《The Last Watcher》Blackouts and the Guild

Rolth glanced to his left nervously, forcefully halting his hand from reaching to his sword on instinct. The mysterious warrior that had saved them from the mercenary group was currently walking alongside him, the massive sword that had so easily cleaved a person in two resting on his right shoulder. Meanwhile, underneath his left arm in all her majesty, was Lady Sarena Balthana, heir to the Duchy of Colania and friend of the people. And she was being carried like one might carry a sack of potatoes. She hung limply, her white dress splattered with the blood of the mercenary that the warrior had killed. They had been forced to abandon the carriage as both horses were killed in order to prevent them from escaping, and were now walking along the road to the nearest town.
He gulped as he recalled the fact that this man had just killed five mercenaries in a manner of seconds like it was nothing. His eyes flicked back to the road, a small amount of tension leaving him as the walled town of Duskrock came into view, people entering and leaving through the main gate either on foot, or by transportation of some kind. He looked to the warrior again, considering his options. The man hadn't spoken a single word since his rescue simply walking in silence.
He had considered using [Analyse] on him but decided against it, knowing that some people could sense when they were being analysed and block it. It was also known that looking in on someone's levels without permission was considered the same as looking at someone's wife through the window as she took a bath.
Guards were exempt from this though as it was necessary to know someone's level when you let them into a town to assess their danger level. He could only guess right now as to what his level was, but from what he had seen he guessed that this man was around level 80. And considering that he had saved them for seemingly no reason Rolth also guessed that he was an adventurer and would expect a monetary reward.
As he pondered on just how strong this man actually was they eventually reached the gate, getting skeptical looks from the travelers entering the town, mainly directed at the limp girl being carried by the mysterious warrior. As he looked around he noticed that the warrior seemed unnaturally tall compared to everyone else. Sure he had the strange tall pointed helmet but even without that he stood half a head over everyone else.
Unfortunately due to the strangeness of their situation they found themselves facing a trio of guards that walked up to them, two spearmen guards flanking a guard captain, the same class as Rolth. Thankfully he recognised this guard captain as Cole, and sighed in relief as he smiled and walked ahead to greet him.
Upon noticing Rolth, Cole smiled warmly before turning it into a frown as he spotted the bandage wrapped around his shoulder. His frown increased even more as he noticed the unconscious Lady Sarena and her carrier. He eyed the massive sword warily before speaking to the group.

"This looks like an interesting story to tell me some other time. Right now you should get both you and Lady Sarena to the doctor to get those wounds of yours checked out." Cole fully turned to face the warrior, his hand resting on the handle of the sword hanging around his waist. "However I'm afraid I must [Analyse] you before I let you into Duskrock. Do you consent to this?" He asked. The warrior stared blankly at him before slightly tilting his head to the side in what Rolth assumed to be confusion. Cole waited expectantly, nervously shifting from side to side under the warrior's piercing gaze.
After a moment the warrior nodded slightly, lessening the tension that had built up in Cole as he smiled. "Thank you, you have no idea how many people outright refuse. [Analyse]" He said out loud, the smile dropping in an instant. Cole stood frozen for a full minute, not a single movement occurring from him.
Face completely neutral he turned to face Rolth, approaching the confused guard captain, placing both hands on his shoulders. "Get him to the Guild." He said before calmly taking a few steps back. He collapsed to the ground, his men dropping their spears in an attempt to catch him and only barely succeeding.
Gulping he turned to the warrior, who was staring down at the blacked out guard captain. "[Analyse]."

Aaylia sat behind her assigned desk, a happy smile on her face, her blonde hair cascading down her shoulders. The Guild was quiet today, with only a dozen or so adventurers coming in to take quests. To be fair though, there were not many high reward quests as far west as they were, and so many of the ones who had taken to questing here were either just starting out or looking for a quiet adventure. Her pointed ears twitched slightly as noise of a commotion from outside reached them. The door opened.
"Welcome to the Guild! How may I assist you." She said the practiced greeting as was customary before tilting her head slightly in confusion as a guard stepped inside. He gestured for someone behind him to enter, his nervous face visible even through the slit in the helmet. Her jaw dropped as another man stepped in. A sword that was longer then her was resting on his right shoulder, shifting slightly to allow it to fit into the door. A large pointed helmet sat upon his head while a purple mask that matched the tattered and ripped cloak covered everything on the bottom half of the face that wasn't eye level. An overall imposing figure, with a wicked hook dagger strapped to his waist.
"H-How may I assist you today." She stuttered out.
The guard quickly approached, glancing nervously back at the tall man behind him. "We need to get this man registered with the Guild." He explained.

