Jake watched, dumbstruck, as the woman slowly stood up on shaking legs, her eyes forced closed, as she mumbled to herself in a near panic.

“Alright, alright. Calm the fuck down. This is clearly a dream. I must have passed out while gaming, and this is just some fucked up reflex of my mind to tell me to stop wasting my time in front of a monitor. So, here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to wake myself up. Yeah, that’s going to work.”

Taking a few rapid breaths, the woman reached up and slapped herself across the face as hard as her small arms were capable of. The sharp crack of flesh meeting flesh at high speeds startled Jake, and the woman crumbled to her knees, groaning. She opened her eyes, and looked down at the blood dripping down from her mouth and falling into the long grasses of the plains.

“Fuck…” The woman reached upwards and wiped at the blood with her open palm, black against her sun-kissed skin. She stared at her bloodied hand for a moment, her tongue slowly escaping her mouth to dab at the ruptured skin. Hissing under her breath at the flash of pain, she turned her head and spat out a small globule of blood and spit. “Fucking hell…” The woman unconsciously curled into herself, bringing her knees to her chest and wrapping her arm around her legs, her eyes never wavering from the blood glistening from the moonlight upon her hand, her gaze locked into the distance hidden in the liquid.

Snapping himself out of his daze, Jake slowly stood up. The movement caught the attention of the woman, who scrambled to her feet and spun around towards him, her hands coming up to protect her head from any attacks. “Who the fuck are you?” The woman growled at him, watching his every slow move with her emerald eyes. “Where the fuck am I?”

Jake raised his hands and backed away from the angry and frightened woman, leaving the [Rift Stave of Jer-El] planted into the ground where he placed it to start the spell. Keeping his voice low and calm, Jake began to speak to her. “Hey. I’m Jake. Don’t worry, I’m not going to attack you.”

The woman blinked, then squinted at him through the darkness, her emerald eyes giving off a slight glow in the twilight. “Jake, huh? Alright, ‘Jake’, where are you from?”

“State Farm.” Jake replied automatically, before slapping himself in the face and sighing at his own stupidity.

The woman froze, and slowly lowered her hands. “And you wear khakis, right?” She didn’t give him a chance to answer, and instead sighed. Arching her neck upwards, she stared into the vast expanse above, watching the twinkling of the thousands of stars in the night sky. “This is real, huh.” It wasn’t a question, but Jake felt compelled to answer.

“Yeah.”

“And you’re from Earth, like me?”

“Yup.”

“Shit…” Sighing again, the woman closed her eyes again and let out a defeated chuckle. “Fucking horse shit…” Lowering her head, she opened her glowing emerald eyes and stared at Jake. Jerking her head in the direction of the glowing campfire in the distance, she raised an eyebrow at Jake. “Is that yours?”

Nodding, Jake turned to walk towards the fire and his companions, while attempting to get in contact with a certain loli goddess through his thoughts.

Giggles, what the hell went wrong?

Lilith, the All-Mother, is having too much fun watching her Puppet to respond at the moment. Please leave a message.

God damnit. Sighing, Jake turned back to the woman. She was swaying back and forth while walking towards him and the fire in the distance, stumbling over her own feet. “Uhh, you alright?”

Waving a hand, the woman’s foot caught against her shin and she stumbled forward, swearing the entire time. “Yeah, perfectly fine. I don’t know what could possibly be wrong. It’s not as if I’m in an entirely different body, in some random bum-fuck plains in the middle of God knows where. Oh, and did I mention the fact that I have no clue what the fuck is going on?” The woman shot Jake a glare before tripping over her foot again. “So yeah, I’m just peachy.”

“… Okay. Uhh, brief version. This world is run by a child-like Goddess known as Lilith. She based it off of old school role-playing games. Think Dungeons and Dragons, shit like that.” Moving his left hand up to shoulder level, Jake flicked his fingers, and a small purple flame appeared over his thumb, lighting up his features from below.

The woman stopped, and stared at the flickering flame. “Holy shit…” She reached out, as if to touch it, and Jake snuffed it with a flick of his wrist. The woman shot him a small glare, before continuing to walk towards the campfire. “Alright, so magic exists here?” She paused for a second, before snorting. “Sorry, stupid question.” She was no longer tripping over her feet as much, but her foot still occasionally caught on her heel or a clump of grasses, causing her to stumble and swear under her breath.

“Yeah, it does.” Jake continues his explanation, his mind working over exactly what to tell to this other Earthling that he had accidentally brought over to this world. “It’s based around a system of proficiencies in different ‘elements’. Think of Avatar, but add in Dark and Light.”

“Isn’t darkness just the absence of light?” The woman questioned, changing how she walked in an attempt to find the most comfortable stride that allowed her to move without tripping over everything.

