《Purple Lightning Emperor》Chapter 114

Not even a second has passed since Shad had dashed into the endless mist and a sudden ear-piercing shrill echoed out within the distance. Since then, the shrill screams continued to resound time and time again as Shad was slaughtering his way within the endless mist.
At this time, this place became hell. Shad was like a death reaper as he was killing the fleeing attackers one by one.
After failing to kill the 7 Novas, the members of the Eye thought that by retreating further within the endless mist, they would be safe because one could barely see twenty meters ahead in this place unless one uses its spiritual force to scan the area. Furthermore, they knew that the others wouldn't dare to take the risk in following them as they were retreating because they didn't know if there were more of them ahead, waiting to ambush them. However, out of nowhere a shadowy figure appeared and start killing them one by one.
That figure was so fast that they couldn't even see his face except for the traces of red lightning bolts he left behind as he moved from place to another with a lightning speed.
" Who, who the hell are you.?" The burly middle-aged man who was the leader roared loudly with a terrified look on his face. Although he was injured by an arrow, he was still able to use his full strength of a mid 7th rank warrior. However, he still wasn't able to keep up with that shadowy figure, let alone stop him.
Who was it who could move so fast within the endless mist, unhindered by the thick fog and killed his subordinates under his nose? From the information they were able to gather, the uncrowned emperor was the strongest of the Seven Novas. However, he was an earth mage and his speed was not that fast. The only person that used lightning among the 7 Novas was the 4th imperial prince of the Djage Empire. He was the only person that the leader could think of unless there was a high-level master hiding within the group. Plus, he didn't think that the 4th imperial was that powerful and fast. Even though there were rumors about how fast and strong the 4th imperial prince was, the leader didn't think it was to the extent where he could effortlessly kill his subordinates who were mostly mid-level warriors. Was it a powerful magical beast?.
Furthermore, no matter the conclusion or who that person was , It was still bad for him because that person or beast seemed like he won't stop untill he killed every last one of them.
While the leader was still trying to figure the identity of that person that was killing his subordinates,
" Puff." Another one of his men fell down with his throat cut open and painted the ground red with his fresh blood.
At this moment, it was as if a fearsome devil was hiding within the endless mist. A terrifying shadow shrouded around the fleeing members of the Eye. No one had clearly seen who it was that was killing them? How did he do it? They were even more ignorant whether the next one to die would be themselves. This kind of unknown fear was the most terrible kind.

The 6th, 7th and the 8th members of the Eye suddenly fell down on the ground with fresh blood gushing out from their cutthroats. It was if a death's sickle was silently reaping their lives within the endless mist one by one
No matter whether they were 3rd rank, 4th rank, and 6th rank warriors, under the attacks of that shadowy figure, only death awaited them, only death reigned supreme.
At this time, there was no path to escape. No matter how fast they were, they couldn't escape the slaughtering of this shadowy figure. No matter how far they ran, they still felt as though they were being eyed by a poisonous snake.
Within the endless mist, nonstop screams for their mothers and fathers filled the air. All of them wished they could immediately leave this hellish place. Many of them pissed their pants from terror while screaming in fear and running for their lives. At this point, all of them were using their fastest speed to escape, but running form that shadowy figure was not an easy task.
" Am I .....Am I going to die here!" The leader's legs became weak from horror and his face was filled with dread. He tried to support his body as he shifted his gazes into the distance, watching the red streak of light followed by an earring buzzing sound appearing and suddenly disappearing within the thick endless mist and harvesting the lives of his subordinates one by one. Wherever it goes, an ear-piercing cry follow. The funny thing was, that shadowy figure came close to him many times and even killed a person that was next to him, yet that figure didn't even try to attack him. It was as though he was saving him for dessert which terrified him. He wanted to flee, but he knew that it was impossible to run away from that figure.
" Everyone stop running and come to gather here, lean against each other." The leader roared loudly to his fleeing subordinates in a last dish of effort. He really didn't want to die today, however, none of them listened to him as they scattered like birds and running for their lives.
It was hard to describe what emotions were going through the leaders' head as he watched that demon reaping the lives of his men.
He was a mid 7th rank warrior and a high-level member of the Eye. Even though he was not part of the Elite group that had entered the Tower to personally look for the treasures left by Henry, he was still an important member. He was supposed to have a tremendous bight future ahead of him and even had the possibility of becoming an elite member of the Eye in the future after breaking through the 8th rank, but it was all about to disappear now.
....
" Does brother Shad really plan on killing every last one of them." The pungent smell of blood assaulted her nose even though she was a little far away. Florence was trembling as she kept hearing the shrill cries of the attackers within the endless mist. When Shad said that he was going to take care of them, she thought that she was going to kill two or three of them while they were fleeing and then come back. She'd never thought that he was going to slaughter all of them.

