Cross POV
It all started 10,000 years ago. I was young back then, only a few centuries old. I had a wife and young child.
But they were killed. Murdered because of some F*cking rules made up by the Council.
I suppose I should introduce myself. I am Cross, a vampire. Although since I am over 10,000 years old, I would be categorized as an Ancient Master Vampire. I know it sounds rather cliche and long winded but that is what they call it.
I was born at around 9,000 B.C. I was a rather curious human male and ended up encountering a strong vampire in the midst of my explorations. He turned me and helped me adjust to my new life.
I married a young human girl and had a child with her. I was a vampire and she was a human, such a thing was considered taboo but I did it anyway.
It was a foolish move, but as I said, back then I was young and trusting. I had never experienced true pain and loss. Normally Vampires are not able to have children, but there are certain dark spells that can enable birth, and I was always adept at dark magic.
The Council, was made up of seven Master Vampires who created the laws and ruled over our people. For some reason they feared and hated half-breeds, and ordered my wife and daughter killed.
They held me still and made me watch as they decapitated my wife and child, before forcing me to the ground while they beat and shredded their corpses beyond recognition. Then one of the Council Members came over to me and said that if I was sorry for my sin they would accept me back and give me a position as one of the Council's subordinates.
He said it was a great honor, all while standing on the corpses of the two people I loved the most.....................I lost it, and awakened my first ability.
When a person beomes a vampire they are able to unlock an ability. It is random and no one can predict what their ability will be. Some people get control of an element, or the ability to teleport or stuff like that. But I got a different ability. I named it the Devourer because that was what it was.
Anytime I drank someone to death, by sucking out all of their blood, I gained their knowledge and abilities. It was a very useful ability, and it enabled me to gain power fast. Most vampires continue to gain abilities as they age, but since my ability was unique and enabled me to absorb abilities, I did not.
The first Council member died quickly as I sucked him dry, I was filled with rage and bloodlust, and reveled in my newfound power. After that everything was a haze and when I finally regained my senses, the entire Council was dead, along with all of their underlings. I was much, much more powerful than before, but the cost was too great. The only people I had loved were dead.
I changed that day. I no longer had any real morals. Nor did I trust anyone, or care about the consequenses of my actions. I simply didn't care about anyone but myself, because I was the only one who should exist. No one else mattered. Not even my lineage, those few vampires that I had personally turned. Even they were now no longer of any consequence.

I swore one thing. That no one would ever take what was mine from me again, and to accomplish that I had to grow stronger.
I left soon after I had buried my wife and child. I knew that no one in the world would accept a vampire who had murdered his rulers, so I left. I created a portal to Hell and walked through it. Not many people would even consider going to Hell, but at that point in time, I had a deathwish.
There is a reason people do not just go to Hell, and that is because Demons are crazy strong. A Lower demon is the equivalent of a Master Vampire, while a Higher Demon is equivalent to an Ancient Vampire. This is mostly because not only are they immortal, but also because Hell provides a much harsher enviroment to survive in, than Earth.
Each of the Seven Levels of Hell is twice as harsh as the level before it, making the Seventh Level of Hell, a place where only the strongest Demons can live. And there are very few who can live there permanently, it is mostly filled with enormous Demonic Beasts who destroy everything in their path.
I could tell you how I attached myself to a young Demon Prince and helped him raise his empire. Or I could tell you my lengthy adventures throughout all of the Seven Hells, but that would take to long, so I'l give you a summary.
I became like a brother to a young Demon Prince, named Markal, that I encountered soon after I entered Hell and went to war with him. I did not do this out of feelings of loyalty or trust, but because I needed to grow stronger. I wanted to become the strongest person in existence so that no one could ever take anything from me again.
Anyway. I stayed in Hell for 10,000 years. That is how long it took me to be able to visit the Seventh Level of Hell, since it is so harsh that gigantic demon beasts are the main inhabitants. It the harshest place in Hell and only the strongest Demon Kings and demons can visit it.
Ironically I found two mistresses\wives in Hell. I lost a wife and child on earth, and found consolation in the arms of demons. Kind of ironic isn't it? You are supposed to find comfort in the arms of angels, and you are supposed to hate and fear demons since they will try and destroy you.
However; it didn't matter to me. Everything I cared about had been destroyed by people claiming to be on the side of justice. I don't give a f*ck about Good or Evil now. There are only those who support me and those who try and kill me.
