《Purple Lightning Emperor》Chapter 21

While Shad laid on the grassy ground, he alertly looked behind him where the arrow came from. Unfortunately, he couldn't find the perpetrator. the tall grass blocked his vision and he also did not dare to lift his head as he afraid of it being nailed to the ground by an arrow.
As he was flattened onto the ground, he felt as though the area around him became so quiet. So terrifyingly quiet.
he couldn't hear anything at all.
Because he could not hear and see anything with the naked eyes, Shad released his spiritual force to scan the area around him. Earlier, he was so concentrated fighting the One-horned wolf that he did not release his spiritual force to scan the area which is why that person was able to sneak attack him.
Shad's spiritual force was so strong that everything within the five hundred meter radius came into his view.
The towering trees, grasses, and brambles, as well as magical beasts, all appeared within Shad's sight with incredible clarity, and under his spiritual force, these objects and creatures did not do anything out of ordinary either.
As he continued to scan the area around him, Shad discovered a person on top of the huge towering tree looking down at his direction with a longbow on his hand.
" Shit." he murmured to himself.
From the trajectory of the first arrow, shad had concluded that the person trying to kill him was on the ground, maybe behind one of those damn bushes. However, as soon as Shad dodged the first arrow by flattened himself on the ground, the person must have climbed the tree to have a better view at him as the tall grass had blocked his vision as well, which made things more difficult for Shad.
The person on top of the tree was dressed completely in black, with only his eyes exposed as he wore a mask. this was the simple attire of Chronos Assassin while on a mission. there had never been a person who had seen the face of someone from Chronos and no one knew the origins or hideout of the Chronos either.
" Those damn assassins are truly persistent," whispered Shad. after he saw the attire of the person on top of the tree, Shad had already figured out what organization he was working for as he was one of them.
While Shad was trying to figure a way to get out of this situation, the assassin took out something from his magic pouch or dimensional pocket, and instantly a faint tidal wave of fire burst forth it. Within the Assassin's palm, there was a fiery arrow.
Feeling the fiery power emitted by that arrow, Shad's face darkened a little. All true powerful Archers had custom-made arrows, and the price of each was prodigious.

" Damn."
With the appearance of the flaming arrow came a powerful might. Shad's found himself in a tight situation. if he channeled the lightning within his body to boost his speed, he still might not make it in time where the assassin was, plus he would be exposing himself as well which will make it easier for the assassin.
Not only that, based on that fellow's prowess, if he gets within sixty to fifty meters from him, even if he was able to dodge, he will still suffer a severe injury.
He was thinking about using the mana shield while making his escape. however, just by looking at that arrow, Shad knew that his mana shield would not hold off. Shad's mana shield could stop the attack of a 4th class peak mage or warrior if he tries to use it to stop the attack of 5th class warrior or mage and above, it will break as though it was a glass.
Furthermore, he did not want to attract the assassin in the outskirt of the dark forest where the students were taking the monster hunt exam. additionally, he also did want the run deeper into the dark forest due to the High-level monsters dwelling within. his only option was to deal with the assassin one way or another.
Shad might be invincible when it comes to the expert of the 4th class but against 5th class and above powerhouse, he had to be very careful or he might lose his life. Also, From the aura emitting from that person and the power of his arrow, Shad knew that he must have at least reached the 5th class.
~Fwoosh~
While Shad was contemplating about his next move, The assassin had already shot the fiery arrow towards Shad's direction.
The fiery arrow instantly transformed into a streak of flaming red light and shot towards Shad at incredible speed. The fiery arrow was like a meteor as it was descending upon Shad with a supersonic speed. the formless and calm air and space around the fiery arrow seemed to ripple as it was making its way towards Shad.
Right, when the assassin thought that Shad would be hit by the fiery arrow which was one of his trump cards, he suddenly saw a crackling of lightning around the area where the target had laid down.
Like a serpentine dragon leaving its lair, Shad Shad leaped out from the grass, dodging the incoming arrow at a high speed.
~ Bang~
In less than half of second, with a huge bang sound, the fiery arrow hit the place where Shad was previously and explode, leaving behind a deep crater. Specks of dust and green grasses scattered everywhere.
Seeing the huge hole left behind by the fiery arrow, Drops of cold sweat instantly soaked Shad's clothes.

