Half an hour after the battle, the Lightning Corps, the four imperial knights along with the girls were finally on their way to meet with Shad after making sure that the battle was over.

Soon, they finally made it to Shad's location. However, as soon as they got there, they were all frozen and petrified by the sight in front of them.

Shad was sitting on a trunk of a broken tree with his disheveled purple-black hair hanging over his bruised face and his body covered in blood, and around him was a huge swathe of destruction. The landscape around him which was once a green land filled trees and grasses, now stood like a skeleton, a barren wasteland with uprooted and splintered trees everywhere and countless deep craters caused by large heavy footsteps.

At this moment, the Dark Forest was very quiet. The air was heavy with the smell of blood. There were no birds that flew or sang around the area, even the wind had left this part of the forest.

However, that wasn't all. The shock that they received after seeing the huge lifeless body of the Earth Destroying Battle Ape a few dozen meters away from Shad, was far greater than when they saw the devasted state of the forest after the battle. Every single Lightning Corps member's face instantly grew lifeless when they saw that.

Their eyes were glued on the Earth Destroying Battle Ape whose head was bleeding profusely with a look of extreme disbelief. The battle Ape's head and its body were filled with countless gaping holes as though it was shot by a huge artillery cannon multiple times.

One has to understand, The battle Ape was a 7th class magical beast and was known for its unbreakable defense and tough skin. Even a peak 7th rank warrior would find it very difficult and tedious to injure or damage the battle ape, and an 8th rank warrior with powerful battle skills would still need to use an astounding amount of effort and strength to kill it.

To see this unbelievably tenacious and powerful beast was not only killed but mutilated by their young supreme commander who was not even over the age of eighteen yet, everyone was incredibly shocked.

At this moment, they finally realized how much a monster their supreme commander was and why the Old Ancestor or the guardian of the Djage Empire has entrusted him with such a dangerous mission in the Great Tower, a place that not many 9th rank warriors or mages would dare to venture.

Currently, they were looking at Shad with their eyes filled awe and worship. This is the 4th imperial prince of the Djage Empire, their supreme commander, the young man that will one day lord over this piece of land and lead them to a greater and bigger world.

As for Shad, he didn't take notice of the awe and shock of the Lightning Corps' members. At this moment, his mind was reeling from shock and happiness about the heaven-defying self-recovery ability of the purple lightning seed and its strengthening ability. Despite his foreknowledge, Shad couldn't help but be shocked by the extent the of the power of these two abilities.

" Elano, Elly, the two of you try to take out the Agate crystal within the Earth Destroying Battle Ape," Ordered Shad after he came back to his senses.

" Yes, your highness." They simultaneously answered. Unlike Mark, Elano and Elly didn't talk much but they like to battle. They were both young and it was also their first time leaving the imperial capital after they were assigned to Shad.

" Mark, stay here and protect the princess and the others. Monalisa, I want you to use your ability and take me to the lake that we had passed yesterday so I can clean myself." He continued after looking at his clothes that were covered in blood.

" Brother are you Ok." Asked Viviana with a worrying look on her face. Even though she likes to mess with his little brother, she didn't want anything to happen him.

" I am fine Vivi, also this isn't my blood," Shad answered with a smile on his face as he was looking at the worrying look on her big sister's face.

As for the other girls, even though they didn't say anything, the expression on their faces and the look in their eyes tell everything as they were looking at the bloody Shad.

After reassuring them that he was fine, Monalisa quickly took Shad to the lake so he could clean himself. Twenty minutes later, Shad and Monalisa came back and they resumed their journey to the Great Tower.

Although Shad was in the core region of the Dark Forest, he did his best to avoid region that had many powerful magical beasts by using his strong spiritual force. Right now, it's important for them to conserve their strength and stay in top shape because they were only two days away from the Great Tower. Even though Shad was self-confident, he still didn't want to irritate a powerful 8th class magical beast.

In the blink of an eye, they have traveled for an entire day. At this moment, all Lightning Corps' members have already set up their tents and were resting inside while some of them were patrolling the area. As for the girls, they went to the imperial capital as usual with Monalisa.

Ever since they started their journey to the Dark Forest, the girls haven't once taken their break within the forest with them. Sometimes, Shad really wanted to fool around with Monalisa at night but because of his sister, he couldn't as she always took her along.

Currently, Shad stood on the summit of a mountain with a somewhat pensive expression on his face while he was looking at the darkening sky, as faint sounds of thunder rumbled forth. He had been standing there for half an hour looking at the sky like that.

Boom!

Suddenly, a thunderclap rang out in the sky as a silvery light flashed past Shad and hit a huge tree in the distance which instantly turned into ashes. He didn't even budge to look at the smoking remains of the destroyed trees caused by the lightning strikes as his eyes were glued on the lightning cloud in the sky.

After a minute or so, a huge smile appeared on his face as though he suddenly discovered something interesting.

Zzzttt!

Suddenly, countless long and short lightning bolts spread out from his body like branches in four directions before he instantly disappeared like a lightning strike and appeared a hundred meters away from his previous location in less than a second.

" Hahaha, I understand now, so that's how it is," He said with a big smile on his face as he continued to spread out branches of lightning bolts from his body and disappeared again like lightning strikes. His speed was so fast that one might think he had teleported from his previous location to the next. It was almost as fast as a real lightning.

Within the forest, flashes of red lightning could be seen appearing and disappearing everywhere. This phenomenon kept on going for about an hour before it stopped.

Within his tent, Shad laid down on his bed as he raised his right hand in the air which was coiled around with red lightning bolts like snakes.

" I would have never thought about using the lightning energy in such a way if I haven't seen or pay attention to the lightning cloud in the sky. My speed had doubled now and the side effects are minimal." He murmured to himself.

To understand the sudden increase in Shad's speed, first one must have a deeper understanding of lightning. Usually, before a lightning strikes, there's an electric field that formed by the electrons below the cloud and protons on the ground.

The more electrons, the stronger is the electric field. In this situation, the clouds will discharge a small amount of electron which one might refer to as a guide.

The guide will then advance to find the shortest route the ground and that's why it will form many branches as it descends. As soon as the guide reaches the ground, a strong electric current will then travel to the predetermined route made or found by the guide which will produce a blinding flash at the same time. This what we call a lightning strike which travels at one-third the speed of the light.

Shad's purple lightning seed enabled him to generate lightning or electrical energy from within his body. So, after looking at how the lightning cloud in the sky sent out many branches of lightning bolts before the lightning strikes hit the ground or a tree in an exceedingly fast speed, he then was suddenly enlightened and found another way to use the lightning energy within his infinite space.

By spreading the electrical energy or the lightning bolts within his infinite space into branches to many locations, he was able to run or fly off like a lightning strike to the specific location touched by the guide or one of the lightning branches.

Although his speed wasn't as fast as real lightning. In human's eyes, there's no difference at all.