My two mistresses\wives were Lilith and Sharil. Lilith was a Succubus, while Sharil was a Soul Shredder. I wasn't sure if we were technically married or not, since Demons have fluctuating ideas of marriage, their traditions are always changing, but I really didn't care. All that mattered was that I was with them and they were with me.
Lilith was a stunning beauty, with danger hidden beneath her seductive charm. She lived to seduce and murder men, drawing enjoyment from their joy and pain as they died.
{Lilith Looks Like This: http://art.alphacoders.com/arts/view/52055/Dream-Thief-Art
Sharil was full of anger and destruction, making no attempt to hide her power. As a Soul Shredder she possessed two forms. Her giant form, and her much smaller form. Her giant form gave her almost unlimited strength and stamina, while her humanoid form gave her the ability to see into one's soul. This allowed her to use their weaknesses to tear them apart, and break their minds, hence her race's name Soul Shredder. She was not someone to be f*cked with.

I found Lilith first on the Fourth Level, making her a Higher Demon, although she had advanced substantially since then. While I ran into Sharil on the Seventh Level, making her a Demonic Emperor, which was the equivalent of an Ancient Master Vampire, like me. She never told me how she came to live in the Seventh Level, but that was her buisness and I didn't want to pry.
Although I do not know if I can be called a vampire, after devouring so many demons and taking their abilities. I am most likely some sort of Demonic Vampire now.
Anyway. Sharil and Lilith both live with me, either in our cavern in the Seventh Level or one of my numerous castles on the Sixth Level. Lilith is now a Sixth Level Demon, making her a Demon King. She is definitely weaker than Sharil, as she is only able to live in the Seventh Level for small amounts of time. Sharil and I can live in the Seventh Level with no ill effects, but Lilith can only live there for a couple of weeks at a time, before her body starts breaking down under the tremendous pressure.
Markal was a Demon Emperor now and ruled over the Sixth Level of Hell. We had become very close over the last 10,000 years, and I considered him a part of my family, and the brother I never had.
I trusted him with my life and he trusted me with his. I had sworn never to trust anyone again, but I had made an exception for him. We had risen together from the low ranks of the First Level, to the top of the Sixth.
The Seventh Level was ruled by the Devil, so there was no chance of us advancing any further. Markal was now the second most infuential Demon in Hell, as he ruled the Sixth Level and commanded countless legions of Demons. Only the Devil was more important or influential than him.
I was Markal's advisor and second in command. I was known as one of the fiercest warlords in Hell and commanded my own personal army of Demons, The Legions of Gluttony.
It was unheard of for a non-Demon to be given control of an army of Demons, but I was the first. Most of the Demons in Hell respected and feared me for my accomplishments. I took what I wanted when I wanted it, and destroyed anyone who got in my way. Demons respect power and I was really freaking powerful.
That was the main reason why the Demons gave me their loyalty and became my army. Because my power and ruthlessness overcame the species barrier, and they considered me just as much a Demon as they were.............Well that and the fact that Markal would personally kill anyone who dared to insult me........Well only if I didn't kill them first.
A Demon Army is composed of 72 pillars(or generals) each of whom has control of a unit that can vary in size. I hand-picked each of my pillars and they joined me willingly. I would not force someone to join me, because then their loyalty would always be in question. Every single one of them was willing and proud to be part of the Devourer's army.
That was what my title was, The Devourer. I was feared and respected along with Markal by any and all demons in the Sixth Level and lower. I had started out searching to get stronger, but somewhere along the way, I had carved out a place for myself among demons.
After 10,000 years had passed and I was considered the second strongest Demon in the Sixth Level, after Markal, I decided to return to earth for a while. Markal had recently become interested in aquiring goods from earth and apparently there was going to be a large peace conference between all of the races, in regards to trade and racial conflicts, and the Demons needed an important person to go and represent them.
The Legions of Gluttony were depressed, but I assured them that I would return soon. My 72 Pillars presented me with three rings, that they had assembled\created\found, as symbols of their loyalty and thanks for my leadership.
The first ring allowed me to summon any or all of my 72 pillars, and their units freely and at will. They told me to use it often, even if it was only for something small like making food or killing some small bugs. They also asked me to never take it off or lose it, because if anyone else used it, they would immediately kill the summoner and search for me to demand that I put it back on.
