《Diary of Erica Kron》Day 251

I have yet to actually interact with the sands of the desert in any meaningful way, but I am getting closer. At this point I am doing little more than throwing puppets at the desert and seeing how long they last. The best one so far hasn’t even gotten to the point of lasting a second, if it had I would have had enough time to grab a small chunk of the sand and bring back to experiment on. Though now that I write it down I am noticing some very obvious flaws in that plan, namly the fact that I have no idea how potent the poison is. This part is going to take a lot more work than I thought it would.
To make matter worse I have no idea what I need to do in order to make them last longer. Being physically bigger does help, but by such a small amount as to be irrelevant when you consider how much slower a large puppet moves. At this point I am basically making random changes and hoping something works, and I am getting some variation. But unfortunately, more often than not the change is so small that it is nearly impossible to measure if I only make one change, so I have to make a bunch of them to actually figure out if anything works. This has the obvious downside of making it difficult to figure out what exactly is helping and what isn’t.
This feels like the type of project where I am going to end up throwing a bunch of stuff at the wall until something sticks. I might need to figure out a different method for figuring this part out, my current method will work eventually but that eventually might take way longer than I am actually willing to spend. Or not. Who knows, maybe I will get lucky and figure it out by this time tomorrow. I don’t think I have enough Fate for that but maybe I will hit some plain old luck.

Many of the dungeons have stopped actually experimenting with necromancy and have started doing, something, I’m not entirely sure what. But apparently it has to do with figuring out why exactly Healers aren’t capable of necromancy. Apparently it has to do with going over some set of rules or something like that. Hopefully they find something useful. At this point I don’t even think necromancy would even benefit me all that much, but healing would definitely benefit Azrezel quite a bit.
Speaking of Azrezel, with time, effort, and more than a little brute force, Azrezel has successfully fixed the soul of one undead. He may have damaged it in another way during the process, but that is why he used one that is disposable to practice with, besides, it’s not like that damage is permanent, the soul is able to fix itself, albeit slowly. It wasn’t perfect, but it was significantly better nonetheless.
Other than that I hung out with Tiddol today. She has finished a number of projects since asking me to buy her some plants, pretty much all of them requiring one or more of them. I even got to test some of the finished projects, though not many of them as apparently drinking too many potions in a short period of time can cause some issues. My favorite one was something she called stoneskin, which does basically just that, turn you skin into stone. It made me feel heavy and powerful, like I could break a dragon’s nose with my fist. I doubt that was actually true, but it was a nice feeling nonetheless. Another one I liked combined Pyre and Whitelock to let the drinker breath fire for a short time, called firebreath for obvious reasons. It isn’t that these potions didn’t exist before, or that Tiddol didn’t know how to make them before, it’s that Tiddol has somehow made them better, at least according to her. I honestly have no idea how any of that works, so I’ll trust her judgement.

A-Live AI
The year is 2247. For almost two hundred years Sentient AI research has been banned. Everyone knew this, and yet no one has ever given up on finding the perfect setup for it. Restricted AI are rare, but possible to get ahold of if you have the money and the clout to get through the law for it. Especially when it deals with the military. Alfred Homis is an engineer and has spent the last three years working for the United Terran Military's Research and Exploration Department. Specifically to help build a 'shackled' AI who's prime directive was to explore potentially habitable worlds. Worlds that are far cheaper to colonize and add to the United Terran Directorate's fold than terraforming. During the AI's maiden voyage things go horribly wrong, taking Alfred Homis along for the ride. Thrown into a parallel universe where the laws of physics are just a little messed up, Alfred finds himself trapped inside the very machine he'd helped to build. Add magic, hostile fantasy creatures, and two different pantheons of 'Gods' to the mix and things get even more complicated. Oh, and an invasion between universes to boot. But that's just all in a days work though for Alfred, the AI Lord. Authors Note: Hi guys! Long time no see. And yes, I know that's all on me. But I blame life for that. Anyway, this is my new work, and I hope you guys enjoy it! The chapters are a little shorter than I'd previously posted in my other stories, but I cannot say that I have the same amount of time or energy to write them like that anymore. Sorry about that. Still, some warnings: There is cursing in this story. I am not going to edit it out. There will be sexual content later. Blood, gore and cruel depictions are all planned. If that isn't your thing, I'd suggest you turn back now. There is also my dry, and often not-so-funny sense of humor. And oh, it's all in first person gain. Haha. I just tend to write better that way. If none of that bothers you, then enjoy the read! Feel free to comment, point out mistakes, or make suggestions! Reviews are nice too, but please lay off the criticism until the story gets good and going. Thank you. Note 1: Some edits to the synopsis.

Settlement of Safehaven - A Hearthtree Series
"Welcome to the ECS Asgard, your ride through the stars to your new home-" Or so goes the sales spiel of this one of four and first-produced colonization ship, a spiel meant to placate the portions of humanity who would be selected for such a journey through the stars. It was meant to be a simple thing; people would sleep in hibernation or stasis, to experience their lives within the virtual reality world which kept their minds occupied. The virtual world was meant to simulate a fantasy world of Viking or Roman lore. But not all with this virtual world was fine; nor were the humans who were selected for its maiden and only voyage. One colonist lost everything dear to him, but through his pain and torment, he gained the attention of the colony ship's AI.

Author's note: This is my first novel and as you had expected from the title, it's a xianxia novel. It's going to take a couple years to finish so stay a while. I will need your continued support to stay strong and finish this as fast as I can for all of you. Each chapter will have 2000 words at least. Posting schedule: 1 regular chapter a week. There may be an extra one so watch out for that. There may be a few errors here and there so I would like your assistance in spotting them. Thanks for reading! P.S the cover isn't mine, you can find it here. I just edited it a bit. https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Sword_Specialist_(3.5e_Prestige_Class)
