《Diary of Erica Kron》Day 227

Today I continued to learn under Shirliex. She commented about how she wished all of her pupils learned as quickly as me, and that it wouldn’t be too long before there would no longer be anything she would be able to teach me. Or rather no longer be anything she would be willing to teach me, I don’t blame her for wanting to keep her secrets. It’s not like I am the official disciple of her clan or something, she’s doing this for money.
The leaders of the city Par captured arrived two days ago, but I was more than a little distracted by other things. I couldn’t exactly let my new tutor just wait around, but I could let those captive wallow in a cell.
They were all chained up very carefully and put under active guard to make absolutely certain they wouldn’t escape. They were also all locked up in separate buildings to prevent any mundane means of communication and there were mages nearby to monitor for magical means.
They were more than a little roughed up, except for the two of them that had some skill in self-healing. I would prefer they be in good health before I do anything to them so I made sure to heal their injuries.
Then I started reading their minds. None of them were innocent per se. All of them had plotted against me in one way or another, but that isn’t really surprising considering the fact that I do, did, represent a threat to their home. But for the most part, it is basically what I would expect from someone in their position. Yeah, learning about how they wanted to burn down my forest ticks me off a little, but it’s hardly damning.
There were three of them that knew about the attempt to kidnap me, but two of them were only aware of it, they had no part in any of it. Or if they did those memories have been wiped, which is a bit of a stretch but not completely impossible. Regardless I would rather not hurt a relatively innocent person, so I ignored them.

The last guy, however, was a financial backer of the attempted kidnapping. Not a major one, but he did put a significant amount of his own money towards hiring those mercenaries. So with him I did a bit of practice, I wanted to figure out what exactly would happen if you mess up while using Solar Energy to improve the body in all sorts of different ways. A lot of those things ended up being difficult, and painful, to reverse. I’m not so heartless, metaphorically speaking as I don’t actually have a heart, to leave him in constant agony so eventually I did let him die.
Other than that I spent some time with Tiddol in her new laboratory. It seems like she’s gotten a couple assistant since yesterday. A couple of the Ents had some skill with alchemy and other crafts from a previous life, and the same held true for one of the clockwork people. Most still have not learned language, but he was a quick study. It isn’t very often that you have functionally infinite supplies and high-grade equipment, or so I’m lead to believe, so they are getting a bit ambitious. How exactly I have no idea, but I am looking forward to finding out.
Anyway, Good Night Diary.

It is easy to imagine the adventures of Alpha Team and the carnage unleashed by modern technology against monsters and medieval folk.” Story also available on Wattpad and Webnovel!

A Nation of Distances (possibly a dystopian love story)
Michael lives in a toxic macho world with extreme male hierarchy. When he gets a weird rating that makes his place even more problematic he's forced to choose a fiancée at a Wife School, and he slowly discovers more about the other side of the great divide between the sexes in The Nation. If only the world would stop being so complicated... On the other side there's Megan, who's more interested in books than in marriage, and the unpredictable Eliza who seems to have a connection with Micheal already. Will they be able to cross the distance and become friends against all the rules of their own world, or will they just be crushed? Are positive relationships between men and women even possible? And is there a way to change the world or is that just a naive thought of a silly wimp? 'A Nation of Distances' is a slightly dystopian dialogue-heavy drama set in a low sci-fi future setting about the war between the sexes, disconnect and friendship. The genre will fluctuate in between more slice-of-life parts and soft sci-fi drama with possible romantic elements, with alternating lead and switching perspectives once more of the main characters are established. Content Warning: Certain concepts and scenes might be disturbing and/or triggering to some, even though the story itself won't be extremely heavy most of the time. Sexism as a double-edged sword destructive to both sexes is an important part of the story, but so is friendship.Note that all descriptions of persons and places are purely fictional and made up by the writer, and any resemblance with anything in the real world is a coincidence, since the real world is not supposed to be dystopian anyway!
