessen. They soon found out that they were the only light source with this place, walking further into darkness.
But as they walked step by step into the secret area and approached its core, they could feel the boundless majesty of the Quintessence Sword Dao weaken. Instead a cold, pure sword aura could be noticed.
This sword aura seemed simple but could encapsulate worlds within. It was hard to notice, but its majesty surpassed Heifeng Jiansui’s sword aura.
Heifeng Jiansui didn’t flinch as he resolutely walked forward. They were in absolute darkness but had already reached the point where the Quintessence Sword Dao could no longer be felt.
In this unknown darkness, Nineorigin could feel that her connection to the Chaosworld was reducing. She wanted to walk forward regardless, but Heifeng Jiansui’s words stopped her.
“Stand guard here.” Saying this, he stopped Nineorigin. “You are the strongest among us… If anything untoward happens, only you can save us.”

After saying this, Heifeng Jiansui ran to catch up with his two disciples who seemed to have been bewitched by the sword aura. Seeing them walking like drunks towards the aura’s origin, he burnt his blood essence, spiritual essence and innate qi to forcibly create a Sword Domain and break them out of their daze.
Sensing the Sword Domain enveloping them, the twins snapped out to look at their attacker, only to flinch at Heifeng Jiansui’s ragged appearance. A moment ago he attacked existences on the top of the cultivation ladder as a mortal and suffered badly for it.
“Don’t get distracted by the Clear Jade Sword Intent. Sit down here and meditate, acclimate yourself with the sword intent. But do not try to gain insight into it. Simply reach the state where you do not enter a fatal distraction due to it…” Heifeng Jiansui instructed the twins before swallowing some pills to help his recovery.
Looking at their master who was still a mortal, they knew that he would have taken up a huge loss by awakening them. Ashamed, they immediately sat down and obeyed his instructions. Heifeng Jiansui took the chance to take some pills to accelerate recovery before sitting down to meditate.
After an hour or so, they had reached the level where they could move forward clearheaded. Thus, the three of them walked step by step into the core.
After an indefinite amount of time, they saw a ray of clear white light shining through the darkness. After urging the twins to ignore it, they observed more and more light cut through the darkness.
In the end, when there was no darkness and no shadows, the three realized that they were closer to their destination. Nevertheless, the time spent reaching it was like years.
There was a flying sword floating by itself in the middle of the room. The clear jade blade illuminated the surroundings. The countless runes forged on it held boundless mystery. This was a Sword Dao that surpassed that of Heifeng Jiansui!
The twins were spellbound by that sword, immediately closing their eyes to sense the Dao within it. The path that they had stepped onto, when taken to its limits, would lead to this! A single meditation session might lead to them breaking through to Perpetual Emperors!
However, the cold voice of their master broke them out of their meditation. “Since you’ve seen your inheritance, let’s go back.”
Broken out of meditation and deprived of a lucky chance, they two couldn’t help but angrily glare at Heifeng Jiansui. But seeing him bleeding from all his pores shook them off their anger.

His cultivation level was low and the Sword Dao practiced by him conflicted with the Clear Jade Sword. Even standing would end up with him risking his life…
Seeing him like this, both of them immediately held him by two sides and ran back, without a second glance at the Clear Jade Sword.

