Outside the gate of the Kalin magic academy, Shad sat on a cool metal bench as he was staring at the morning sky. Mellow blues and pinks blurred together to create another gorgeous scene.

Even when the world was engulfed in wars left and right, hardships, people dying of hunger or people killing each other for their own benefit, the sky still remained beautiful, free, vivid and untainted by the griefs or wars.

watching the beautiful morning sky, Shad wished that he could be same as the sky, vivid, aloof and powerful, unaffected by the worldliness, but unfortunately, he could not as he was bound by many things that he could not and would not let go of such as family, etc.

Today was the day of the Monster Hunt exam, aside from shad, there were many students outside the academy's gate waiting for the examiner as well.

Unlike the peaceful and quiet Shad, the other students gathered outside were having a blast chatting and forming their own little party for the monster hunt exam.

Just when they were having a blast chatting, a loud wind blowing noise disrupted them.

The wind came overhead, it was so strong that some of the students grab onto another person to avoid being blown over, the lighter ones.

the wind might have been harmless for the guys, but it was detrimental for the girls as it was strong enough to rustle their clothes.

Unlike the magic battle exam, there were many warriors participating in the monster hunt exam as well. the female warriors were safe since they had one or two light armors and wore pants while the female mages wore done light robes.

the female mages' clothes were all pulled up as well as their skirts, their lower garments were practically dancing in the wind. the females students quickly reacted as the pressed down hard on their skirts to prevent being seen. However, it was already too late.

For the males students, it was like a blessing from the god of wind as they cheered and whistled in delight. especially the ones that had passed the exam already, for them this trip to the Dark Forest had not been in vain.

Even the cold and distant virgin Shad couldn't help but take a quick glance at this beautiful scene in front him before returning to his usual self.

Soon, the so-called ' God of Wind' praised by many of the males students for blessing them with this morning sight appeared before the students. to be more precise, it appeared above their heads in the sky.

it slowly descended from the sky. it was a very large airship with a unique design. Seeing this airship, none of the students panicked or exclaimed in surprise. it was due to the fact that the airship was of the main transport vehicle to travel from one continent to another or one Empire to another for the powerful nobles. they have seen such a thing on a regular basis.

There were still teleportation gates in the Egul continent as there was one in each of the four Great Empires, however, the amount of energy needed to activated one was astronomical. Unless it was an emergency or a powerful mage, none of the nobles would dare to waste their resources by using it.

As the airship descended onto the ground, many students scattered into a corner to make space for it otherwise the will be turned into meat pastes.

Unlike the airships Shad used to see on TV back on earth that looked like balloons, the airship in this world looks more like the ones in the games as the possess wings and a number of rotors.

Once descended, the airship took up about more than 30% of the space outside the academy.

with his arms behind his back, the Vice Dean got out from the airship and stood at the front most of the airship as he looked at the students ahead.

" Everyone, I assume that you are all here to take the monster hunt exam. As I was a little bit late, I won't speak too much so all you come aboard the airship. the monster hunt will last one day, so let's make the most of it." said the Vice Dean as he was looking at the students before his eyes landed on Shad who sat on a metal bench.

all the students presented their students' I.D to the Vice Dean before the boarded the airship, Shad was the last one left. he looked out a little ad though he was looking for someone before he went in.

' it seemed like he gave up on the monster Hunt exam.' thought Shad before he got in.

Inside the airship was very spacious. As an Imperial Prince as well as the one that defeated Clyde, the former top junior mage, Shad had a private room to his own while the other students sat on the regular sections.

As soon as all the students were seating and ready, the airship floated up. it stopped in mid-air before spun around as though it was determined their direction. After a few seconds, it adjusted itself and set sail towards the East.

Even though the airship was not as fast the airplanes back on earth, nonetheless, its speed was no laughing matter.

After more than two hours of travel, the airship finally made it to its destination. as the students looked out the window, what appeared before them was a huge mountain range.

This huge mountain range was known as the Dark forest. it was the Largest mountain range within the Egul continent and was located more than a hundred kilometers East of Kalin magic academy.

The airship slowed down and slowly descended upon a mountaintop in the outskirt of the Dark Forest. As soon as it descended, the students poured out from the airship like flies.

They did not go out in an orderly fashion. As they got out, they formed a small little party with friends and family, except for Shad.

After all the students vacated the airship, the vice got out as well and stood at the front most of the airship as he looked at the students in their little group or party.

" As you are all aware, one of the academy's purpose is for the training of many battle mage that will, later on, be the pillar of the Empire." As the Vice Dean was Saying that, he took out an egg-sized blue transparent Crystal within his magic pouch.

" This is an Agate Crystal, 75% of our society is power by these crystals including this airship. they contain the magical essence of the world known as mana. And the way we get them is by killing magical beasts. "

"Right now, we are in the outskirts of the Dark Forest where the monster hunt exam will take place which is also a place for newbies like you to kill and hunt monsters. But don't wander off to deep within the dark forest as there are real dangers out there. In order to pass this exam, all you have to do is to kill and acquire three Agate Crystals from three 2nd class magical beasts before nightfall."

" If you can acquire the agate crystal of a 3rd class beast, then you officially pass the exam without the need kill any more monsters. you can party up with a mage or a warrior. I don't care about the process, all I care about is the result."

" A word of advice, just like humans, there is a huge gap between a 2nd class beast and a 3rd class beast. so don't' try to bite more than you can chew, not to mention magical beasts are usually stronger than a human of the same rank."

" Also, don't try to do anything stupid because this place is no place to carry out your grudges or acts of revenge against other students. I am watching your every movement."

"Now scram and lets the monster hunt exam begin." said the vice dean as the students ran deep within the forest with their faces filled with excitement.