Florence was a void mage and also one of the 7 novas, she had been to many battles. For her, brawls and scuffles were merely everyday meals. But with the Eye's prestige within the Egul Continent, there was no opponent or empire who'd struggle with them to the death unless they have the absolute confidence that they could kill their progenitor or the real master of the Eye who's still remain a mystery till today. Where had she seen someone so brazen as Shad who took pleasure in slaughtering the members of the Eye and toying with them?
It is true that right now it's a different case because of the appearance of the treasures left by Henry. It was either them or the Eye because whoever got their hands on that treasure will sooner or later become the overlord of the Egul Continent, but still, Shad was crazier and bloodthirsty than she thought despite his scholarly appearance.
" Since you contracted a blood feud, of course, you need to kill them to the last," Klaus replied in a cold tone. It was unknown if he was referring to members of the Eye or his blood feud with Shad. Furthermore, even though Shad was killing the members of the Eye and clearing the way for them, Klaus didn't know whether to be happy or afraid. Though they were ally at this moment, they had a deep enmity and were mortal enemies. Their alliance was only temporary and as soon as the made it to the power, they'll become enemy again.
" I've always thought that you were very smart and cunning, always weight the cons and pros before doing anything, you only make your move when you're sure of victory, yet you dare to make an enemy out of this little freak which I find completely dumb and foolish . Anyway, I know that you are cooking up some scheme to get rid of him with Drake, just don't include me and my cousin Andre into your plan." She didn't know why, but her intuition told her not to mess with this young man otherwise the consequence is not something she and her family could handle.
Florence was a smart young woman who always trusts her gut feeling, and right now her intuition's telling her not to make an enemy out of this young man even if she was able to acquire the treasures left by Henry. Unlike Drake who was constantly emanating a powerful and overbearing aura around him, Shad look quite bland and lacked perceivably excellent qualities aside from his tall handsome look and his dazzling crimson eye, but deep down, Florence knew that this young man was a frightening person.
....
After some time, the shrill cries of his men finally stop and the endless mist regained his quietness.
At this moment, the leader had seemingly sunken into a nightmare he couldn't wake up from as he watched the horrifying shadowy figure walking slowly towards him from within the thick mist. Strands of red lightning were constantly flashing around his body as though he was the center of a storm.
As he got closer, his facial feature became visible. He was very young and his face was carrying a faint smile, like a hunter catching up to his prey after a long chase. In his right hand was a small kitchen knife that was drenched with fresh blood.
' It's .....it's you." Blurted out the leader as his body was drenched in sweat from fear when he finally saw the person that was slaughtering his men. He couldn't believe that the person who made him fall into this abyss of despair was the 4th imperial prince of the Djage Empire.
" I am sorry for the long wait," Shad said with a faint smile on his face as he was slowly approaching the leader.
" If I tell you everything, will you spare m...., Ah" At this desperate juncture, the leader didn't care about anything, he just wanted to live even it means betraying the Eye. He wasn't as loyal as the others. He only joined the Eye because they've held his wife hostage and forced him to join just like many other members. However, that bitch had left him for an elite member of the Eye not too long ago. He only stayed in the organization because he was already in too deep. Also, he had already gotten used to that life. Now that his life was in danger, he didn't hesitate to betray them. However, two lightning arrows had already pierced him through before he could even finish talking.
" Whether you tell me everything or not is beyond you," Shad said in an icy cold tone. He wasn't the least bit interested in making a deal with that man.
The reason he had killed all of his men and left him alive was that he wanted to use his brain-devouring insect on him and turned him into a mindless zombie. After turning him into a zombie, not only Shad would know everything about the Eye's plan, he will also have a human shield.
Furthermore, Shad didn't have the slightest bit of favorable impression towards the people from the Eye. Not only because they had done many bad deeds and was an evil organization that's trying to take over the Egul continent, but mainly because they were the ones responsible for the destruction of Monalisa's family and turned her into a slave. Even though she never talked about it, Shad knew that she was always thinking about getting her revenge, but because she was too weak and didn't want to put him in danger, she'd never made any move or even asked him for help. She tried her best to put those bad memories behind while trying to move on with her new life.