Hmm. Their loyalty is a bit extreme but I appreciate that. Anyway. The second ring, was tied into a teleportation spell, so that if I recieved a life-threatening wound, I would instantly be teleported to a Healing Hall in one of my castles, which was always manned.
While the third ring, would allow me to summon any of the Seventh Level Demonic Beasts we had captured and were breeding, including my personal mount, Darmon.
Incidentally, Darmon happens to be a Giant Lava Beast, that I tamed in the middle of a volcano, in the Seventh Level of Hell.
Darmon looks like this: http://wall.alphacoders.com/big.php?i=412895
(Tell me that does not look freaking awesome.)
I accepted all three rings, and then said goodbye to my adopted brother Markal, promising to remain in contact, and to do all that I could to make sure that the Demons recieved good treatment at the conference.
By the way Markal was a draconian type demon who looked like this: http://wall.alphacoders.com/big.php?i=273106
I then created a portal to Earth and walked through with Lilith and Sharil, who was in her humanoid form.
I looked like this: http://wall.alphacoders.com/big.php?i=260843
I'm back world. Prepare to be F*CKED! I won't let you take anything from me again.

Cross POV
I grabbed and drained the first human I found after returning to earth, before incinerating his body, leaving nothing but ashes.
I had cast an illusion barrier, so that no one would see us, as we adjusted, to this time. Hmm. This is a lot of information. It seems this year is known as 2017, and there are a lot of new things. Well, I should create some clothing and help Lilith and Sharil find a decent appearance.
For my lengthy seven and a half foot frame, I create a pair of black jeans, leading down to a pair of black tennis shoes, with a black t-shirt, with an elaborate Blood-red cross in the center. What can I say, I look good in dark colors, and I like black and red. Besides all vampires are handsome so I have nothing to worry about.
Well that is odd. It seems that people today do not believe in any supernatural creatures. Although it seems that they are popular in television and film. I definitely have to find out what this tv thing is, it sounds interesting.
And What the Hell is with people's tastes. If I am correct then there is a popular series called Twilight, that is popular with teenagers. It seems the male I killed was a fan. Now just give me a second................
Why the F*CK does Edward's chest sparkle?! I mean that must be the most useless vampire ability ever. Totally useless. I mean what does that do for you? I don't get why people would think of that as a turn on, I mean it looks like he has rocks stuck in his chest, wouldn't that hurt?
Ugh. If this is what vampires are like today, I think I'll just kill myself and leave the shame and humiliation to later generations. If we monsters have really sunk that low, then there is no reason to keep on living.
Well, before we leave to find out if vampires are now pathetic sissies who make f*cking werewolves look scary. Although, if these memories are correct, the werewolves were also a bunch of p*ssies.
I mean the only thing that gives me hope is this talk of a Dracula character, and Vlad the Impaler. It seems that no one knows if they are the same person, but they seem like good role models.
Perhaps there is hope for monsters yet. I mean, staking thousands of people is definitely a good start to being a vampire. We're not supposed to be sissies who only pretend to be scary, our good looks serve for making our prey less wary.
We are monsters that delight in blood and death, not wimps, who think a romantic dinner is a good start to seducing someone...........Why the Hell would we want to seduce anyone? If vampires went around seducing people, then why the Hell did I invent rape?..........FINE. I didn't actually invent it, it was already around by the time I discovered it.
Whatever, I will personally deal with this Edward person, after we find a place to stay. I swear, he will not last long at all, or maybe I will give him a long and painful death. Now to make some clothes for Lilith and Sharil.
Let's see. For Lilith maybe some short cut-off jean shorts, and a cut off tank top, with some tennis shoes. And for Sharil, well she always liked leather, so I'll make her look like a biker chick. Black leather boots, dark blue jeans and an open black leather jacket, revealing her bikini underneath.
Yep that's good. Damn, I love making my wives look sexy. Hmm. It seems they like it. Now I just need to find a way to find the way to the Supernatural Trade Conference. Hmm.
"Hey Lilith, do you have any contacts around here. Since it's been ten thousand years I doubt anyone I know is around here. By the way, where are we?"
"We are in the U.S. and It's been a couple of centuries, but I do have some old boyfriends around."
