Within the hall, all the guests felt a little sorry for Shad. Sometimes being too confident could be someone own demise.

A mage facing a warrior one on one would always be at a disadvantage because of the Warriors' speed and raw power. Unless one prepared a defensive spell in advance to stop the first attack which in turn gave them enough time to release an offensive spell, it would be pretty hard to fend off a powerful warrior.

If one were a high-level mage, then that would be a different story. However, Shad could only be considered as a peak junior mage at most, yet he dared to face the attack of a 4th rank warrior without even preparing a defensive spell in advance or offensive. Not only that, he did not even bother to chant any magic spell at all. He just stood there like a statue, how confident can he be?

Under Nickolson's powerful and dreadful sword attack, nobody could clearly see Shad who was about to be buried under that sword attack, and they simply guessed he would lose for sure. As for him dying, it was completely impossible as those people from the imperial family always have some life-saving magic treasure, especially a prince.

Suddenly,

The audience suddenly heard a pinging sound and they saw a blue mana shield that encompassed shad's body like a cocoon or a balloon.

Shad was still standing there without moving an inch. He was not hurt in the slightest and his whole body was protected by the mana shield.

"Hmm?"

"What happened?"

" It can't be true?"

Seeing how Shad was unharmed, they couldn't help but rub their eyes, surprised by Shad that was still standing there like a mountain.

Any mage could create a mana shield, but it required a lot of focus, strong spiritual force to keep it on and a large amount of concentrated mana to make it hard and durable. Not any mage would dare to use a mana shield as a shield in an actual fight because any mistakes could lead to their doom, not only that, it was just a waste of mana. An actual defensive magic spell cost less mana or magic power than that.

They couldn't help but have a look on surprised on their faces due to the boldness of the 4th prince. If he was a second late, that sword attack would have slashed him in half. Still, some of them still think that it was a waste of mana.

The 3rd prince of the Nicholas Empire raised his head from his glass of wine and looked at Shad in astonishment. He frowned and mumbled. "Weird."

Even though he thought this attack was not enough to defeat the 4th prince, he did not think he was going to counter like that. He came here to get some data from the 4th prince's strength and magic spells, yet he hadn't collected anything yet.

As for Nickolson, his expression changed, but he still kept his clam and just grunted once.

" That was a nice attack." Under the gaze fo the audience, Shad broadened his mouth, as he laughed and smirked." If you want to defeat me, you will have to put more effort into it."

With his mana shield flickered with some slight electric sparks, his eyes glittered a little because he had just found out that his mana had gotten stronger and purer from the last time.

Clearing his throat, Shad actually sat down crossed leg on the floor. To make matter worst, he even took out a bottle of wine from his magic pouch and start drinking within the mana shield.

The guests or the audience exchanged confused glances, including the emperor. They weren't really sure what to say of the 4th prince's actions. They have seen people fight in a relaxed manner or show off because of their overwhelming powerful strength over their opponents, but they had never seen anyone who sat down to drink wine in the middle of a serious fight.

Not mention them, the 3rd prince was extremely enraged that his body started to tremble frantically. His fair face had turned somewhat blue and his eyes rolled backward. He had brought the youngest most elite warriors and mages from his empire, yet they were being treated like this in front of a bunch of high ranks noble. How could he stay calm?

Seeing Shad's action, Nickolson's face first flushed, then went pale. His expression was one of rage and murder. He has never been embarrassed to that extent in his life. He was a well-known swordsman in his generation in the Nickolas Empire, not only that, he was from a high-ranking noble family. He had always been treated with respect wherever he went.

But now,....but now,.... but now,.....

" You, You, You, You..." Nickolson was a talented elite from his generation. How could he take it? being humiliated in such manner in front of all those high-ranking nobles and high-level officials?

With his face full of anger and hatred, Nickolson dashed over towards Shad and began to slash his sword onto the mana shield like crazy.

~bang~~bang~~bang~~bang~~bang~~bang~

Nickolson dropped a rain of sword attacks onto the mana shield non-stop, and pinging sound rang out as his sword attacks hit the mana shield, but each time, his attack did not even leave a scratch onto the shield.

" Still too weak, my big sister's a mage, yet her sword attack is stronger than yours."

Under Nickolson attacks, Shad was unmovable like a mountain while seeping his cup of wine, and ridiculing him with some harsh words over and over.

'The 4th prince was too wicked!' thought the audience.

Nickolson's battle qi was being depleted with each attack and his face was getting paler by the minutes.

He had been fighting duels for years, but this was the first time he had encountered an opponent with such an unbreakable defense. Not only that, his opponent hid behind his shield like a turtle without even bother to make a single attack.

Staring at Shad with bloodshot eyes, he furiously howled " If you are a real man, why don't you come out and fight me like a real man?"

Listening to his barking, Shad's lips curled into a sneer, and his eyes coldly locked on the 3rd prince instead of the crazy Nickolson.

'Even if I can't kill you and your goons right now, I will humiliate you and anger you to death.' he thought.

The 3rd prince caught a glimpse of Shad's sneer, and his expression was cold and a freezing energy swirled around his body.

" Hey, I am a real man ok, and if you don't believe me ask your mother, she can vouch for me." He said without any reservation at all behind his mana shield.

Strange expressions appeared on the faces of everyone within the hall as they looked at Shad, not sure whether to laugh or to cry. Was that the bearing or the language of a high rank noble, and a prince at that?

As for Nickolson, he was so angry that blue veins popped out his forehead as he clenched his jaw.

Finally, he bit his finger and spit out two drops of blood within the white jade that was embedded in the handle of his sword. When it landed on the white jade, it released an icy energy and the surrounding temperature suddenly drop.

The white jade released white threads of mist which coiled around the sword until the sword transformed into 2.5 meters long ice sword.

This sudden change caused an immediately loud discussion to break out in the hall.

" Ice magic sword."

"For him to activate his enchanted weapon, shows that he really has been driven to madness by the 4th prince."

Enchanted weapons were very rare and expensive, a warrior always uses them as a last resort or into a life and death situation. There are many types of enchanted weapons or jewels, also known as artifacts. they come in different shape such necklaces that could protect the owner's body from fire spell or other spells by covering his/her body with a magic aura. They are known as fire-resistance neckalce or Ice-resistance necklace, they are usually used by warriors, and sometimes mages.

The long ice sword emitted a cold frosty aura which spread out around the mana shield as Nickolson slashed it towards Shad with all his might.

A booming sound rang out as the long ice sword pierced a full two inches into the shield. Rumbling sound could be heard as it tried to pierce further, but failed.

In fact, after swinging his swords onto the mana shield like a crazy maniac over and over, cracks began to spread out over the sword.

However, with this last attack, a pop sound could be heard as the entire long ice sword...shattered into pieces, which slowly floated down the ground as the white jade remained intact and fell down as well.

Nickolson's eyes went wide and blood was oozing out his mouth. His battle qi was vastly depleted, his magic sword destroyed and furiously passed out.

" That was the most boring fight I've ever fought, I almost fell asleep. Your Highness, Please send someone that can actually make me cast a single magic spell." Shad said while covering his mouth as he was yawning out of boredom. He slowly got up from the ground as the mana shield around him faded away.
