So chapter 55 officially marks the end of Book 1 - Heller: The Wilderness. I am working on Book 2 right now, though it doesn't have an official title yet.

My goal for Book 1 was:

1) Introduce the main character(s) and build an emotional rapport between them and the reader.

2) Introduce the new world Heller has been dropped into, and build a feel for what it is like.

3) Introduce my version of Cultivation Techniques, as well as describing a decent amount of the mechanics behind how they work. I want the reader to follow along the journey, not just have random incomprehensible gibberish tossed at them like most Wuxia.

4) Take the reader through the (traumatic?) experience of being reborn and having to figure out how to deal with suddenly being an infant again.

Book 1 - Heller: The Wilderness is also meant to take the story from 'Intro', through 'Early Childhood' and all the way to 'Young Adolescent'. It is more about discovery than conflict... or, you can say the discovery WAS the conflict. The Protagonists goal was to figure out how to live on this new world, and by the end of Book 1 we can see he has a pretty good grasp on things. No longer quite the 'Alien' he was when he began, he feels much more at home now. We also had to deal with the fact that, being an infant, for most of the last few years our Protagonist was forced to take a very passive roll in how things played out.

Note: Young adolescent metaphysically, not literally - MC is 5 but is taking on an older role socially.

Book 2 will be the story from there, starting at 'Young Adult' and going forwards. Expect the Protagonist to have a much more active role in events from here on out.
