《Vacation of a God》Chapter 9

Making it back to the inn we paid the inn lady a month worth of rent. When we got back to our room I asked Angelica what her opinion was on the “dire situation” these mortals were facing. As a god i have the power to read their memories but that is something that i prefer not to do. Reading minds is not a simple task to achieve. The mind is something delicate and can easily be damaged. So I had to figure this out by myself. Just because I’m an all-powerful god doesn’t mean I’m an all knowing god. I do have eons of experience but that can just as easily cause tunnel vision too. A different perspective on the matter wouldn’t hurt.
“In my opinion I think a fallen god or titan may be inciting this situation, assuming this is an event affecting all life on this planet. Before we arrived at Eremel, Michael checked the reports on the activity taking place in this universe. We had reports of Loki the god of mischief messing around, but I’m sure he isn’t responsible for this. After all this is as the mortals say a “dire situation” by that I’m assuming life on this planet is in danger.”
“Hmm... That guy’s version of fun can be questionable at times. What about the goddess that made the summoning circle. Did Michael have any information on her?”
“No Michael had no reports on her. I'm pretty certain she's no longer in Eremel.” (Angelica)
“So she made a summoning circle and dissapeared? If she has helped the mortals I can’t see her being evil but you never know with these things. Like they say expect the unexpected.” (Skyler)
Finishing what I was saying I take off my armour put on some shorts and slide into bed. I purposely changed in front of Angelica just to see how she would react. Seeing her blushing and becoming flustered I was satisfied.
Even though she was bright red Angelica pretended not see anything taking off her armour and putting on a night gown she slid into bed next to me. Was she doing the same thing I did?
Admiring her efforts of trying to tease me I make another move. I slowly shuffle my way to her side of the bed and put my arms around her and pulled her in towards my chest. I think her brain malfunctioned a little as she didn’t know what to do. Pretending like it was normal I closed my eyes and pretended to fall asleep.

When she finally recovered a few minutes later she whispered my name to see if I was actually awake.
“Skyler?? My lord??”
Getting no response she built up her confidence and poked my cheeks. Inside I was confused, was she still checking if I was awake? From poking, pinching and caressing my cheeks I felt she was getting more and more confident. Next she started to feel up my chest.
Her hands felt soft and her touch was delicate but shaky. Her hands were really cold too. Not reacting at all at this point might cause some suspicion, so I decided to take a leap of faith.
Pretending to stretch I pull Angelica even closer to me with one of my arms. The other arm however grabbed her cute butt. Feeling her whole body freeze i was trying my best not to smile or laugh.
After a few minutes I thought she calmed down as I could feel her body loosen up. Little did I know it was the opposite. After a few seconds I heard her gulp and then soon after felt something soft on my lips.
This time it was my turn to be shocked. By the time I opened my eyes her head was resting on my chest and her eyes were closed tight.
Amazed at her stealing a kiss from me I held her tight and we both drifted off to sleep.
Waking up the next day Angelica was unable to meet my eyes. Her embarrassment and constant blushing was cute but there was no time for that right now.
“We’ll be late if we don’t hurry.” (Angelica)
The streets were once again thriving with festivities. Holding Angelica's hand we headed for the castle.
Reaching the castle we walked up to two guards in golden armour. Showing them our badges one of the guards ran ahead probably to inform everyone we had arrived. The other guard dutifully escorted us to the room where the summoning would take place.
Entering the huge double doors I noticed we were the last ones to arrive. The room was huge and overly decorated. Huge pillars supporting the roof. In the middle of the room was a huge circle. Most likely where the heroes would be summoned. There was also a throne built on top of a set of stairs in front of the circle. Golden armoured guards were placed around the room and they looked like decoration pieces themselves. Everyone’s attention was now on us.

