《Diary of Erica Kron》Day 299

Early in the morning, I got a chance to look at some of the gear we had pulled off of the invaders, though not too closely as I have a lot of plants in my body. And nothing, I couldn’t understand it at all and I wasn’t able to do anything with it. Which was no surprise, but still disappointing.
The scholars are not doing so well with it either, none of the ones we have here have studied enchanting. All of them specialize in things like dungeons, evolution, plants, alchemy, and other things along those lines. Which makes sense, as we are developing those things quite a lot here, but it is still disappointing. They have called for a specialist to be sent here, though there is no telling if or when they will show up.
It turns out that Tiddol is the only one who has studied enchanting in any real capacity, and even that was only enough to realize that she found the subject boring. Still, she managed to show me a way to work things that should theoretically turn off any enchantment if you pour enough mana into it, no one knows how much mana is ‘enough’ but it is irrelevant anyway as the only thing I would be able to do that with is plants, can’t exactly interact with an anti-plant enchantment with plants.
So finding a counter for their enchantments is a bust unless something changes in the near future.
Luckily Azrezel is no longer puking his guts out from teleportation sickness and is now able to use his undead properly. That is a significant boon to our fighting force, but by the looks of things it isn’t going to be nearly enough. The invaders have been making fast slash and burn attacks against us, basically trying to do as much damage as possible while decreasing the amount of time that they remain away from the safety of their platform as much as possible. Azrezel is able to slow those attacks down a bit, but he doesn’t have the force to attack them on their own base, and with all of our stuff being made of plants they can do a lot of damage. Damage that I can fix pretty quickly once they are gone, but not nearly quick enough.

To make matters worse, we’ve confirmed that they do have an enchanter with them creating new weapons and armor for the soldiers. So even damaging their gear isn’t having an effect. Luckily casualties have been negligible otherwise I don’t think we would be able to hamper them as much as we are.
To make matter even worse Par is too pinned down to come to our aid. Practically the moment the soldiers teleported in to attack us they were attacked with a much bigger force than they were preparing for. By the reports, he is in an easily defensible position and the attackers don’t seem concerned with trying to actually kill them, just keep them there, so they should be fine overall.
I don’t know how we’re going to win this. I could try burning my Fate, I have been building it up for a couple months now, but I don’t think that will be nearly enough. And I think it would be a waste to use it like this. Unless there is somewhere we can pull up an army that I’m not considering it is going to be hard to remove this pest. I can keep trying to find a way around their enchantments but I don’t think it is going to be possible with my plants.
Anyway, Good Night Diary.

Rise of the Desolate Star
“The soul is a sword. The body its sheath. Adversity is the hammer, while courage is the anvil. Oh, and son? Your tears and snot, they’re just the sparks that chip away at the impurities, like dungflies off a sow’s arse.” - Kendric Farrow Ever since he could remember, young Skyle Farrow’s body and mind have been hammered relentlessly like red-hot steel against the anvil of adversity under the watchful eyes of his father. All the while, Skyle’s heart and soul have been nurtured by the enduring warmth of his loving mother. Skyle has always asked why a simple farmboy would have need for all manner of skills like hand-to-hand combat, wilderness tracking, archery, beast taming, geography, history, politics, and even embroidery! The one vital question remains unasked, however: just what are his parents preparing him for? The invasion of a demonic horde? The advent of an age of war and endless bloodshed? The dark legacy of an ancient mystical power? A desperate struggle to save the lives of those he holds dear? The end of the world? It is a good thing he never asked these questions, for the answer would have been yes - to all of them. Now Skyle must take his first steps beyond the sheltered world he has known. He has been raised strong, but is he strong enough? Welcome to a tale of friendship, love, loss and heartbreak. It chronicles the growth of a young boy into a legend whose path will shatter the very foundations of the world. Expect a rich, detailed world with vivid characters. Each will pursue their own complex agendas due to realistic motivations. The MC will be overpowered, not through liberal use of plot armor but rather the deliberate application of arduous training, clever thinking, and nurtured talent. Battles will be graphic, victories will be bittersweet, and defeat will not mean the end of the world - for time waits for no one and life goes on whether we like it or not. America Stranded In A Fantasy World
Ah, the year 2040, the turn of the decade, and what a way to start it off with America, Russia, and China about to go into a three-way brawl over resources and territory... Well, it would have been three-ways if America didn't suddenly get teleported to another world. What is President John meant to do in such a situation? A panicked and scared nation, beset on all sides by potential enemies, only having the once Pacific and Atlantic oceans protecting them... Perhaps his presidential campaign on a pre-emptive war footing was a gift...or a curse. Author Notes/Statements: Being Non-American(Canadian) I apologize ahead of time if I get anything wrong with either government structure or how certain people are supposed to speak/act.Updates for this story will be inconsistent as all hell, however, I will make sure to post 'update chapters' to keep those who are interested in my story in the loop on what's going on should there be a long period with no new chapters.
