And thus, six months passed and the fated day arrived. The ceremony would begin at 9’o clock at night, so quite some time was left.

In the middle of the ruins of the Ninebless Phoenix Sect, a large raised platform was built, upon which the Phoenix Egg was raised. Under the platform, 9 aquaduct-like structures which conveyed energy instead of water were gathered. This was the core of the 999 Phoenix Domain formation that would gather all energy to rejuvenate the egg.

“The plan hinges on killing off all beasts before we begin the ceremony. Of course, it is best if the slaughter is finished in a short amount of time before the ceremony, but…” Heifeng Jiansui and Ninebless were having final discussions before setting off their plans.

“Don’t worry… If it was me of 4 years before, it would have been difficult… but me as of now can absolutely massacre all the beasts in the quarter of an hour.” Ninebless had a determined expression on her face.

“So be it… I will make some preparations for the ceremony tonight. Also, I will have to warn my maids and the villagers to not get out tonight.” Saying this, Heifeng Jiansui left. Ninebless longingly looked at the Phoenix Egg.

Originally, she was to be born as a Fire Phoenix. Five centuries ago, fate wrested it away, and today, fate was returning it to her!

Hours passed by in the blink of an eye and night arrived. It was now a quarter to 9, and in the ruins of the sect, Heifeng Jiansui held two unconscious beasts, Flamemane Lion and Iceblood Tiger. The two beasts were the strongest on the island, but even so, they had been mercilessly captured by him.

Meanwhile, Ninebless was roaming through the Island’s forests like a phantom. Whenever she met a beast, a strand of spiritual energy would shoot out from her eyes, rendering the beasts into entering a berserk frenzy. The beasts would run around killing anything that lived, and would die when they had nothing to kill. Using her prodigious spiritual sense, she hunted down every single beast on the island and forced it into frenzy!

After she witnessed every single beast’s death, she returned to the centre of the Ninebless Phoenix Sect’s ruins, entering the centre where Heifeng Jiansui was awaiting her.

“Quickly wrap yourself around the egg!” Following Heifeng Jiansui’s instruction, she forced her spirit body to wrap around the egg like cloth, without forcing herself inside. At that moment, Heifeng Jiansui jumped onto the platform and killed the two beasts with two barehanded strikes. After this, he stood on the platform, with his back pressed against the Phoenix Egg…

The death of the two beasts was the trigger for the formation. From the ruins which were located in the island’s centre, a wave of destructive energy rippled out onto the quiet island, only missing Heifeng Jiansui’s manor and the village. It was mercilessly turning all the remains of the beasts that were killed during the frenzied genocide into pure essence, spirit and qi. The beasts that somehow survived were killed by this energy as well!

From death, comes life. Following this, the power of destruction gave rise to creation. The pure energy gathered from the destruction of the entirety of the island’s beast population merged with the Spirit Ponds and leyline openings to gather all energy into the centre of the island, the Ninebless Sect’s ruins, by the will of the formation!

All mortals without cultivation had a breath of gaseous qi running through their veins. As they entered Body Transformation Boundary to transform their bodies, it would step-by-step transform into True Qi, Spiritual Qi and finally, Yuan Qi.

At the end of Body Transformation, the cultivator would step into the new boundary of Life Desolation. The Heavens would destroy their 9-layer perfected bodies with the power of Desolation, and the cultivators would oppose the Heavens for the miracle of rebirth, gathering 9 layers into one, forming Life Qi within themselves!

This Life Qi was the instrument of rebirth. Since Ninebless was a Phoenix Spirit, her lack of understanding on formations was understandable. But she never thought that her master would actually defy the Heavens to gather Life Qi in this place!

As long as this Life Qi would form her body, she would have a peerless advantage in terms of fleshly body! Her lifespan, even if she rejected the path of cultivation, would be of thousand years. No, with a body formed from Life Qi and her bloodline of a phoenix, even if she didn’t cultivate, energy would gather within her body and her cultivation would automatically rise!

