《Dragon, Silver Dragon》Afterword

Where to begin? I have RPed a dragon for over a decade. Both in forum style and as of late, in the world of Second Life. It has given me a different view of dragons. It is not an easy thing to play a dragon as a character and do it realistically. For one thing, space is a premium. You do not land a multi ton, multi story flying creature in the middle of a town. Seriously. Not unless you wish to risk breaking your wings or anything that happens to be in the street at the time. Likewise, a true dragon is a very hard thing to kill. With just those two factors in mind, they become very aloof creatures. you cannot just drop in to visit friends and what friends you do have will probably not be around in a century or two.
The makeup of a dragon would naturally tend to be isolationist. Even with the knowledge that they have picked up over time, there is little way for them to apply it in a real world setting. Few could imagine a dragon's views. There is little that they would see that would be new to them, which would also make for an almost tunnel vision. His surprise at finding the mostly carved dragons on the mountian and the lairs which he flew by repeatedly is a prime case of this. He had seen the mountains, why focus on them? He was more interested in the city that had bloomed outside his lair ring.
It was also brought up that he did not focus on the details. That should actually be pretty obvious.
What goal do you have when there is nothing that can challenge you? Where do you find drive when you have entire universes at your claws? What do you buy when you own the wealth of a thousand worlds? Where do you call home when you don’t even know the name of the planet you live on?

I think the best word to describe it would be jaded. It comes down to; is it important enough to influence him or whatever he is working on or with. If not? Then why pay attention to it?
Now that is over with, why I really decided to add this. Thank you. I have never tried to put a story down like this and I have never had formal training in writing. To tell the truth, I had to look up some of the references that some had written about in their comments. What you have given me a starting point. I know now what I have to learn to write something decent now. I did pay attention to every comment. Even the ones that I had a hard time taking seriously. Your comments are what I needed to give me a direction in which to improve. To all that commented, to all that read it.
Thank you

Death's Emissary
Caught in a conflict between gods, Scarlet is forced to serve the goddess of Death to save her own life. When her mother goes missing, Scarlet becomes determined to use her newly acquired prowess as a mage to rescue her—which means entrenching herself further in Death's battle against Riordan, a power-hungry god who seeks to control mortals and immortals alike. Dante would do anything to protect the people he cares about, but he isn’t safe himself. Magic is illegal, and it’s getting harder to hide that he’s a mage. Visions of the past and future haunt him, and it won’t be possible to protect himself and his magically-inclined sister forever. When his quiet life is torn away, he’s forced to face his powers and a whole new world. Someone stole Jarrett’s memories. He isn’t going to stop searching until he finds out who—and why. In the meantime, his focus is on commanding a secret rebellion force in hopes of securing autonomy for the oppressed mages of the kingdom. Their fates collide as they become entrenched in the battle against Riordan. To have any chance of slaying a god and freeing themselves from his tyranny, they’ll have to place trust in the right allies and master newfound powers.

Duck Around and Find Out
Flap never wanted to be anything more than a pond duck. He was perfectly happy with his life of mating, migrating, and eating fish. But all that changed when a spacefaring race of war-crazed giant chickens confused him for Earth's greatest gladiator, all on account of a sketchy lease deal from a few million years prior. Now Flap is Earth's Champion, unwittingly wrapped up in a high stakes conflict almost as old as time itself. Armed with a real dumbass of an artificial intelligence, a brain full of pop culture mush, and a hybrid body courtesy of an Academy Award-winning actor, Flap now has all the tools he needs to prevail in the bloody contest. The only question is whether he can learn to use them to save the Galaxy before his implant drives him nuts. Duck Around and Find Out is an absurd adventure across space and pond featuring GameLit elements, more movie and tv references than you can shake a stick at, and a cast of anthropomorphic animals that would make a furry cream their pants. Do you like ducks? And do you like space? Are you also a weirdo? If you answered yes to all three, this just might be the story for you. So if you're brave enough, Duck Around and Find Out.

Family of Fiends
When the king of an infernal realm disappears, the palace guardians are charged with bringing him back. However, their target is devious and has plans of his own. Can a resolute swordmaiden, a shape-shifting assassin, a sorceress, and two oddballs cooperate long enough to find him? Or is their mission doomed from the start? Caution: While some parts of this story are funny and light-hearted, others are dark. This is a work in progress.