' I have to get close to this damn assassin, at least forty meters so I can attack him otherwise he truly will nail me to the ground with this damn arrows of his.' thought Shad before he channeled the lightning power within every fiber of his body, which gave him some sort of speed force power that triple his speed.
While Shad was an awe about the destructive power of the fiery arrow, the assassin was also stunned by the heaven-defying speed that Shad possesses which allowed him to dodge his supersonic fiery arrow.
" I actually couldn't see his movement clearly .....not at all." whispered the assassin as his forehead tightening underneath the mask. that scene gave him too much shock.
In the meantime, Shad was already fifty meters away from the tree where the assassin was.
As soon as he saw that, he quickly regained his bearing as he was about to take the third arrow from his magic pouch.
" Lightning Dragon Claws," yelled Shad as he was running towards the tree where the assassin was located at an astonishing speed.
~Bzzt~Bzzt~Bzzt~
He immediately struck out with his right hand. serpent-shaped streaks of lightning began to ooze out from his palm, each of them wrapped around each other, intertwining like lambs of lover and beginning to join together.
At the same time, Shad's hand transformed into a huge giant dragon claw made of lightning. the Giant hand was at least twenty-five meters long. Not only that, the giant hand also carried a terrifying aura of utterly crushing annihilation that made it difficult for an enemy to dodge.
This attack was Shad's strongest attack so far, aside from the 4th and 5th class magic spell that his great-grandfather had given to him which he hasn't mastered yet.
" How can he be this fast?!, and what in the world is that?" the assassin couldn't even dodge in time. all he could was stare wide-eyed as the giant lightning claw came smashing up towards him for the first time.
" Damn." he hurriedly shrouded his body with all his battle-qi forming a thick blue armor. the assassin did not have time to comprehend or question how Shad was able to create such a powerful attack without the used of any spell, nor did he care, he was only thinking about surviving that attack and think later.
~Bang~
the giant lightning claw smashed the top of the huge tree with the assassin between the branches.
the top of the giant tree tuned into smithereens leaving behind its bottom intact.
As for the assassin, he was falling from the tree completely intact also.
Seeing this, Shad used the last bit of lightning within his mana pool and created another lightning dragon claw and grabbed the assassin in mid-air and tried to crush his battle-qi.
Due to the fact that Shad had used the lightning within his mana pool to create this attack, he was only able to use this attack twice a day as it required a huge amount of lightning to intertwine together to form the giant hand. after using it twice, he won't have enough lightning inside his mana pool to create a third one and will have to wait a full day before he completely replenish the lightning inside his mana pool.
As the assassin was free falling, it was impossible to dodge the incoming giant lightning hand. However, despite grabbing the assassin in mid-air with his giant lightning dragon claw, Shad was still unable to break his battle-qi armor.
Seeing this, Shad knew that his opponent was at least a mid-rank 5th class warrior.
~bang~
Unable to destroy the battle-qi armor by his giant lightning dragon claw, Shad smashed the assassin onto the ground with all his might. as he was already fallen, the impact of the fall double.
As he fell, the battle-qi armor was smashed into multiple pieces like a broken glass. the assassin vomited a mouthful of blood before rolling on the ground with a painful sound.
Shad knew the assassin was at least a level higher than him which is why he was unable to break his battle-qi armor. that was the difference between class.
Even if the other party just stood there like a sitting duck, his lightning probably wouldn't be capable of even breaking through his battle-qi armor. after one's strength had reached a certain level, one's body would naturally form a layer of protection and the battle qi would improve and grow more durable in succession with the promotion of strength.
As such this kind of gap in strength was honestly too wide. Luckily, this one was an archer and did not put too much emphasis on strengthening his body like the other warriors. Nonetheless, he was still hard to deal with.
all of this action might seem to take a while, but in truth, it all happens in a blink of an eye.
While the assassin was rolling onto the ground and trying to make his escape, Shad quickly got closer to him with a small knife preparing to deliver the killing blow.
" You are a girl." yelled shad in surprise as he got in front the assassin who had her mask on the floor