"Good. But if you F*ck one of them, you have to kill him. No exceptions. If you don't want to then I will, but it won't be quick or painless. Okay."
"Sure. but if one of them p*sses me off, I think I'll give him to you anyway."
Damn. She really is heartless, don't let that smoking hot exterior fool you. Sharil is a little more manageable, unless her eyebrows start twitching. That is usually the sign that she's about to go batsh*t crazy and kill everyone in the room.
I look around as Lilith talks on a cellphone. Come to think of it, where the hell did she pull that out of. It looks like we're standing in an alleyway, that is cluttered with broken bottles and litter. Ugh. Humans are always messy like this.
Ah. It looks like Lilith is done, and that's good because I swear Sharil looks like she's going to go postal, after standing still for nearly five minutes.
"I know a guy who has a bar and club for supernaturals a couple of blocks from here. And don't worry he's mated, so I won't be f*cking him."
"Good. Will he be able to secure us a place to stay for now?"
"Yeah. He's good at stuff like that."
"Perfect. I hope he has Demon Brew, because Sharil needs something to take her mind off random slaughter. I don't want to attract attention by slaughtering people. . . . .At least not yet. So Lead the way."
Sharil and I follow Lilith as she walks out and hails a vehicle called a cab. Strange. This moving mass of metal is definitely strange. It feels weird, like the world is moving around me, but the car is staying still. And the noise. Ugh. The noise is horrid. I suppose pathetic humans must use sh*t like this to get around though.
Ah. Here we are. Finally. I'm pretty sure that I don't like cars, they're to weird, give me a Demonic Lava Beast any day. At least they try to eat you and are actually sentient...........Although I'm not exactly sure how that is a good thing.
Lilith sends a mind numbing smile towards the driver, promptly making him forget our bill before stepping out. Hmm. It is a rather popular bar, I can sense vampires, shifters, a few mages, and some demons in there.
Whatever. I am barely able to contain myself from killing all of these obnoxious people. This is a big difference from Hell, where everyone treats me with respect. Here no one gives a sh*t who I am, and there is nothing I can do about it, since I am supposed to be playing the peaceful ambassador...........Come to think of it, why did Markal ask me to take this assignment?
The last thing I am is peaceful. I am known for my violence, short-temper, cruelty, leadership skills, lust for women, combat ability, and general lack of any kind of morals. Not really what you look for in a peace ambassador.
Whatever. I owe Markal many things and would take on virtually any task for him.
I sigh, as I open the door to the bar. Hopefully, this will end without me burning this entire freaking city to the ground. It is so much easier in Hell, where I just have to kill everyone who doesn't like me.

Art of Mortality
New Synopsis after chapter 56: Long long ago, there was a mortal who despised the gods and envied the immortals. Why do the mortals have to die when the gods wish them to? Why do worlds have to perish when the gods say so? Why do only immortals get to live forever, why not mortals like him? As his family, friends, and his loved one died, he lamented. He wailed, he cried. He cursed the immortals, blasphemed the gods, spat at the heavens. But he was just a mere mortal. His curses were pointless, his blasphemous words were useless, and his spits only returned back to fall on his face. At last, he thought, enough was enough, he would definitely do something about it. He decided that it was time for the multiverse to know what a mortal can do. He was the first mortal to cultivate. Eventually, after a long struggle, he killed the Immortals, enslaved the Gods, and shattered the heavens. He reshaped the multiverse and rewrote his fate. In the end, he reincarnated as he decided upon a grand scheme, a scheme to rule 'All and Always'. He came up with the concept of what is known today as 'Paragon'. And with this, all of reality, 'All and Always', was finally reforming, according to a Mortal's Wish. Synopsis (Old): In the vast and complex multiverse, what can a mortal accomplish? In the grand scheme of things, what can a mortal change? In truth, what is a mortal, and what is mortality? Being mortal is being ordinary, the same as being trash, or so says The World. "No, mortality is an art, and a true mortal is a grand artist. Being the root of all, a mortal can become anything.", says a young mortal boy. Meet Edward Alexander, a mortal boy walking the path against gods and immortals, fighting to the end to rewrite his destiny, and change the grand scheme of things. Can he really change the grand scheme of things? Or maybe he himself is the Grand Schemer? To know the answer, follow Edward Alexnder on his journey to demonstrate the Art of Mortality.*******
