《Diary of Erica Kron》Day 312

This morning I worked to try and find someone who would be both willing and able to take care of the kids. I used my influence over the people liberally in this pursuit, usually I find that to be rather distasteful, but this is a special case.
Between the word of people I trust, some light mind reading, and who the kids themselves were able to tolerate, I was ultimately able to decide on a couple guys who wanted to have kids, but were unable to as there wasn’t a female in their relationship. I will admit that the vast majority of the work was done by other people, I don’t really know what makes someone have the potential to be good parents but I do have people that I trust who do. The kids seemed to like them, and the guys genuinely wanted to be good parents so hopefully it will work out.
That being said, Junior never leaves my side. Even to the point of missing meals or passing out from exhaustion she is refusing to leave my side, which is kind of worrying because I don’t need to eat or sleep so even when I do try to be considerate of her I end up forgetting.
Luckily Askos is always coming by to check up on her rather frequently, so no real harm was done, but he has been very busy with the rest of his siblings. He is trying to do what he can to keep his siblings healthy and happy, or at least keep them from spiraling into a depression. I just hope he finds time to deal with his own issues.
I spent most of the day helping Junior train. She’s making progress faster than I had thought she would be capable of. At the beginning of the day one in ten bodies were able to be restored to perfect condition without suffering any permanent damage, at the end of the day it was one in five.

I am a pretty good healer, but I’m not that good at teaching. Yeah, Lace helps a lot with that, but not nearly to this extent. She has more than just biological talent going for her. She is incredibly focused on the task in front of her to the exclusion of all else, that alone isn’t weird and it happens naturally with some regularity, but she is doing it intentionally, or at least instinctually. She squashes stray thoughts before they can fully form and filters out anything that isn’t relevant to her task, less as an attempt to do better and more like she’s scared of something. Of what I wasn’t able to get an answer.
And not just that, but the way she thinks is ideal for this. I don’t really know how to put it into words but the way she thinks about healing taught me a thing or two. She’s a veritable genius. I was wrong about her, she isn’t going to surpass me in healing, she is going to outstrip me so far that I can’t currently imagine the heights she will reach. That is, of course, if she sticks to this one path.
I’ll do what I can to make sure she has a long and successful life.
In other news, two more of my paladins are now skilled enough for me to integrate my plants into their bodies. There’s four more that already were rather skilled with the use of plants, and one more that is rather talented and probably going to catch up with them.
I gave all of them the same modifications and set them up with a couple training methods that I think will get them good at what I think they should be good at. Like being able to form a weapon and armor from the plants in their body in an instant, and being able to change that just as quickly react to new threats. Or changing the way the plants inside of them interact to improve their bodies.

Once there is one or two more of them I am going to have them start training with a couple of the dungeons around here, I’m already in the process of bribing the dungeons to help me.
Other than that I spent my downtime working on the anatomy book. At this point, I have all variations of my Ents written down. I give it three more days before I have the sum of all of my knowledge about anatomy on those pages.
When the scholars asked how my book was coming along they were shocked when they realized that I was already over halfway done, and looked at me in undisguised envy when I demonstrated my ability to burn anything I want onto paper nearly instantly. It was fun to show off like that.
Anyway, Good Night Diary.

Mycology
Declan was but a teenager when he was invited to Gaia. It wasn't some popular VRMMO like the ones his friend keeps recommending, nor was it a 'game' in the traditional sense. Gaia was the stopgap to Indiri, a living breathing world, the final creation of a dead genius. Invited to this world by Eve, the overseer and an AI light-years greater than any that came before her, Declan was given a choice. To join or not to join? Well, why the hell not? Hello, this is a pretty basic VR story which I started writing out of boredom, don't expect anything too great here, it's a somewhat unique setting but with mostly slice of life comedy shenanigans with no real 'plot' since I can't reliably include stakes in a world where respawning is a thing. I'll try to upload at least once every other week but real life stuff may get in the way occasionally. **WARNING** Protagonist comes with an inbuilt wizard hat. Also, any mentions of chapter titles shall be met with falling rocks TPK. **ACTUAL WARNING** Story may or may not read like the fever dream of an eclectic sasquatch with internet connection. Do be warned, that this story has extremely slow pacing by design. Join the Discord!! https://discord.gg/p2gxqs4 Laugh at my empty Patreon!!

The Monster Inside: The First Vampire
Despite appearances, there was once a time where monsters did not exist. Where peace and prosperity reigned over all life. But those sinful and demonic forces that had hidden themselves in the shadows just couldn't help themselves could they? They wanted a piece of that prosperity too. They wanted to taint it, corrupt it, revel in its dark side. This is the story of a boy who was tainted. Of a boy who unintentionally bore a seed of sin and who in his naivety let it out. This is the story of how that boy was shamed and disgraced. Of how he was outcast for simply being. This is the story of how that boy learned to embrace the darkness that made him different. A darkness that would later make him known as the Lord of Night. Note to Reader: I understand this book is not for everyone, if there is a writer that can write to please everyone, I have never heard of them. The MC can be frustrating in his decisions as he learns to grow and accept what and who he is. I believe this reality is unavoidable. That being said, if you feel the need to give a review, please do so, just know that I will report you if all that review seems to do is blab toxic language and insult my literary choices without giving constructive advice or alternatives. That's not just a me policy, that's a policy of this website. I'm not writing this note because I'm a writer who does not acknowledge that there are faults in my work. I know there are. That's what happens when it hasn't been professionally edited by someone other than the author. I'm saying this because I'm sick of reading 1 star or 0.5 star rated reviews that seem to do nothing but hate on the book because they don't like the story. No comments on grammar, ways to improve or suggestions for better story arcs. Just plain hate. It's not on, and I frankly shouldn't have to write this note, but needed to get it off my chest. In saying all that, thank you to those who do leave reviews that don't fall into the above category. Your appreciation of my work, or alternatively, your willingness to give advice for improvement, is appreciated.

Plucky hero keeps his sanity by disgarding sanity as a concept, and travels the virtual multiverse in search of his body and his home. The usual.