“… You know what? I never thought about that…” Jake mumbled to himself, before shaking his head. “Anyways, magic works on an intuitive system here. No fancy words or reagents to cast a spell, just think about what you want the spell to be, kind of ‘force’ your mana into the spell, and bam! Magic.” Jake waved his hands to emphasize the ease of access for casting spells, and a small spurt of violet flames erupted from his fingertips into the night sky.

“It really can’t be that ea… huh.” Jake, noticing the woman cut herself off, turned around and looked at her. The female Blood Elf had a sickly green flame dancing around her hands, the demonic fire snaking back and forth across her golden skin. Turning, she snapped out her hand, palm outwards into the distance. The flames responded instantly, and the spell darted out, slithering across the tops of the grasses before disappearing in the distance in a puff of smoke and ash.

Not quite finished, the woman clenched her outstretched hand into a fist, and a stream of small orbs of green fire appeared above her head, arching out and slamming into the ground where her first spell extinguished itself. With diluted explosions, the twenty or so orbs of fire impacted the ground and burst, causing small streams of liquid flame to spurt out and splash onto the area around the impact site, the brush catching fire almost instantly.

After finishing her bombardment, the woman lowered her hand and hummed to herself. Raising her hand again, the woman snapped her fingers and pointed at the flames in a fluid motion. With a quick snap, the fires that were beginning to spread through the dry grasses snuffed themselves out instantly, the only remains of the spells were the still smoldering grasses and the surprisingly small amount of smoke drifting through the night sky.

“Huh…” The woman stared at the smoke, already dissipating into the wind. Turning her emerald gaze onto Jake, she tilted her head at him. “Did this happen for you too?”

Blinking, Jake mimicked her head tilt. “Did what happen?”

The woman gestured to her head. “Knowledge and shit. After I calmed down a little bit from the whole 'bringing me to this world' thing, I… I can’t think of a better word than remember how things work in this world. How to cast magic, how that this body is just a physical representation of your magical request for something. It doesn’t really explain that bit.” The woman scratched at the back of her neck, her golden locks falling in front of her eyes. Grumbling to herself about how annoying long hair was, she flipped her head to the side and her hair whipped back behind her shoulders. “I still don’t know why you wanted me, or why the hell I’m a chick, but I know it’s not permanent, so I shouldn’t really freak out about it.”

Sighing, Jake scratched at his temple. “Yeah, that’s my fault. I don’t know what happened. Do you understand how the Binding works?” The woman shrugged, so Jake went on to explain. “Basically, I sacrifice mana to create a being, monster, person, whatever I want from an element, and it acts as a sort of companion until I cancel the spell.” The woman nodded, and Jake continued. “I wanted to bring over my demons from World of Warcraft, since we’re about to go through a war, and I needed additional firepower. I guess it fucked up when I wanted to use a single spell to bring out all of them, and, somehow, you got brought over.” Not knowing what to do, Jake half shrugged and bowed his head to the woman. “Sorry about that.”

The woman blinked at him, and her eyebrows fell in confusion. “That doesn’t make any sense. Why would… wait.” Her brows raised into her hairline, and she took a quick step towards Jake. “What did you say your name was again? Full name.”

“Umm, Jake? Jake Roshaven?” Jake took a step back, confused at her attitude.

“Favorite bands?”

A suspicion began to form in the back of his mind, but Jake answered anyways. “Queen, AC/DC, Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Metallica, System of a Down and Nirvana.”

“Favorite game series?” The woman took another step towards him.

“The Souls series, including Bloodborne.” Jake took a step towards the woman, his suspicion quickly becoming fact. “Your favorite build to fuck with people?”

“Giant-Dad.” She took another step towards him. They were inches apart, the woman staring up into his eyes. “If you could sleep with any Disney Princess, who would it be?”

“Esmerelda, the gypsy from the Hunchback of Notre-Dame.” Jake responded immediately. “I know she’s technically not a princess, but she’s the main female lead in a Disney movie. Therefore, she’s a princess.”

Silence reigned as the two people stared at each other, neither blinking as their minds spun around one singular thought.

“Shit.” The woman said under her breath. She sighed, and gestured down at herself. “How the hell did this happen, though?”

Jake scratched at the back of his neck. “I guess when I tried to bring over the demons, I fucked up and brought over my warlock instead. I mean, it makes sense now that I think about it. I always thought of the demons as an extension of my character, which was in essence an extension of myself. Damn, sorry about this man.”

The woman waved her hand in front of her and shook her head. “You’re good. I can’t really get mad at myself now, can I? I mean, it’s not permanent. It could be kind of fun, actually.” She looked down at her body, before sighing again. “It’s going to take me a little bit to get used to this body, but at least I’m hot.”

