《The Floating Dungeon》Chapter 47

The three hydrius salamanders quickly swam into the underground entrance, to the portal, with the squid-like beings right on their tail.

As soon as the salamanders were through the portal, Amy quickly directed them to go through the barrier into the second floor. Even though they were through the barrier and into the second floor, she wanted them to be safe, so she got Aero and his group to go into the third floor just in case the intruders tried to get to them. Since it was currently impossible for intruders to cross into the third floor since she has not decided on a floor boss or a set of tasks to pass into the third floor. So it was the safest place for her hydrius salamanders.

With the salamanders safe, Amy turned back to the invaders. They had just passed through the portal, and there were 30 of them altogether. They were coloured in different tones of red and had these sharp talons on their tentacles. The invaders were not that big, around half a metre in size, but they were vicious.

She watched as the invading group went through her floor, ripping her creatures and the monsters they encountered to shreds. Sure, her monsters were able to kill a couple of the invaders, but there were 30 of them. And they kept on coming.

They kept on tearing through her penguin monsters, then they reached a small group of three adventurers who we unlucky enough to be in her dungeon at that time. Amy thought that they were just going to pass by the team, but one of the invaders seemed to catch their scent in the water or something and raced towards them. Once that one invader did that, the rest followed its lead.

She watched as the invaders attack the adventurers and wrap onto them with their tentacles, ripping into their skin with their talons and what looked to be beaks. The adventurers died very quickly after that, and Amy felt a bit bad for them. Sure they knew the danger, and it was different when it was her monsters or creatures killing adventurers. This was an attack from unknown invaders, not dungeon monsters, which made her feel bad. But she did receive the mana from the adventurer's deaths in the end, and in all, it was not a big deal for Amy.

Eventually, the invaders, which numbered 25, found Fisher. However, right before the invaders found Fisher, she told him to try to kill as many of them as he could before he fell.

As soon as Fisher saw them, he charged. With his increased strength, he managed to kill three of the invaders in his first charge. Then, unfortunately, the invaders charged him simultaneously and ripped him apart.

When Amy saw what they did to her boss monster, she started to worry if her honru sharks could kill them with their current population along with the dart penguin monsters to back them up. So, in preparation for when the invaders eventually got onto the second floor cause they could not leave the dungeon as the portal was right above the waterline, she increased both monsters' population as much as she could before she hit a limit.

Anxiously, she watched the invading group cross over through the barrier into the second floor. Right as they crossed onto the next floor, the honru sharks attacked. The invaders were not expecting this attack. To her surprise, the shark monsters were able to kill 11 of them before the invaders started fighting back. Just as the invaders started killing off her honru sharks, more came to that area with her urging bringing the dart penguins with them.

The invaders were finally killed with the extra backup, but not without a lot of loss from both the creatures and monster sides.

After the last invading creature was killed, Amy absorbed all of the bodies and started healing her wounded monsters. Most of the original honru sharks, except for two, had died, and she was able to quickly heal them, so they survived. As she went about healing all of her monsters, the once almost identical monsters gained their own little characteristics from the battle. From large wounds to portions of fins cut off, most of her surviving honru sharks gained their own physical characteristics as they were the frontline monsters while the dart monsters were the ones that stayed behind the honru.

With all of the surviving monsters healed, it was time for the clean-up. Amy had to make sure the decimated creature populations went back up. She also had to summon the augment, archer, and penumbra penguin monsters to bring them back to their population-level pre-invading creatures. So, she summoned all of those monsters to get them back to her original amount.

On the other hand, the creatures needed to be bred, so she went through all the creatures that were decimated and placed mana strings into them. Amy then pushed the idea of increasing their population into them with a trigger to bring the breeding back to normal when population levels reach what they were before.

Once all that was done, Amy pulled up the invader's descriptions, and boy, did it make her smile.

Lifeblood Cuttlefish

A type of monster that is always found in the congealment of around 10 to 50 members. This monster gains its name through the need and consumption of blood from its prey. The cuttlefish can absorb the blood through its beak and talons.

Rank Level: E

Even though the lifeblood cuttlefish monster was hard to kill, Amy knew that this would be a monster type that was definitely going to be on her third floor. But she was also surprised that Aero and the other two salamanders survived a group of 30 of these monsters. She was so proud of them, but she still wanted them to explore. So Amy sent the salamander group out again but also told them to be more careful out there.

Once everything was back to normal, Amy went back to working on the mini-coral reefs. These mini-coral reefs would be one that goes all the way to the surface, would destroy or prevent any boats from going over the reefs, as well as prevent a sentient from physically going over the top.

Since there were so many small coral reefs that she wanted to create, Amy started building the base of each reef to get the shape of the reef she wanted. The base of these reefs was constructed primarily with block coral, builder coral, pillar coral, and flat trench coral. But as she was doing this, she realized that it would be hard to build thick, tall reefs from this.

So Amy decided that she would make these pillars of ice with arms on them to allow some of the corals to grow in the fashion that she wanted them to.

With the pillars in place and the base set, Amy started placing all of her corals onto these small reefs and getting them to grow large and bulky. It was interesting seeing a column of ice next to pieces of fire coral and heat brain coral, but the result of her doings allowed the reefs to look really nice.

All that was left for the coral to add was the stinging coral to the top portion of the reefs. This was going to be her deterrent for people to physically go over the reefs.

When Amy took a step back to look at these reefs, she was pleased with the result. The reefs were nice and thick, with a bunch of spaces for the creatures and potentially monsters she will place that will live in or around the reefs. Also, the paths that she made sure were there turned out really well. The last reef, which was the largest of the mini-reefs that went from the south sand drop off to the northeast sand drop off, ensured that whoever goes through the coral section would not have direct access to the core reef.

With the basics of the floating mangrove island, the rainfall trees, and the mini coral reefs finished, Amy started to design the other components that go along with these main environments.