When Nineorigin saw Heifeng Jiansui’s bloodied figure, she immediately healed him to full recovery in a blink.
“It seems that I did need you to save me… Thanks.” At his thanks, she simply nodded. The three of them walked together out of the secret sealed area, and Heifeng Jiansui locked the doors again. The Clear Jade Sword Dao was once again covered by the Quintessence Sword Dao.
“So that’s your future weapon. The Clear Jade Sword is pretty fantastic isn’t it?” At his words, the twins couldn’t help but remember their anger at him for taking away their chance to meditate on it. Their heads immediately dipped in shame.
“Don’t worry about meditating on the sword’s principles until you breakthrough to Perpetual Emperor. For now, you have a good understanding of the Clear Jade Sword Dao. You have my Quintessence Sword Dao as well. Both of you practice the principles of Yin-Yang Coexistence Dao. Using the Clear Jade Sword Dao as the foundation and the other two as supports, you can already form your Path of Perpetuity. Comprehend the Clear Jade Sword Dao, refine it as your foundation and perhaps you will be able to take the Clear Jade Sword for yourself.” Heifeng Jiansui’s advice was fully digested by the twins.
“Sect Master, why is meditating on it before breakthrough to a Perpetual Emperor incorrect?” Fu Li couldn’t restrain her curiosity and finally asked.
“Both of you have been cultivating my Quintessence Sword Dao since you were mortals. Most of the world has tried cultivating it, in fact. Still there hasn’t been any side-effects like bewilderment of mind, soul damage or worse. This is because my Quintessence Sword Dao is pure.”
“If it were a scripture, jade slip or stele containing the Clear Jade Sword Codex or similar, you could have happily cultivated it. But it’s a sword with the Clear Jade Sword Intent mixed with the other Dao, principles and laws cultivated by its wielder. If you recklessly gain insight into it before forming your Path to Perpetuity, you’ll end up locked on to the path of that Sword’s previous master. That… will be disappointing.” Hearing Heifeng Jiansui’s words, the twins froze.
Following the Path to Perpetuity of another person… needless to say, it restricted the cultivation to Perpetual Emperor, and the weakest Perpetual Emperor at that. There were ways to cultivate further like gaining the complete inheritance of the person they followed. There were even ways to surpass these limitations.
Unfortunately, all this was only in rumors. The Nineorigin Chaosworld didn’t have many legacies of Perpetual Emperors. The Clear Jade Sword was found by him due to a ridiculously lucky chance.
“That said, don’t forget what I said before: the Clear Jade Sword Dao was quite popular in the era before the previous era. I gathered some records and have some foundation methods for cultivating it. Go look for it in the library later.” Saying this, Heifeng Jiansui transmitted a location in the Boundless Scripture World to the twins.
“We thank the Sect Master for his graciousness.” The twins once again bowed to him.
“You two now know the ultimate weapon of this Chaosworld that surpasses Perpetual Emperors, the Clear Jade Sword. You have experienced the Clear Jade Sword Dao. You even have its cultivation methods. All you have to do is pave a Path to Perpetuity of your own, awaken the Sword Spirit sleeping within and bind the sword to yourself. Easy, right?” At Heifeng Jiansui’s joking words, the twins nodded with determination.
“Don’t hurry on your path, steadily forge forward. Even if the sky falls, there are still Perpetual Emperors to push it up. And even if I am weak now, I still live. So there is no need to worry…” Heifeng Jiansui said this as he patted the twins on their heads.
“Anyway I won’t keep you here longer. Yeah, I know you want to go to the library. Scram already, you two.” At his command, the twins bowed once more before leaving.
“Both of them are the most talented disciples I have ever had… Too bad they are not fated with my Quintessence Sword Sect.” Heifeng Jiansui sighed as he spoke to Nineorigin.
Nineorigin looked at him in askance, “What do you mean? Aren’t those two your disciples?”
“They are fated with the Clear Jade Sword Dao, fated to pioneer the Clear Jade Sword Dao and create a new Sword Sect. Thus, they cannot lead my Quintessence Sword Sect to glory… I’ll need a new successor this era…” Heifeng Jiansui’s eyes flashed as he spoke.

Grinning Enigma
Freddy is a very bad boy. Meets some people that know what he did. He tries to escape punishment, makes it [Redacted]. Freddy might be a mass-murdering troll, but he isn’t a bad person, right? Right? Disclaimer: This is not an instruction manual. If you want to be a horrible human being, go figure it out yourself. Autopsy: Writing this story gave me some degree of insight into how much I've managed to fuck up my own personality by suppressing basic needs. Now I hate myself even more. It started as a story where the MC was supposed to be a blend of the NZ-land shooter and other cancerous personalities. That way I wouldn't feel bad about torturing him. Instead I ended up witnessing all the worst aspects of my own personality, or lack thereof. I'm a horrid person, I can't even bring myself to do what's the only right thing at this point.