Aaylia blinked. That seemed simple enough. "Well then if you would like to follow me." She said, standing up from her chair to walk around the desk to the nearby stairs, beckoning them to follow. Surprisingly only the strange man followed, the guard visibly relaxing as he hurriedly walked out the door. Frowning she continued on nonetheless, leading him up the stairs to another room.
The room was small, allowing room for a two couches facing each other with a table separating them. Sitting on the couch facing the door she gestured for him to take a seat as she opened a small drawer present on her side of the table, collecting the single paper occupying the space. Placing it in the centre of the table she looked back up at the man, who had placed his sword to lean against the couch before sitting down.
"What you need to do is place your hand on top of the paper. It will collect all the information available to it and then we can determine what level of adventurer you are." She instructed, garnering a nod from him as he placed a gloved hand flat on top of the paper, an ethereal blue glow surrounding it. "While it will not be able to tell your [Affinities] or [Skills], it can tell us almost everything else.
"Your level of adventurer depends on your own level, whatever it may be. Level 10-20 is Bronze, the lowest rank. Level 20-50 is Silver. You'll find that the majority of adventurers are Silver Rank as it is pretty common to between those levels. Level 50-100 is Gold. They handle more dangerous jobs then Silvers and are highly sought after. Level 100-120 is Platinum. Most people who would be elligible for Platinum are already beholden to some other organisation like the Church or some Knightly Order, but we still have about a good amount registered at the guild, some of them even taking up residence in Duskrock. Level 120 and above is the absolute maximum rank, Adamantine. So far about six people are eligible for Adamantine but are already taken, and three are actual adventurers with the Guild."
The blue glow stopped suddenly stopped, retracting back into the paper as it quickly recorded the results in ink. "Ah, perfect timing." She said, clapping her hands together as the man took off his hand. Picking it up she quickly consumed all the information present. "The page is enchanted to replicate the [World System] as best as possible." She explained to him. "So it looks very similar to whenever you look at your [Status] regularly. Therefore, making it easier...to...read."

Aaylia's eye twitched. It twitched again. Putting the paper back down onto the table, she stood up calmly she walked to the window hands behind her back as she stared out of it, her mental state deteriorating rapidly.
Warning: [Mental] Madness Status Effect present.
…
[Mental] Madness Resisted!
Turning around to face 'Abyss Watcher' she stared at him with her clear blue. He stared right back, a questioning look in his dark grey eyes. She collapsed onto the floor, her brain shorting out as blackness enveloped her.
…
Okay seriously, why did people keep collapsing. Was this some sort of disease that was spreading among the population. Frowning in concern he considered leaving her on the floor while he fled. Collapsing like everyone else was not on his mind if this really was a contagious disease then it would not be good if he caught it. Especially while in a strange place he was not familiar with.
Thinking about it for a moment he grabbed the paper, giving it a once over. Thankfully it appeared that most of the information concerning his world was hidden. His gaze lingered on [Mute] for a second before he placed the paper back down onto the table. Since he was leaving, he might as well not steal their good paper. Grabbing his sword he exited the room, moving down into the common room.
He could let them handle that business about him being an adventurer. Right now, he needed to look for information. And information most likely was in the town outside. Placing his sword on his shoulder he stepped out into the busy streets.

Oublivant
Oublivants: a category of dungeons characterised by the antithesis of life, necrosis. "Dungons as a whole tend towards the lethal side when it comes to exploring them; however, an oublivant actively seeks out destruction on a grand scale. No greater example of their deep hatred for life exists than the very first discovery of an oublivant. It was a massive dungeon spanning miles in all directions. It continuously expanded along the surface, so fast you could see it, and left nothing but a scorched, withered wasteland in its wake. Wherever the oublivant resides, nothing but the undead exist, as all living life has been eradicated. Why it is, exactly, the oublivant seem so against life so as to break the passive rule dungeons have is unknown. What is known, however, is that they're a threat that, upon discovery, is to be immediately eliminated." - Archomagus Addiom Onero, Court of VascilNote: This is my first story on royal road.
