Caelan watched, mouth agape as the man with the tattered armour burst downwards, slicing through the Death Knight and landing on the stone floor below with a resounding smash. This smash was soon echoed at a much louder volume by the fallen Death Knight. The man stood up, placing his massive sword back onto his shoulder casually. Caelan still couldn't believe what he had witnessed. These adventurers had just killed a Giant Death Knight in what seemed like no time at all. Realistically though, the man in the tattered armour had done the most work out of all of them, dealing the most damage and still managing to protect his teammates.
It was simply amazing. Then there was the way he fought. His appearance was very deceiving, the state of his gear seemingly being absolutely abhorrent. Of course, his weapons were quite the exception. The sword and dagger however, seemed to be in unbelievably good condition considering that the sword could slash through the armour of a Death Knight, and the dagger also looked like it could also deal some nasty damage.
And his fighting style was unlike any other he had seen or read about. Usually when someone would wield a weapon as massive as that they would move far slower, and so would wear heavier armour to make up for it. For the man however, it seemed to be just as easy to wield as the dagger. And it wasn't as though it was a light weapon, considering how much that man and elf struggled to hold it up while they were working together. So that meant that he had apparently completely dismissed defence completely to focus on offence.
Then there was the dagger. He appeared to use it more for maneuverability than actual fighting, although he had still inflicted some rather nasty damage against the Death Knight while using it. Overall, this man was no doubt a master at whatever fighting style he used, considering how fluid his movements were throughout the fight.
He nodded to himself. It was decided.
Caelan would get that man to teach him how to fight.
Alissa silently watched as Skyla crouched down, analysing the scepter in her hands and nodding after she finished.
"This is it all right." Skyla confirmed, standing up and looking it up and down.
"Well, I guess this all worked out in the end." Xander said, smiling as sheathed his sword and took off his helmet.

Unfortunately for Xander, the moment he finished his sentence Skyla swung, bringing her staff down upon Xander and making a sound akin to that of a hollow coconut. Who knows, it might have actually been hollow in there.
"Would you just shut up and not jinx us for once." Skyla scolded, "Honestly, this happens every time we go on a quest. We go to the quest area. We are getting close to finishing the quest. Then, you go and open your Celest damned mouth about how easy it is and we end up having to fight for our lives!"
Xander groaned as he rubbed his head, "Come on, it doesn't happen that often." He said, looking to Alissa for aid. Alissa only sighed in response, shaking her head.
"I still haven't forgotten Carlisle yet Xander." She explained, Xander gaining an indignant look on his face.
"Hey, that was entirely unavoidable!" Xander shot back.
Skyla scoffed at that, "You woke up the boss that we were trying to avoid."
"As I said, unavoidable." Xander insisted.
The two continued to argue, Alissa giggling at their antics. As they continued to argue she looked to the Abyss Watcher, tensing up as she did so. She was just paranoid. That was all it was. Regardless she quickly averted her gaze as the Abyss Watcher looked at her as well. It was just her being paranoid. She looked back to Skyla and Xander who were still having their back and forth.
She just had to avoid looking at his eyes.
...Okay, what the hell was that.
These people had just absolutely destroyed the boss.
...What a ripoff.
She had spent 1000 [Mana] on that Giant Death Knight and these guys had just destroyed it in under five minutes.
She frowned with her non-existent brows.
Especially that tall one with the weird hat. Seriously, just how strong was he?
Query Reply: Does the [Dungeon] wish to inspect his stats?
She could do that?
Query Reply: Yes
Dang, that would have been much easier to know 10 years ago.
...Soooo, how do I do that?
Query Reply: [Dungeon] need only activate the [Dungeon Inspect] skill.
You mean that skill I use to tell my own stats?
Query Reply: Yes
...That is a very misleading name you know? Like, it sounds as though it is specially made to inspect just [Dungeons].
...Ain't got a reply to that do you?

Query Reply: ...
Did you seriously just reply '...'?
...Fine, be that way.
[Dungeon Inspect]
She directed this skill at the pointy hat man, eagerly rubbing her ethereal hands together in anticipation.

