《The Floating Dungeon》Chapter 46

Amy spent time carefully going through everything that was in her new territory area. She collected a lot more than what she was expecting. A lot more than she expected, even before she started looking into the 18 metres of the underground area that was in her territory.

Through her careful collection from the new territory area, Amy had gained a lot of new corals, creatures, and plants. Once she was done collecting things above the sand, she pulled up all of the descriptions.

Stinging Coral

A species of coral that does not like to be touched by anything, except for the fish that it has a symbiotic relationship with. It produces an extreme stinging sensation when touched that could last for days.

Leafy Seaweed

A species of seaweed that looks like an underwater bush or tree foliage.

Stinging Hawkfish

A species of fish with sharp teeth and powerful jaws that can crush the shells of crustaceans. This species gained its name by living, not being affected, and surviving with the infamous coral.

Amware Sea Turtle

A type of small sea turtle that has adapted and shifted to match the Amware trench reef by having coral pieces grow on its back. It is an evolution that is only found within the Amware trench reef.

Amware Reef Shark Egg Sac

A species of small but vicious reef shark that is found only within the Amware trench reef.

Pillar Coral

A species of coral that grows straight upwards in columns and pillars.

Parasitic Cleaner Wrasse

A species of cleaner fish that will latch on to a bigger fish than itself and steal nutrients and food from the fish.

Flat Trench Coral

A flat, disk-like coral has soaked up mana from a trench, evolving it into a trench coral.

Pink Starfish

A species of starfish that will change its colour to blend into a coral reef.

Light Spun Sea Slug

A species of bioluminescent sea slug that looks like strands of light in the dark. It is a rare species that can be used in highly powerful mana recovering potions.

Long-Clawed Lobster

A species of lobster that's body and tail are two and a half centimetres, and its long claws are another two centimetres in length.

Giant Tube Worm

A marine invertebrate species that can survive in the most extreme marine environments. This worm is dangerous due to its habit of collecting gasses and chemicals that it can release in defence of itself.

Amy was quite happy with the new additions, and she knew that they would work really well in what she had in mind for the third floor.

She has not really shaped how the third floor was going to look, like how deep certain areas will be, how the water currents and or air currents will be like, and the main environments with this floor.

Like on the second floor, she had shoals, the one small floating mangrove island, the tiny island forest that essentially made the trees look like they were a large bush, coral reefs, and the kelp forests.

In Amy's mind, the third floor was going to be separate sections with different types of monsters and or creatures. However, she did not really know how many different types of monsters she could have on each floor. So Amy wanted to see if she could make monsters and fantastical creatures to fit the environments that she had in mind.

She also wanted to separate and differentiate the third floor from the first and second floors. So, Amy decided to go back to designing the floor. With the mangrove floating island, all that was left, for the basic stuff at least, was to set the floating boundary. Unlike in floor two, where that floating island could only float in the southwest section, Amy decided to give the island the whole southern section to float.

The reason why she decided to do this was that the third floor was going to have three major environments. The first is the floating mangrove island, the second is a water forest made out of rainfall trees, and the last is going to be mini reefs that would be treacherous to go through and around.

But before she could work on the two major environments, she had to change the water and sand depths.

The whole southern side of the floor will be the deepest point. Without changing anything, she had 100 metres of water with 20 metres of sand to work with.

What Amy wanted to do with the southern side was shorten the height of the sand to 10 metres, increasing the overall depth of the water to 110 metres.

The northwest and northeast sides, in her mind, are going to be drastically different. The northeast section of the floor was going to hold the raindrop forest, and she wanted the overall depth of that side where the forest is, be around 30 metres or so. The northwest section is going to be even more shallow. Amy was planning to create a bunch of mini reefs for that section, that you would have to go around as it would be too dangerous to go above. The space around the mini reefs would be tight, and in her mind, she wanted the water depth to be around one metre to two metres throughout the whole northwest section.

So, Amy started shifting the third floor to match what she wanted. Almost all of the sand available was moved to the north section. Even then, it was not enough, so she had to duplicate the sand a lot more before she was satisfied and locked everything in position.

With the water depth and the depth of the sand all changed, Amy started working on the basics of the rainfall forest. First, she transplanted the original rainfall tree that she grew on the second floor to the third floor and took the seeds from that tree. Then, with the seeds, she started throwing them about the northeast section and letting them sink into the sand before inserting her mana string and growing them to where they could produce even more seeds.

Amy kept on doing this until a third of that section was filled with rainfall trees. All of the trees reached about five metres above the surface, and it looked like an actual forest. The end result of doing this was that all of the trees had a sort of merged canopy due to all of the branches intermingling with each other. It would be cool to see the trees release their water, creating a rainstorm when all of them are together in one area and hopefully release it around the same time.

With the basics of the rainfall forest done, which was just planting those trees, Amy started to work on the small reef areas. Just as she began laying out where the mini reefs would go, Aero and the other two hydrius salamanders entered her territory with the fastest speed that they could. Luckily, it was at that time of night when there were only one or two groups in her dungeon. There was only one group on the first floor this time, so the salamanders should be okay. But the speed that they came at her was worrying.

When she looked in the direction they came from, which was along the edge of the amware trench reef, she saw a group of what looked to be octopus, or squid, or something like that chasing after them.
