The cold floor and the endless pain all over his body forced Richard to wake up. He had already regained his consciousness a few minutes after he was violently dumped on the floor, but he was looking for a way to escape the clutches of this demon. Listening to the cold yet calm voice of the 4th prince, he knew that he could not pretend to be asleep anymore.

" Right, I can't believe the ambush has failed. I am a captive now....a captive. What a joke" He could feel a sharp pain all over his body.

He quickly rolled his body over too look at the person that previously talked to him. At this moment, both of his hands were tied up behind his back like a prisoner.

As he moved his body over, he could see the person that had captured him. the young man looked exceptionally calm without the slightest hint of joy in his expression, which only made him more fearful.

" You finally decided to stop pretending to be unconscious."

" you-you are dead meat! dead meat!" Richard shivered as he exclaimed in a strange voice. the sounds produced were distorted by the cold air out of his mouth. he had just remembered how this young man had killed five of his guards by just releasing a burst of lightning bolts from his body as he got close to them. This young man in front of him had enough power to deal with a hundred of a person like him who was only a mere 3rd rank warrior.

Aside from that, his eyes weren't shining anymore like they did. Next to him was a ravishing young lady. Richard had seen many beautiful women in the capital but he had never seen a beauty like that, they were all pale in comparison.

" Oh, is that so? and you are going to do that." Shad's expression was full of ridicule. ": Or perhaps of the 3rd prince of the Nicholas Empire."

" You knew," Richard exclaimed in surprised, which confirmed Shad's suspicion.

" Since you know, you should understand that you can't win.." Richard cackled, " Even if your talent as a mage was startling, you are nothing in the eyes of the 3rd prince of the Nicholas Empire despite being an early 4th rank mage and the 4th prince of the Djage Empire. The Mulan Kingdom will be his and there's nothing you can do about it." It was obvious that his captured at Shad's hands was still fresh in his mind

All that talk about him being an early 4th rank mage? Shad Happily watched Richard guess wrong and did not have any plans to correct him. After all, the fact that he was hiding his true strength and possessed a speed that could give a 5th rank warrior a fright was more believable than him being able to use lightning at a whim without the need of any magic spell, and he was less likely to be exposed because of it.

" Alright, I don't have much time to chat with you. Now, I need to know how many men there are under the 3rd prince of the Nicholas Empire, The noble families in the Mulan Kingdom under his rule as well as which one of the princes of the Mulan kingdom sided with him." Shad's expression turned cold, his eyes were flickering.

Before coming here, Shad had done his own research about the Mulan kingdom. Aside from that, His father had informed him about the delicate situation of the Mulan kingdom as well. The Djage Empire has many affiliated kingdoms under it, and they can't just put all their forces into the Mulan Kingdom just because it was in a state of Chaos, which was why they sent him over there as an envoy and also a prince from the empire to calm things down.

According to his research as well as the information provided by the Imperial family, the situation of the Mulan Kingdom was extremely delicate and horrible. The king's health was pretty bad and his situation was getting worse, some believe that he won't make it and only have maybe a year left to live. As such every single one of the princes was eyeing for the throne now that they are all grown up. There are two of them who are holding and developing forces already in both government and the military. The crown prince is at the risk of losing his crown and was trying to win the support of some of the powerful noble families in the Kingdom.

Furthermore, because he was the crown prince, he had automatically received the support of the empire not to mention that he seemed to be very submissive to the rule of the empire. As for the other princes, they looked for support everywhere they could even if it means siding with the Djage Empire's rival, the Nicholas empire.

Who wouldn't want to be a king or emperor? the glory, splendor, wealth and rank in the Egul continent are wonderful things that few would dare to resist or pass out.

"Hahaha, I'll say nothing. Aren't you just going to torture me? Bring it on." Richard, however, began to sound like a scoundrel. Mercenaries, Hunters, and assassin went through some training and possessed great endurance against torture, yet this man in front of him who was neither of those seemed to be unafraid of torture.

" Seems like you are very confident in your endurance." Shad glanced at Richard, his eyes holding within them a sense of pity.

" To tell you the truth, I am not a big fan of torture. I find it very barbaric and unsophisticated."

" As for you, I have something else in mind, something that would make you soon know how much happiness there is in death." Shad had this devilish smile on his face that made him look like a demon instead of a young man.

" You see, as soon as I know that I possess the power of lightning, you know what I did?. I have spent a lot of my free time researching about the brain when I had some free time. The brain is truly an extraordinary thing."

" Did you know that the brain controlled the human body as a whole. It sends a command to the rest of the human body by using electric charges sent from the neurons which are a cell in the brain. It sends the signals through the body using charges of electricity sent down to the spinal cord. Depending on where the signals were sent into the body, the command means different things."

" You see, the neurons brain cell transmitted that information to the rest of the body. When that information was sent, it made your body react differently.

" Now imagine there was a person out there that was able to manipulate the information sent by your brains to the rest of your body, and that person was in front of you, were you going to wait for that person to torture you for information or would you tell him everything he needed to know willingly."

Shad looked very calm as he was describing everything to Richard. He was as though he was an expert when it comes to it. When Shad was on earth, he used to read all kind books he found on the dumpsters. Even though he was homeless, he always enjoyed reading, especially travel magazines as he had no money to travel the world. One day, he had accidentally stumbled upon a book that gave details about the brain and how electricity could be found throughout the human body.

After being reborn in this new world, he had spent a great deal of his free time trying to manipulate the human body through the brain by using his lightning energy which was basically like electricity. He mostly experiments on animal and some unlucky bandits. So far, he had only one successful experiment where he made someone's stabbed his own leg by using electric commands.

Listening to Shad's explanation, the man's face turned deathly pale. If what he said was true, he could even control him and make him do things against his will, things that he will never be able to forgive himself of doing.

" You see, I don't care about any information anymore. I can find out about everything by myself but I will use you to send a message. A message about what would happen when someone tried to kill me or mess with the people I care about."

With that, Shad put his hand on Richard's head as he infused some of the strands of lightning within his brain. His eyes were purely white as he invoked the Hawkeye which facilitated him to see Richard's brain as though he was using X-ray vision. Richard was struggling and trying to break free but unable too. It did not take longer than three minutes and he was done.

As soon as he was he was done, he released Richard and even gave him a horse and let him go ahead of them. his eyes were completely void, void of any emotion yet tears were running down his face for no reason. From his speed, he will arrive in the Mulan Kingdom before Shad. No one knew what electric commands Shad gave Richard aside from Monalisa.