...Hey [System]? Can I get like an imaginary drink? Preferably full black coffee.
Query Reply: Full black coffee coming up.
A coffee suddenly appeared in front of her ethereal form, to which Grace nodded gratefully in reply as she took it in her hands. Humming to herself she idly imagined the feeling of warmth coming from the cup before taking a long hard drink. This was immediately spat out, her eyes (if she had any) widening in shock.
WHAT THE HELL!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!
The Abyss Watcher frowned as he observed the walls around, eyes narrowing as he searched. Out of nowhere he had been informed that he was under the effect of a '[Dungeon Inspect]' and that his [Stats] were visible. Shortly after he could hear the faintest of shouts, seemingly coming from everywhere at once. He looked down to the [Dungeon's] floor crouching down and brushing his hand over it, trying to figure out what the hell it was he had heard.
His eyes widened as he noticed something. If he focused on it hard enough he could see a large web of glowing green lines, branching out to such a distance that he couldn't see where it ended. He instantly recognised it, both in memory and feeling, as the sign of a [Reincarnated Rifted]. In fact, the colour of the webbed lines was the same shade of green as the orb he had seen inside that little girl.
He stood back up, now looking around the arena. This entire [Dungeon] was a [Reincarnated Rifted].
Oh shit he's onto us!
He spun around, looking at where he had heard that voice. The room remained silent. His eyes narrowed as he scanned the walls. A tap on his shoulder brought back his attention, Alissa standing behind him with her bow slung over her shoulder. She stuck a thumb over her shoulder at Xander and Skyla, who had ceased their arguing and were now instead both glowering away from each other, Caelan standing awkwardly in between them.
"Skyla can teleport us out of this [Dungeon]." She explained, the Abyss Watcher nodding in response. Alissa stood their for a moment more, glancing at the Abyss Watcher warily before moving over to the rest of the party, the Abyss Watcher following. Upon noticing their approach Skyla threw one last glare at Xander before raising her staff, muttering an incantation as she did so.
The Abyss Watcher watched as a light blue ring surrounded the party, it's brightness mirroring that of the crystal in the staff. The ring than began to expand upwards, slowly blocking out any vision of the [Dungeon] before it was all gone. It remained this way for some time before the Abyss Watcher suddenly felt a sudden shift in his being. The ring quickly receded back into the ground, revealing the familiar [Dungeon] entrance as well as the surrounding forest.
How interesting. Some time had clearly passed, as they were bathed in an orange light originating from the setting sun behind them. Looking around his gaze focused on Caelan, who was looking around in shock. Understandable considering that there was no telling just how long he had been down in that [Dungeon].
"Well, it's getting dark so we should probably set up camp for the night." Xander said, walking towards the horses that they had tied up to a pair of nearby trees, "We can leave for Duskrock in the morn...ing." He trailed off as he reached said horses. Only for it to not be 'horses'.
"...That rat bastard." Xander said as he reached the single horse left, grabbing a note that had been left attached to it's saddle, reading it out loud for all to hear.
"Dear Xander, I'm sure you have noticed the missing horses, and also come to the conclusion that we have taken them. Of course, I would not put it past your limited intelligence to simply believe that they had run away. Now, I'm sure you're wondering why we left one single horse behind. Well, as I was busy stealing your stuff, I dug down into the deepest depth of kindness in my heart and decided to spare your brain the struggle of counting past 2. Have a nice walk back!
Calon."
Xander grinded his teeth as he finished off the note, sounding akin to someone scratching against a piece of metal.
"CALON!!!!!"

I Have to Text my Ex, or the World Explodes
Do you have an anus? If you do, here's a great little nonsensical story for you to turn off your brain and read while you're stuck in the toilet with nothing to do. Here's the premise of my new story: Andrew Garage thought he was the Chosen One.Stuck in a time loop that reset whenever a meteor crashed to Earth, he was determined to save mankind and get himself out of the loop. On his seventh try, he finally eliminated the catastrophic meteorite with an Antimatter Gun.However, a self-proclaimed Goddess suddenly appeared and sent Andrew back into the loop again because he saved the world 'the wrong way'. As Andrew bitterly scavenged for solutions, he found out that the reason the meteor kept crashing into Earth because. . . he kept ignoring his exes' texts. Great for people with anuses and people who want to destroy meteorites. Not recommended for people who expect actual logic like NOT winning the lottery five times in a row.
8 89Hinterland
Simon sincerely believed he was saving Morgan's life when he pushed her off the second-story roof of her family farmhouse. To be fair, his mother was burning it to the ground at the time. But Morgan Mumford, a lonely outcast with a chip on her shoulder and a full skeleton of remarkably unbroken bones, is not particularly convinced of his good intentions. Because the instant he pushed her over Simon also whisked Morgan into the realm of Hinterland: a shadowy world that is a perfect replica of their home town of Coching. But Hinterland is a hungry and dangerous place, where ordinary objects have taken on a life of their own. In Hinterland you might be ambushed by a gang of motorcycles or eaten alive by a duplex. And by god, you run from scissors. Morgan is now trapped in this hostile realm, unable to find a way home. Hunted relentlessly by Aqualung, an evil-minded Buick Skylark with a love for Jethro Tull and hatred for all things on two legs, she is forced to join a ragtag band of fellow castaways to ensure her survival. But the embittered leader of these children has plans of his own, and before long Morgan finds herself swept into his vendetta against Hinterland's imperious ruler: Simon's mother, who commands the living, breathing town to do her bidding and schemes to transform it into something worse than it is now. Something ravenous. It's time for Morgan to decide whether to ditch her new allies and find her own way out of the belly of the beast, or stay and help her fellow outcasts weather the violent feud that brews on the horizon.
