《Purple Lightning Emperor》Chapter 23

Deep within the Dark forest, the moist air was warm and carried with it the sound of water running in the distance. the ancient trees were so big that they could block the sun from spreading its sunlight within the forest like a big umbrella.
it was really peaceful. However, that peacefulness did not last as it was broken the roars of fleeing beasts.
"what's going on? why would so many low-level magical beasts running away from the deepest part of the Dark forest?"
Some of the students that were taking the monster hunt exam asked themselves.
It was late in the afternoon and the monster hunt exam was almost over. most of them already met the quota to pass the exam. however, some of them took the rest of the time to hone their swordsmanship's skills or their magic spells.
Everything was going fine until half an hour ago. the outer area of the dark forest that was so peaceful and only has a few low-level magic beast was now was inflated with so many low-level magical beasts and even two or three mid-level ones. some of the students fled the area and returned to the airship while the others that have not yet met the quota chose to stay.
However, as things were getting out of control, the rest of the students chose to leave the area and ran towards the opposite direction where the airship was. Even though they really want to pass the monster hunt exam, they wouldn't risk their life for it as they can always try again next year.
.......................................................................
Somewhere within the deepest part of the Dark Forest, Shad was standing in front a huge beast with a small knife in his hand.
His complexion was very pale as though he went through a life and death battle. his clean close was ragged and his shirt torn apart. A huge scar can be seen on his stomach. it was very fresh as blood was oozing out from it. the scar seems to be caused by a huge claw of a beast.
A few meters away from him was a beautiful young lady. her complexion was no better than Shad. her clothes were ragged as well, exposing her mesmerizing skin. In her hands was a huge black longbow. this young lady was none other than Nina of course.

In front of them was a seven-meter tall giant bear. the tall giant bear was badly injured. more than ten arrows can be seen planted on his body like pike. his body was covered with blood, and the scent of his blood was overwhelming as it was wafted with the wind. furthermore, some of part of his body was burnt, making it looked like bald ass giant bear.
Despite being badly injured, the tall giant bear was showing an extremely vicious face instead of fear which would make any normal warrior or mage not able to look straight at it. his shining claws were like a sharp knife capable of piercing through the hardest metal.
" Nina can you still fight," Ask Shad as she was looking at the pale face of Nina.
Even though Nina tried to kill him before, now she is his servant and he did not want her to die. she was really talented and can be of great use to him in the future.
" Yes master," answered Nina with a low voice. from the look of it she was almost at her limit as well.
Right now they were facing a peak 6th class magical beast. After Shad left the outer area of the Dark forest with Nina, he went on cleaning almost the whole area, killing every single 3rd class and 4th class magical beast on their way.
With Nina whom was an Archer and also a very good one, they had killed more than twenty 3rd class magical beasts, ten 4th class magical beast, and three 5th class magical beasts.
Unfortunately for them as they were going back, they met the boss the area, a peak 6th class magical beast which was on the verge of breaking through the 7th rank, so one can imagine how powerful is that beast .
A low-level magical beast relies on instinct to fight while the high-level magic beast is completely different, possessing a certain amount intelligence. they know how to take over a territory for itself, turning it into his base for cultivation, which caused their growth to vastly surpass those of ordinary magical beast.
the seven-meter tall giant bear that Shad and Nina were facing was one of them. Even though it hasn't broken through the 7th class which would make it a high-level beast, it still possesses a certain amount of sentience.