Jake chuckled, and extended a fist. “Yeah, we are pretty good at character customization.”

“Definitely.” The Blood Elf woman bumped knuckles with Jake, and the two independent bodies that shared a personality continued walking towards the campfire. “My only problem is, I don’t know what to call myself. I mean, I could use my avatar’s name, but I don’t know if I’ll get used to it.”

Jake shook his head. “Can’t. I was able to bring over Quelaag like I did to you... me, I guess. So we can’t use that as a name.”

The Other-Jake laughed. “No shit? That’s going to be interesting. How’s she like?”

Jake shrugged. “I would say overprotective over her sister. Other than that, I would say no-nonsense, maybe? Definitely aggressive and really dangerous from what I’ve seen.”

She laughed again. “Nice.” Other-Jake remained silent for a moment, thinking. “Damn, I can’t think of a name right now… How about that one boss from Bloodborne that turned into the big white beast at the cathedral?”

“Amelia? Think that would work?”

“Sure, I can go with that.” The recently renamed Amelia smiled, her pearl white teeth glistening in the twilight.

“So, what Proficiencies did Giggles gift you?” Jake turned the attention back to his other self. “Oh, yeah. You can check your stats and shit by either thinking of it or saying it out loud, including an inventory system. And Giggles is the name that I gave Lilith, due to her incessant giggling.”

Amelia hummed to herself, before bringing her hand up and waving it occasionally through the air in front of her as she went through the different screens.

“So, it’s looking like I’m a level 40 with about 300 Health and 1,000 Mana. Proficiencies are… 60% Fire, 60% Dark, 30% Fel and 30% Death.” Jake blinked at that, and raised an eyebrow at Amelia, who shrugged. “I guess it’s based off of all three ‘Lock trees; Destruction, Demonology and Affliction.” Amelia let out a single laugh. “God, if I was able to do this back in WoW, it would be so broken. The burst damage of a Destro, the sustain of a Demo, and the damage over time of an Afflict… Oh boy, I’m getting excited just thinking about it.”

Jake laughed with her this time, and the duo were still laughing when they moved into the light of the campfire. Amelia looked towards the three gathered around the fire, and her movement stopped completely as she stared at both Quelaag and Quelana. Jake, on the other hand, sat down at the campfire and pulled a half burnt skewer from the flames.

“Guys, meet the newest addition to the party. Her name is Amelia.” With that statement, Jake began tearing into the strips of meat without reservation. The sisters stood up and bowed from the waist towards Amelia.

“Good evening, Miss Amelia.” Quelana said, straightening with her sister and giving the Blood Elf a small smile. “I am Quelana, and this is my sister Quelaag. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.”

Amelia snapped out of her daze, and clutched her hands to her waist and returned the bow, deeper than the other two women did, and almost lost her balance in the process. She recovered quickly, and spoke in a low voice filled with respect. “It is an honor, my Fair Lady and my Lady of Izalith.” Amelia straitened and returned the smile to the surprise of both sisters. “I am familiar with both of you, and I feel as if you already know me.” The Blood Elf gestured towards the seated Jake, who was struggling to not choke on his food as he chuckled to himself at the two sister’s reactions. “My mind and personality is the same as his, but due to his inability to properly understand how to create a well-working spell, I have been brought to this world using one of the many forms that he and I used to travel to different worlds.” Jake flipped the Blood Elf a well-meaning middle finger, and Amelia returned the gesture. Scratching the back of her neck, Amelia smiled self-depreciatingly, and gestured to herself. “As you saw, I’m still getting used to the different body types. But just imagine me as another Jake.”

The sisters looked at her in confusion, before Quelaag spoke up. “Correct me if I am wrong, but were you not supposed to be summoning demons, Jake?”

Jake swallowed the last bite of the skewer, and nodded. “Yeah, but I messed it up.” He waved his hand at Amelia, and flicked the stick into the flames. “This avatar of myself was the focus for the demons that I wanted to bring over, and either my subconscious or Lilith thought it would be a good idea to use that instead.” Smirking to himself, he let his eyes wander over Amelia’s body. “Not to say I’m not disappointed.”

“That’s pretty narcissistic, man. All these terrible thoughts over something that you created and who is essentially yourself.” The Blood Elf responded, situating herself in front of the fire next to Jake and helping herself to a meat skewer.

“Fuck you.” Jake responded as he grabbed a gourd from his Inventory and took a draw.

“Hell no.” The two glared at each other for a moment, before breaking out in laughter and bumping knuckles, leaving both Quelaag and Quelana lost and confused, staring at the two sitting around the fire. Mizutsune, on the other hand, simply cracked open an eye and snorted at the two idiots before promptly falling back asleep.
