《Diary of Erica Kron》Day 309

Astrie evolved today. It happened quickly and without theater. One minute I was refining it, the next I felt the worlds mana flow into it and start to change it. I wasn’t able to do anything to the plant while it was in the process of evolving.
From there Mest and I experimented with the newly evolved plant. Mest proposed the name Spellwood for it, and I couldn’t come up with anything better.
The first thing that happened was Mest tried to manipulate it, with a little bit of instruction from me. He failed completely, of course. He doesn’t have the right parts to manipulate plants, maybe with years of study or a lucky evolution he would be able to but both of those things are years away.
The first thing he tried to get me to make was a small teleportation circle. I do not understand anything about teleportation and his explanations went over my head. I think he was getting a little overzealous in his approach. So we dialed it back down.
The first thing I successfully made was a fire pit. It quickly ran out of mana. I needed to figure out how to allow it to either store a larger amount of mana or draw in ambient mana, otherwise, it would be mostly useless. Lucky for me I created the Ents, I know exactly how to do both of those things, other plant manipulators will not have that luxury.
Even knowing how to do both of those things it took me about an hour before I managed work out all of the kinks. From that I learned something important, working with Spellwood stretches my capabilities close to their limits. After it’s evolution it is easily the most complex plant I have ever worked with, by several orders of magnitude, on top of that it is just innately powerful. Trying to do anything complicated with it will tax me, similar to how actually building the Ents taxed me.

The upside of that is once I have figured out how to do something with Spellwood it becomes incredibly simple to do it again, though again, that is due to how gifted I am at plant manipulation.
I am excited about the possibilities of this plant, and even more excited about the opportunity to stretch my magical prowess.
Mest is a little bit disappointed though. Prior to me completing Spellwood he used his contacts to compile a list of skilled plant manipulators that he could hire. The only ones skilled enough in plant manipulation to actually work with the stuff are those like me, Sprites and Nymphs in charge of a grove or forest, they can’t exactly leave, and even if they could they would be losing a major part of their ability to manipulate plants, making it pointless in the first place.
I mean one of the Ents could definitely do it, but none of them have shown any interest in anything relating to plant manipulation. Mest knows me well enough that he won’t try to force the issue with them.
I can work with this plant, but I don’t know enough about magic outside of plant manipulation for it to really be useful.
Anyway, Good Night Diary.

DEATH While there is a difference as to when a person or object will "end," it is certain that they will all arrive at that point because death is not something that "arrives," but rather is something already contained within an object at its creation and certainly bound to happen as part of the principle of causality.

Teddy Bear
As it would stand, the truth of the matter was that aliens had visited Earth before. Roswell was neither a hoax nor unique. It was simply a consequence of a world growing smaller as communication systems became more and more advanced, partly a result of said visitations. For the most part, past interactions between one of the planet Earth's more intelligent species of lifeform and the alien visitors were along the lines of obscure scientific surveys and tests disturbingly similar to attempts by some human scientists to estimate the intelligence of simians. For any species capable of travelling the stars. Visiting planet Earth made about as much sense as backpacking through the Ural Mountains of Siberia with nothing but a flint and a compass. That is to say, most people would prefer to stay close to someplace within walking distance of a mall or a population density slightly higher than four sapient beings per parsec. Still, statistically speaking, there are bound to be some weirdos who find joy rides though a nowhere solar system fun. Just buzzing a frantic farmer or two and playing chicken with an F-16 for the heck of it. Maybe even bring home a bovine to show off to the guys at the office.

An Invisible Girl
Not all Isekai is Human This is the story of the last survivor of her race, who is offered the option to be reborn in another world to continue the fight against the monsters that consumed her species. The new world is a horrible death world. It is filled with both beauty and horror, strange sentients of various types and perhaps the most dangerous monsters ever conceived. Humans. Two aliens. two violently opposed cultures. Is One little world big enough for both of them? First note: Please don't expect immediate action and slaughter and sex. There's a lot of conversation, drama, and interaction, as she learns about her new world. Second note: This is not 'humans as monsters'. It is more like "There are monsters, but humans can make their own". Technically I guess it qualifies as a system apocalypse, but it never really hits the apocalypse parts. Third note: This IS a Litrpg and the 'classes' provide some superhero-style action, eventually. It isn't strictly superhero, though. a lot of bits are contemporary fantasy, some are pure sci-fi, and some are superhero, depending on how people choose their new abilities. The overall theme is technically sci-fi, but soft like a baby. Fourth note: there is some sexuality (not sex) involving a protagonist in a 17-year-old body. Her mind is over 50 years old, though, and the body was created at that age in order to give her 6 months' leeway to learn to be human. This is not juvenile sex stuff, as the character is fully adult, just not adult as a Human.Plus it's mostly included for humor and alien context.
