《Purple Lightning Emperor》Chapter 97

In the blink of an eye, more than two hours have gone by and it was already past midnight. At this moment, the girls were already deep asleep. However, Shad and his old man were still in the living room talking to each other.
After spending more than two hours talking to each other and came to an understanding, the old man looked at Shad and eventually sighed before saying: " I have lived for countless years and spent a great deal of my time researching the Great Tower, and during that time, I got to know how horrifying and terrifying this place is. You will have a long and arduous journey ahead of you, but I hope you'll come back stronger and victorious because the fate of the Djage Empire depends on this quest."
" I understand old man." Shad took a deep breath before answering with a solemn expression on his face.
" You'll have to leave first thing in the morning with the Lightning Corps. The other three empires and some of the ancient noble families have already sent people over, so you will have to be careful because they have the same goal as you." Said the old man as he got up from the sofa and pat Shad's shoulder before leaving the room.
There was a trace of guilt in the old man's eyes. If it wasn't for the fact that he had no other choice, he wouldn't have sent his most promising and talented great-grandson to a place such as dangerous as the Great Tower. He would have gone himself. On the other hand, It was also because he was so capable and possess some heaven-defying means that he had entrusted this mission to him, despite his low cultivation level.
After the old man left the room, Shad didn't stay long in the living room as he opened the door and walked out of the house to take some fresh air in the courtyard and digested all the information he got from the old man.
The moon was still bright in the sky and the night air was a bit humid. As a cold breeze wafted on his face, Shad was thinking about everything he had discussed with his old man.
According to the old man, the people that started the rumor about Henry leaving a treasure in the Black Mist Forest was none other than the Eye. The underground organization that has been trying to take over the Egul Continent.

A few days ago, His grandfather had intercepted a member of the Eye who had finally found and abducted one of the descendants of Henry that was capable of translating the book he had left behind which might contain the information about the location of all his treasures and findings.
He was able to capture both of them. However, as soon Hegel made it to the imperial capital, The member of the Eye somehow escaped. Nonetheless, Hegel didn't bother to chase after him or to look for him because he already had who he was looking for the most which were of course Mina.
Unbeknownst to him, The 5th Eye had made Mina translated the first volume of the book before he had captured him. After his successful escape, he had divulged this information to his master, whom in turn made it public in order to force the Magic-Knight Council to take action by making them think that he had already known the content of the whole book.
Just like he had planned, The magic-Knight Council quickly called an emergency meeting and find a way to translate the whole book in order to prevent the Eye from getting the treasure left by Henry and to know everything that the Eye knew about Henry as well. What they didn't know was that one of the members of the Magic-Knight council was actually the 3rd Eye, the third most powerful member of the Eye.
He had infiltrated the Magic-Knight Council more than fifty years ago and didn't get caught untill the last meeting when the protector of the Draco Empire asked all of them to take an oath not divulge this information to anyone, especially the members of the Eye after they had translated the content of the book.
As the key member of his master's plan, the 3rd Eye was unable to take the oath, and he was forced to escape after his cover was blown. The main reason his master had divulged the contents of the first volume to the public was so that he could get the rest of the information from the Magic-Knight Council because he knew that they would do whatever it takes to prevent him from getting his hand on the treasures left by Henry.
If they ever knew that he got a hold of the contents of that book and where Henry had left all of his treasures, they would put all their differences aside and work together to get it before him or to prevent him from getting it because these treasures and the magic formulas were the keys to control and conquer the whole Egul continent. Because of that, they fell into his trap.

Now that he knew where Henry had left all of his treasures which was in the Great Tower, he quickly sent his subordinates to look for it despite the dangers or how ominous this place was. If he could get his hand on his magic formulas and the treasures, he could raise an army of the mid and high-rank level of warriors and easily swept over the continent. Even a 9th rank warrior or mage couldn't fight against a thousands of high-level warriors by himself.
Knowing that they have fallen into the Eye's trap, all the members of the Magic-knight councils were furious and lost their chances to look for the treasure themselves. As such, they were forced to send their descendants and subordinates instead while they stayed behind to protect their own territory as they were afraid that the Eye would take that chance to attack their respective Empires while they were away looking for that treasures in the Great Tower. Unlike the Eye who had approximately five 9th rank experts in their group, each of the Empire only had one or two 9th rank experts and they couldn't afford to lose any of them.
Losing any of the 9th rank experts, especially the protector of the empire means the fall of that empire. Without a 9th rank warrior or a 9th class mage to watch over an empire, this empire won't take long before it becomes like one of those small affiliates kingdom. It was because of that reasons that most of the 9th rank experts didn't want to take the chance of going to the Great Tower and sent some 8th rank experts instead.
The Great Tower was a very dangerous place. It has existed long before the creation of the four great empires. It was filled with magical beasts. For some unknown reason, the aura emitted by the Great Tower attracted many powerful beasts. Unlike the humans, once they entered, they could never go back. So one could imagine, how many powerful magical beasts were trapped within that Tower.
Furthermore, Aside from worrying about many powerful magical beats that were trapped within the Great Tower, one also needed to guard against each other. After all, the Great Tower was filled with many treasures, potions, battle skills, and magic spells.
Additionally, anyone entering the Great Tower would have their capabilities reduced greatly. Whether it was battle skills, magic spells, or various abilities, they would all be severely suppressed.
In short, the Great Tower was a place filled with danger. Many 8th ranks and 9th rank experts were buried there. This was why it was also known as the Great Tomb in many people's hearts.
As for Shad, except for looking for the treasure left behind by Henry in the Great Tower on behalf of his Empire, he had another personal mission which was way more dangerous than looking for the treasures and that was to subdue the Tower itself. Even if Henry did not leave any treasures in the Tower, he was still going there sooner or later. Unlike the others, Shad was well aware of the origin of the Tower. It was a huge estate that was created from one of the first Nine powerful Lightning Dragons and also one of the sets of the items created that mysterious man.
It was one of the things that could bring him a step closer to the truth about his true identity and the reasons why he was reincarnated into this world. After knowing that Henry had left all of his treasures somewhere within the Tower, Shad was rather happy because he didn't need any permission to go there from his family anymore as the old man had already given him the mission to retrieve the treasures left by Henry in the Tower.
When he had asked Monalisa to look for the old man, he was planning on telling him about how he was able to read the book left behind by Henry so that he could give him the rest of the volumes of the book, but it turned out that he didn't have to reveal that secret anymore.
After spending more than a half-hour in the courtyard, Shad decided to go back into the house after clearing his mind. However, he did not go into his room, but Monalisa's.