Looking around the room i see a man in his 40’s sat on the throne. He had blond hair and green eyes. He gave out an aura worthy of a ruler. By his side was another throne which was less decorated, on there sat a woman. She was a black haird beauty but she still couldn’t be compared to my Angelica. Guild master Dreyfus stood a few steps down smiling like he usually does. Standing next to the queen was another woman. She was was young probably in her early 20’s. Her gaze was uncomfortable so I didn’t look at her for long. Finally there was another old man stood on the opposite side of the king. Just by looking at his robes anyone could tell he was a priest. He was old with white hair and supported himself with his staff. Also stood behind the king was a man in golden armour. The armour was more decorative than the others, he probably was a commander. Next to him was a woman in magical robes her face was covered. If I had to guess I would say she is a royal mage as she gives off a magical aura.
Taking a few steps into the room guild master Dreyfus walks over to our side.
“My king these are the adventurers I told you about.” He says kneeling.
Taking it as a cue to introduce ourselves I started first.
“Greetings I am Skyler a High Elf.” I spoke without bowing or kneeling, I still have my pride as god I bend the knee to no one.
Angelica was the same she gave an even simpler introduction and also didn’t kneel.
“My name is Angelica.”
I could see some of the people not happy with her introduction as she looked human but she shut them up with her next sentence.
“I’m a Vampire Princess.”
Most where startled and tried their best not show it. The king showed no change of emotion and started a welcoming speech.
“Welcome I am King Alfonzo the second, I thank you for taking part in today’s summoning ceremony and your future service towards the heroes.”
No one dared to gossip or even make a noise in front of the king which was kind of surprising. Paying no more attention to the rest of the residents in the room we both made our way to the side waiting for the summoning to start.
Soon after our arrival the king gave a boring speech about who the heroes where and how important they were against the upcoming threat. Of course he didn’t mention anything about the threat which was annoying. Finally after half an hour of waiting the royal mage started the ceremony. She called in other mages and they all poured their mana into the circle.
The circle started to shine brightly. To the both us the light could be compared to a small flame. In the past I created stars 100 times larger than this planet so this bright light was nothing. When the silhouettes of the heroes came into view I decided to make a move.
While the others were shielding their eyes. I froze time for short while. This gave me enough time to create a pocket dimension. The pocket dimension resembled a white room and held the now soon to be heroes. Creating a pocket dimension was easy. The time in the small pocket dimension would be different from the outside. 10 minutes inside for 1 second on the outside. This gave me plenty of time to carry out what I was about to do.
I didn’t want to reveal myself as Skyler to the heroes so I created an illusion of my self. I now looked like a figure of bright light radiating a holy aura. I did the same for Angelica and now we waited for the heroes to arrive.

All things are. We once dreamed of a sky filled with possibilities. Of neverending knowledge. But those were conceited times, filled with quibbling. Now we look up and fear the vastness. We fear that there’s no edge to infinity. Humanity pulled itself together. Not like you’d expect, not like you’d approve of, but the results are spectacular. We call ourselves Utopians now, to make it simple for our kin in the cosmos. We’ve moved out into the Omniverse, to unlimited resources, and to dominance over the weak. Not for gain, but to the ends of permanence and peace. The cessation of their suffering. At the apex, looking down on those confined, those unenlightened, we felt safe. So few stand shoulder to shoulder with us. Fewer yet of them are so united as we. Porter, a godkiller for the Eidolons, is out of the job. Christopher, a Magus in the Guild, has him a new one, but with motives questionable. Kendall, a failing student at the Monastery, has to deal with secrets he never wanted. Anna, her entire life just fell apart, leaving her bereft. And Doran, he awakens. Each of these people, connected as members of the Omniversal Utopian Commonwealth, are helpless to the dark truth closing in. Not even the artificial intelligence, Aku, keeper of all Utopian power, can stop the Ouroboros. It’s not a new dawn. The light is dying. Hold your breath and go gently.

What if adventurers are not as they seemed. In the tales of old, adventurers were the ones who vanquished the demons and beasts from the land, the ones who sealed the great evil away, the ones who saved the world from destruction and kept peace within the lands. But, what if that wasn't really what happened? What if adventurers are selfish, narcissicistic, and- depending on who you ask- evil. What if they weren't the paragons of good that their history books show. As they say, it is the victors that write history. In this world, this broken world, the true nature of adventurers will be told, unveiled to the masses. In this world, where history has yet to be written, the true heroes will be shown. Or- at least, that's what should've happened. But then again- heroes, villains-... everything is relative to the one who sees it. Everything changes depending on who's perspective... Perhaps the heroes of this story- may not be the heroes that you might think. Author : Hello everyone! I just want you all to know that this is a first time story. I'm the one who's doing the draft, editing, proofreading and revisioning! I do aim to have a chapter up every week or so, thus I look forward to showing everyone the world I created!Editor : ^ Proof Reader : ^
