《Purple Lightning Emperor》Chapter 127- The End Of The Battle

While Shad was on the frontline, harvesting the lives of the Grey Horned Wolves with his red Lightning Scyte, Little Blue was on the back, biting them to death.
In the meantime, Mark, Gomez, Clyde, Nina, and the other generals of the Lightning Corps were in front of the defensive formation fighting alongside everyone.
"Everyone be careful! The Grey Horned Wolves have intelligence, they know how to attack weak spots. Do not let them break the formation!"
Gomez reminded everyone, his expression was grim as he circulated his mana and continued shooting some low-level magic spells. Gomez was a mage, not a warrior, so all he could do was to cast some low-level magic spell at the incoming Wolves. Even though he wasn't able to kill them in one shot just like the 4th imperial prince, he still managed to heavily injure them.
As for the others, they were armed with lances, bows, swords, and other long ranged weapons. They huddled within the defensive circle, preparing for the moment when the second waves of the Grey Horned Wolves drew close enough so they could kill them and defend themselves.
" They are coming again."
Vivi grimly yelled as she held two magic scrolls on her hands which were emanating a powerful fiery magic power. Just like the others, Vivi had her strength suppressed as well, she was only able to cast low-level magic spells such as level one fireball which didn't contain enough power to kill a single grey horned wolf, as such, she only relied on her abundance magic scrolls to take them out.
The dozens of Grey Horned Wolves surged over at the same time, attacking from all four directions; Mark, Gwen, Nina, and Elano all infused energy into their weapons and waiting for the wolves. Even though they had their cultivation base suppressed by the Tower, they were still able to use their skills, though it wasn't as powerful as before.
Behind them, the others were either desperately shooting arrows or throwing their spears towards the wolf pack.
"Whoosh whoosh whoosh! Clap clap clap!"
"Awoooo!"
The Grey Horned Wolves powerfully howled as they charged at the defensive formation composed by Shad's group. Even under the barrage of arrows and spears, they weres still recklessly charging at them.

Each arrow and spear could only leave shallow cuts on the wolves' bodies and were unable to truly wound them.
Only Shad and Little Blue, as well as Vivi's magic scrolls, were able to cause the wolves to cry out in pain and kill them when they were hit, causing some of the wolves to avoid them in a panic.
The first wave of the Grey Horned Wolves' attack was unable to break through the defensive formation as Shad had gotten back in time and slaughtered them before they could cause any real damage. Taking the red lightning scythe wielded by him, and the powerful body of Little blue as well as its Lightning Blasts, the wolves hurriedly retreated, temporarily leaving the two's attack range in the first wave.
Which caused the first wave of the offense to end extremely quickly, and thus they were only able to leave a few wounds on some of on Shad's group before they were driven away.
However, they had gone all out on the second wave of attacks as they charged towards Mark and Gomez's group, leaving behind their most powerful comrades to take care of Shad and Little Blue.
" Damn, those damn wolves are really smart. They are focussing on attacking the side of the formation that has many mages instead of warriors because they knew they don't carry any weapons and also their attack power wasn't as strong as the warriors. Unlucky for you, this young lady always comes prepared." Vivi said as she saw that there were a lot of wolves that were attacking the people on her side as well as Gomez's.
Furthermore, there were several mages who were injured. There were imperial soldiers with heavy injuries too, as such, she decided to go big. Vivi always believed in saving as many as soldiers possible in the battlefield. She didn't want to see anyone from her side die on the battlefield if she could save them.
She saw that the threat of the wolves was getting more fierce and some of the soldiers were on the brink of death. She quickly took out a powerful fire magic scroll which was called Fire Storm from her magic pouch. She looked at the in incoming wolves and threw it inside their pack.

