《Purple Lightning Emperor》Chapter 115

After slaughtering the fleeing members of the Eye, Shad did not waste any time as he quickly returned to meet with the others.
When he returned to their campsite, Drake and the others just happened to be back as well. They all looked tired and and little pale as they went through a huge battle. However, when they saw Shad return unscathed, they all had an expression of disbelief on their faces.
They've already heard everything from Klaus. How Shad had chased after the fleeing attackers within the endless mist by himself and slaughtered them all one by one. They utterly couldn't believe that he'd just experienced a bloody battle because he looked just fine without a scratch on him.
A few seconds later, a burly middle-aged appeared and stood behind Shad like a bodyguard. With a single glance, Florence and Klaus had quickly recognized that middle-aged man because he was none other the leader of the group of people that had just ambushed them earlier.
Their eyes narrowed a little when they saw this man following Shad as though he was his servant. However, when they saw the lifeless look on his eyes, Klaus and Florence seemed to have become aware of something as they both simultaneously shot their gazes at Shad with a shocked and a surprised expression on their faces.
Ignoring the stunned expression on their faces, Shad quickly spoke with a solemn expression on his face." I have both a bad and a good news for you guys."
" The good news is that I have already taken care of the fleeing members of the Eye, which means they won't bother us anymore untill we reached the Tower. The bad news is that the Progenitor of the Eye himself is currently inside the Tower searching for the treasures left by Henry followed by a group elite members of the Eye"
As soon as they heard this, they instantly became pale. Their eyes and mouths were frozen wide open in an expression shocked. Their faces washed blank with confusion like their brains cogs couldn't turn fast enough to process that kind of information. Every muscle on their bodies just froze.

How can this be?
Who was the progenitor of the Eye?
He was an old monster that none of the 9th rank experts within the continent dared to face alone unless they had no choice. No one had never seen his face as he always wore a mask and he also barely left his base.
He's considered as the highest existence and also the oldest existence within the continent. His true strength was not something that the other 9th rank experts could even dare to fathom. Even though they were all 9th rank experts, there was a clear disparity between their actual strength and their combat prowess.
It is said that the progenitor of the Eye was halfway from breaking through the legendary Archmage rank, but because of his innate talent, he couldn't take that last step in becoming a transcendent being.
So , for an existence like the progenitor of the Eye to personally enter the Tower to look for the treasures left by Henry, was something that was beyond their imaginations. Their task or their mission has suddenly become a hundred times harder because they' ll have to compete against someone that not even their ancestors were confident in defeating.
Moreover, they still didn't know how the progenitor was able to slip through the watch of the magic knight council and entered the Tower himself because the Magic Knight council had sent two 9th rank experts to personally keep a close watch around what they thought to be the main base of the Eye.
It was because of that reason that they didn't go themselves and sent their most promising younger generations to look for the treasures left by Henry in their stead while they kept the Progenitor of the Eye at bay.
Now that the progenitor had entered the Tower himself, Everything has changed.
Seeing the serious and shocked expression of the faces of the other Novas, Florence quickly consoled them as she said in a light voice. " We don't have to be too worried. No matter how formidable the progenitor of the Eye is, so long as he entered the Great Tower, then his strength will be restricted just like us. Even though he will regain some of his strength as he moved up to the higher floor of the Tower, it still won't be a problem. According to the information that the founders of the four empires have left behind, in the 1st floor one could only exert the strength of 1st rank mage or warrior and so on. So, so long as we don't meet him on the 8th or 9th floor, we still have a chance."

It's true , though the progenitor of the eye was strong but by entering the Tower , he'd have his strength restricted which will in turn make him vulnerable.
Nonetheless, though Florence was trying to console them, they still were unable to accept this fact. Not only they'll have to compete against one another, but they'll have to face someone like the progenitor of the Eye as well.
None of them was strong enough to face the progenitor of the Eye by themselves. Even if they prolonged their alliance, it still wouldn't be enough. Not to mention they wouldn't want to because aside from the treasures left by the Henry, there were many more valuable treasures in the Tower as well. Once they get inside, they all will go their separate ways until they met on the other floors or the 9th floor where the treasures might be.
Moreover, for the sake of seizing the treasures left by Henry, or perhaps the other treasures that were already inside the Tower, they would do anything and won't stop at anything. This mission was related to the rise and fall of their empire, so they had no time to be tenderhearted.
They'd never imagined that this old monster had come personally in the Tower. Each one of them as a Nova was already enough a headache for the others as their strength was almost the same, but now there's another terrifying expert in the mix. They couldn't help but wonder who will be the biggest winner...?
After a while, their confident hearts that had been swayed by the sudden appearance of the progenitor of the Eye was slowly returned back to normal and the intense excitement they had, when they were crossing the endless mist, was slowly coming back as well.
Even though the progenitor of the Eye was very strong, there are other ways they could fight him and even defeat him such as using magic scroll which was an item made specifically for battle or when facing a powerful opponent. It instantly casts a spell on the target upon release and also it comes in different elements and ranks. Even though the Great Tower restrict one's cultivation, it didn't affect or restrict the use of magic scrolls.
While they were trying to comfort themselves and trying to regain their bearings, Shad suddenly dropped another bomb which instantly shattered their tiny bits of confidence they've just amassed. It was as though he was the bearer of bad news.
" Ohh yeah, I almost forgot about that. There are five powerful magical beasts guarding the Tower. Three of them were at the peak of 7th rank while the others were both 8th ranks."
" The three 7th rank beasts are a poisonous Python, Flame Tiger, and an Ice Rhino. As for the two 8th ranks, there's a Thunder wolf and a Golden Lion. So I suggest before we continue moving forward, we should discuss whose gonna fight which beast because we can't enter the Tower unless we defeat them or slip past them." Shad said with a serious expression on his face.