With the Life Qi circulating around him, Heifeng Jiansui started carrying out the movements of the Phoenixflame Marrowforge. With the Life Qi surrounding him resonating with the Bloodline energy within him, the bloodline energy rose to a frenzied high! With every moment, his body seemed to burn and the clothes he wore, despite being top-grade Mortal equipment, were slowly but surely burnt to crisps. Finally, Heifeng Jiansui completed the exercise with his right hand on his temple and his left hand on his heart.

It would certainly be convenient that the use of Life Qi would allow him to complete the technique without using needles. However unfortunately, this was impossible.

The 999 Phoenix Nirvanic Formation covered the entirety of the island, with the 900 formation pillars set up to gather all energy into Life Qi. Thus the rest of the formation linchpins were used to deposit the energy onto the platform. But now that all Life Qi was deposited, they were filled with the power of Death Qi!

99 and 9 form 108. 108 formation linchpins in the form of piercing needles thrust into the body of Heifeng Jiansui!

With his body pierced on all his acupoints, Heifeng Jiansui couldn’t move. However, he didn’t need to move for this either. Power filled both of his fingers. One hand shattered his temple, throwing grey brain matter everywhere while the other destroyed his heart, stopping his heartbeat!

These two parts were vital to body and soul, with their destruction being prelude to death! However, with the abundant Life Qi gathered within his body, Heifeng Jiansui was still able to live.

With his eyes open, Heifeng Jiansui quelled the desire to faint. By destroying the two vital points, he had removed the powers gathered within them. Within his heart dwelled a Chaoseed, an immensely condensed power of Chaos, and something unsuited to a novice cultivator. With the brain was something he considered as his battle spirit, the Dao-records of his beloved sword Nineprime from his previous life!

The two of them, chaoseed and battle spirit fused together to give rebirth to the weapon that was once supreme across the entire Chaosworld!

Meanwhile, Heifeng Jiansui’s physique began to undergo rebirth as well. The Phoenixblood Marrowforge was finally cultivated to completion. The power of the Black Phoenix surged within him as three more Seals of the Black Phoenix Nine Daos were unveiled, unleashing the power of Nirvana Rebirth!

And of course, Ninebless’ spirit completed its fusion with the Egg. And thus, the conditions for her rebirth were fulfilled as well.

Man, weapon and sword! At this moment when the barriers of the dimensions were weakened, they severed their fate to accomplish rebirth!

In accordance with Heifeng Jiansui’s divination, the dimensional barriers were weakened at this moment, allowing the power of the Chaosworld to easily gather here.

From the Solar Star, Sun, the purest essence of Fire fell.

From the Lunar Star, Moon, the purest essence of Ice fell.

From the Nine Supreme Worlds, the purest elemental essences fell.

As fated, the three energies mutually supported each other, bringing greater benefits to those who whose fate was to be baptized by them! And their collective power gathered onto the centre of the Ninebless Island, onto the bodies of the three changing their fate and accomplishing rebirth!

When Heifeng Jiansui opened his eyes, he saw that his body was glowing with the light of nine runes. Waving his fingers, ice and fire were summoned. With another flick, lightning flashed and wind slashed! This was the power gained by breaking the 9 seals of his bloodline, undergoing nirvanic rebirth and unveiling the First Dao of the Black Phoenix Nine Daos: The Dao of Ice-Fire while stepping into the second Dao of Wind-Thunder!

Checking his body, he realized that his entire bloodline had completely transformed. The Black Phoenix lineage within his body was pure… his bloodline was of a Black Phoenix, his battle spirit was of a Black Phoenix, his physique was of a Black Phoenix and his spirit was of a Black Phoenix… That is to say that even his human bloodline had disappeared.

Heifeng Jiansui couldn’t help but feel that he lost something important. After all, his previous life that stretched over countless years had been lived as a human.