Boom~
A loud noise echoed as a huge flame which formed a tornado appeared on the spot. It instantly killed several Grey Horned Wolves at the time of the explosion. Afterward, the storm began to sway and whirr around. The flames began to encounter and swallow all the Grey Horned wolves in its vicinity. The Grey Horned wolves turned into ash as soon as the storm of fire swallowed them. Everyone was stunned when they saw this, including Shad and Little Blue. It was an 8th rank magic scroll and also one the five most powerful magic scrolls in Vivi's arsenal.
" There's a lot more where it came from," Vivi said as she threw another powerful magic scroll on the other side where Monalisa and Mina were positioned.
As soon as that magic scroll landed on the ground, a heaven-shaking cold magic power erupted out from the ground.
The cold energy instantly spread for hundreds of meters, causing all the grey horned wolves within that area to begin to tremble as they iced over. Freezing ice covered the whole area. The frozen corpses of the wolves stood there like ice statues, whether on the ground, lying down, or standing up. There was no longer any hint of life in them.
In the meantime, over a hundred grey horned wolves surrounded Shad and attacking him like crazy. Clawing, biting tearing, they resorted to every possible means, for a while. Shad felt that there were only wolf silhouettes all around him, countless wolf claws were slashing at his body.
However, with his godly speed, none of them were able to leave a scratch on him. He was swinging his red lightning scythe left and right. With every swing, he was able to kill at least seven wolves.
The red lightning bolts enveloped his whole body, and as he moved within the pack of wolves, he left countless afterimages behind. Some of the wolves even attacked his afterimages thinking that it was his real body, however, by the time they realized that it was just an illusion, they were already cut in half by his red lightning scythe.
Bang!
In the Back, A subtle yet loud bang reverberated out followed by the sound of bones being crushed. After taking such a huge blow from Little blue, the once strong and confident wolf cried out in a horrified matter. His sturdy body was sent flying away like a kite.
Bang bang bang...
The loud banging sound continued as Little Blue was ramming through the pack of wolves like a big bulldozer.
There was one unlucky wolf who made the mistake of biting little blue. In return, Little blue had opened up his huge mouth wide and moved as fast as lightning, biting down on the wolf's neck.
Slosh~
A stream of blood sprouted out from the wolf's neck, Little Blue tore off a huge chunk of meat from the wolf, creating a huge bloody hole in its neck.
This was a wound that guaranteed death. It had caused the wolf to instantly lose all ability to fight. It cried out in a terrified manner, but this wasn't the end. Lord Little Blue was ruthless and cruel. He used his steel hard paws and crushed the wolf's skull, cracking it open. Even the mushy brain was squeezed out from it. What a terrible way to die.
"Hehe, a toothless wolf, how dare you bite me. You're just looking for death!"
Little Blue was laughing out happily as she recklessly rushed within the pack of wolves again like a madman and rammed into them.
The bloody battle went one for another half hour before the rest of the wolves decided to retreat. The wolf' s intelligence was not low, so when they realized they couldn't kill those humans and were losing a lot of their members instead.
One of them urgently roars at once, and following that roars, several hundred grey horned wolves immediately retreat at a fast speed, running directly towards the mountain on the opposite direction where the portal that led to the second floor of the Tower was.

Small Chests Are Fine Too
It is an undeniable fact that good things come in small packages. More often than not, it is necessary to trim the fat in order to bring what really matters to the forefront. Having extra bulk may seem like a good idea, but in reality it is merely a crutch that will one day become a hindrance, as it is no substitute for personality nor ability. Indeed, often times it is the small things in life that brighten up our daily lives and constantly remind us exactly why we do the things we do. However, it is important to keep an open mind, for while bigger is not always better, there are also times when it is. This holds especially true when it comes to hopes and dreams, which have been known to require a suitably large container from time to time. And while dreaming big could potentially lead to massive dissapointment, one will never truly reach fulfilment if they think too small. A truth that one small woman with meager aspirations is about to find out. DISCLAIMER: This is a spin-off/side story of my main series, Everybody Loves Large Chests, which is also mandatory reading to understand this one. It runs parallel to the main plot, branching off from the chapter titled Upheaval 2, so there will be spoilers for anyone who hasn't reached that point.

A D&D Gamer in Garweeze Wurld
He doesn't know how he got here, and while the trappings are familiar, he doesn't actually know where he is, either. From the perspective of those around him, Duromar is a half-ogre barbarian, an uncivilized brute by any standard you care to use. But from his perspective, he's a character created in a gaming system. From either one, he must live within the rules of that system. This is the story of a gamer who ends up in a game that's just a bit off from what he knows. ---- I wanted to write something a little bit old-school. Most of the LitRPG I've found seems to be based on computer RPG styled stories. Progression through levels is fast, and depending on the game, skills and even attributes can be trained with or without class levels. This wasn't true with the older pen and paper games, and that's the style of leveling I wanted to write.