" Nina, the giant bear is also at its limit as well. I know that you are out of those custom made a magic arrow, Nonetheless, we can still kill that beast. I just want you to distract it for awhile." said Shad with a resolute face.
" Ok,"
With that, Nina Started to shoot the arrows at the beast. the beast's defense was though, to make matter worse, the bear can manipulate the earth element. his innate spell was the Earth armor. it was able to shroud his body with an armor made of rock and other hard minerals. luckily, there was a time limit for it, otherwise, there was no way Nina was going to pierce his body. Aside from that, his body was naturally tough.
While Nina was keeping the beast busy by shooting multiple arrows at it, the giant bear sprung up like a bullet from his initial position and pounce towards Nina. despite being so big, it was as fast as lightning. Nina, on the other hand, was constantly retreating, keeping her distance from the beast.
As time passed, the injuries of the beast became heavier and heavier. his entire body was bathed in blood. Despite that, it had no intention of stopping.
Seeing how the beast was enraged into a berserk mode, Shad couldn't wait any longer.
Because he had used the Dragon lightning claw to fight against Nina earlier, half of his energy was consumed and he was still unable to replenish to its peak state.
~Chi~Chi~Chi~
Soon, there was a screeching sound and Shad's entire body suddenly blazed with serpentine electric sparks.
All the vein in his body became visible even the one in his face, and lightning can be seen running through them. Aside from that, his dark eyes became purely white like a light bulb.
the massive lightning energy was gathering and concentrated in his right hands into a white halo. Shad had decided to stake everything in this single attack by activating a strength beyond its limit.
While the tall giant bear was busy fighting with Nina.
A buzzing hissing echoed right at this moment as Shad disappear from his previous location. his body was like a streak of white light as he pounced towards the giant bear with every ounce of his strength.
At the same moment, an imposing punch created As lightning descend grumblingly like a heavenly punishment, directly at the back of the giant bear.
~~Crack! Crack!~
sounds of breaking bones echoed from the giant bear's body as Shad's fist ran through it. his body exploded. its bones jutted out from the mess of his bloody flesh while his face was covered with blood. it was dying under this stealthy attack.
The massive lightning punch was condensed by countless lightning electric sparks which made it very strong. however, this was not enough to kill the tall giant bear. As Shad's fist ran through the giant bear, he had released every single lightning within his mana pool and around his body which fried the tall giant bear from the inside and caused his body to explode.
This was a risky attack that Shad did not want to use because once it was used, shad would be in his weakest state as it would deplete all his energy. Aside from that, his body would become weak and numb due to the burden of channeling all the lightning energy within his body not to mention the unbearable pain.
After killing the tall giant bear, Shad fell down on the ground while his vitality was running out. his body was aching all over as though every single organ in his body had been torn apart. he just laid down on the ground like a lamb waiting to be a slaughter.
As he laid down on the ground, Nina was walking towards him step by step. her flawless sow-white soft skin was exposed and the blood stain merged with her clothes. Although she had been hurt continually by the tall giant bear, she was much better to compare Shad who was laying down on the ground like a corpse. the look on her face was dark and cold as usual as She was approaching Shad.

Mage Among Superheroes
Turlough is a mage. He also happens to be an orc, generally lauded as being less intelligent than humans. He was unfortunately born with the Curse of the Barbarian, meaning that he can’t level up except through combat- which greatly hinders his ability to show he can be a proper mage. In a world with necromancers, dragons, invading armies, and all sorts of other monsters he would still be able to advance quickly, but unfortuantely… that world is not his world. An unprecedented peace reigns across the land, and in the last several decades there’s been little use for people capable of fighting- and thus little reason for people to fight him. So when he sees a portal in his master’s study he takes it, hoping to find a horde of demons or something equally foolish to combat at low level. But instead he ends up in a strange city full of skyscrapers and people running around in colorful outfits. Superheroes- and of course supervillains as well. What dangers and opportunities could await him in such a strange and unfamiliar world? Only time will tell. Inspired by many things in the superhero genre, and Super Minion specifically- though while the setting will share some standard elements, it is an original setting that will hopefully be as engaging as many of the other universes. Schedule: One chapter each Monday/Thursday, approx. 2000 words.

The Limits of Limitless
Author's Note: So, new author here, nice to meet you from this lovely one sided conversation lol. I was so tired of waiting for the perfect story for me so I decided to write a few of my own. These are basically just to make me happy, but if you enjoy them too that would make me happy as well lol. ______________________________________________________________________________________ So once upon a time, there was a convienent, and slightly cliche, plot device used by a somewhat lazy author.... Which in turn, created an easily made story of how a lucky high schooler posing as a hardcore gamer dies only to resurrect in a fantasy reality, meeting beautiful women, powerful dragons and ancient beings, an assortment of insanely escentric fellows, and a certain over powered ring. Journey with them as they explore the wilderness of twisted imagination. Or for you old timey folk who like their synopsis a bit tame, here you go: Jason, a senor in highschool, is slowly failing school due to not giving a fuck. Like many people now in the year 3056, he is obsessed with the wonderful invention most lovingly called, 'True Virtual Realities'. now by using his obsession with his favorite Virtual Reality game called 'Reality Controlled', which is the first and so called best Virtual Reality ever made. it was basically the all around escape humanity wished for, and he with heaven defying luck came across one of the three cheat items the game developers left for themselves: The Limitless Ring. The ring was a support type item and had the ability to grant wishes, store worlds, clone items, grant skills and easily learn abilities. But those are just a few of the things it could do. Using the ring he successfully became the "best player" and had a herd of fans following him everywhere. It was a dream come true. Until, he was killed from a power surge that fried his brain which was hooked up to the Nerve Capsule, an unsafe prototype of the Dive gear that he bought do to low funds. The end. Or so you would think.... ______________________________________________________________________________________ Author's Note: I was, to be honest, wanting to do a collab, because to me it is sooooooo incredibly boring to write by yourself since you always know what happens next, however no one enjoys a bit of friendly cooperation *sigh* so I'm forced to journey these roads alone.... 'Tis but a sad fate tha' 'is here young'un has t' bear. The cover isn't mine, all rights and stuff goes to its artist and such.
