《Forging his own destiny》Chapter 139

Gisele hissed a little when she forced her shoulder back in its place. The pain was dulled thanks to painkiller potion she gulped a moment ago.
Right now she was hiding in hidden alcove, the location was so good that she even allowed herself to light a small fireplace. To the pot over fire she threw few already prepared dried herbs to make a paste to cover wounds with. Repealing herbs were useless here – minotaurs that ruled within those floors were no “monsters”, thus were invulnerable.
She masked the entrance to the room a little and gulped another potion – the one that will help her rest and regenerate stamina and treat her injuries. The problem is, that she will be sleeping for next three or four hours, even as she would wake up, she will feel drugged for yet another hour.
Dangerous, indeed, but she had no other choices left. Her wounds were severe, painting her bandages red no matter how many times she treated them.
When she ate, drank and already covered herself in paste, she extinguished fire and laid in the corner reducing chances of being spotted even further. Slowly she fell into dreamless sleep.

I looked over my status window. That’s it. Yet another time I distributed my points more or less equally. It’s not my fault, that I have predisposition for magic but my race tends to focus on combat! I needed to utilize as much as possible.
But also there is a case of armor from Florian. I still have time, but as he said that it will be made from specific materials it’s going to be heavy beyond imagination. Beyond capabilities of average human. 35 strength will lead me nowhere, especially that strong humans starts with STR on level of 50 and above.
Should I allocated all attribute points into STR for next two or three levels?... Well, I could give up magic a little for now and try mastering my body…
I was told that 100 points for human means that some individual has devoted his whole life to maser some particular branch of fighting. Old archamges will have INT of 100-120, similar WIS and about 50 in SPIR… and here I am, average in everything, not very strong, bah, even a weakling when it comes to physical aspects, living only thanks to morphing, with bit decent magical abilities and average speed and reflex.
What should I do? Leveling gets harder and harder, it means that from now onward I should spent points carelessly? Any ideas?
~ Strength is always the solution. Only fool says that violence can’t solve everything. By mastering your body you will be able to kill magicians before they would cast the spell, and even if you would get hit, via training you can learn natural resistance toward elemental damages. Also, as you said, you can boost your strength thanks to who you are. My recommendation – STR, END and CON as basic and from time to time RFX and DEX

~ Well, not really. You have to remember that you are favorite of two goddesses, you are learning magic with speed beyond comprehension, you also have to remember, that you are an alchemist and you work for syndicate. Higher mental attributes will make you more useful for them, and by this, they will be more useful for you. INT and WIS as basic for pure damage, SPI and RFX as secondary to get additional bonuses for your spells and to react faster, from time to time you can give point or two in physical to not die in shot or two.
~ Well, and I have yet another advice. Focus on DEX and RFX as basic. Those will allow you to react as fast as possible. INT and WIS as secondary, to pick best decision as you would find yourself in stressful situations. You can cover your lack of physical strength with morphing. That would cover most possible scenarios… Plus, it is never too late to learn a good old pick pocketing.
~ And I tell ya, every level give 1 point into Charm/Charisma and rest between DEX and END/STA.
What kind of build is that?
~ Charisma and Charm will let ya impress chicks, DEX for more positions, and END/STA will let ya last longe… Mwglrlgrlgrlgrl!
~ Lust, important stuff is being discussed here. Go play somewhere else, will you? Maybe in Sloth’s room.
As always, thank you Greed. Tsh, I will decide later, maybe after next level up. Yeah, entering 20ties levels will be a good time for deciding. For now… forward!
~And I tell you, pay no attention to what they are speaking. Do you remember encountering enemies with “Trained body” title? If you would train long enough you will be able to raise your abilities and attributes by training. “Trained body”, “Flexible body”, “Trained mind”… This is why Sebastian wanted you to train harder… but for now…. Don’t you have someone to save?
Once again I used the stairs to get to the 11th floor to keep looking for yet another stairs. After releasing my bloodlust my minds was calm and focused. I was more than sure that I will not miss any corridor.
The ground trembled. Lots of waves came from opposite direction. I knew only that whatever it pr those was/were, it was either big, or pretty few of them were coming. I moved my head to the side, loud cracking sound echoed through the room.
I spread sickles that up until now were resting on my shoulders to not disturb my balance. Sound of limb made of exoskeleton rubbing over another made and evil hiss, as if threatening. Well, I didn’t feel any urge to kill… but…
~ One slaughter a day keeps voices away!
I grinned while taking combat position.
Guild of Rosewood.
Guild in the trading city of Rosewood, that laid near the Rosewood river that took its name from merchant house Rosewood that… ok! Ok! I got it!
Adventure guild in the city of Rosewood was known thanks to its members – mostly beastmen. If you were looking for someone to really hard tasks, you were asking for beastmen of Rosewood. Escort caravan to the south through dangerous area? Call for Rosewood! Extermination of monsters dwelling in very inaccessible cave? Rosewood! Every time when quest took place in extreme environments picking beastmen was most logical choice. Lizardmen that could easily withstand in hot climate, cat tribe with eyes seeing perfectly in the dark, dog-kin when target needed to be tracked first…

Tiger-morph, one of most respected members of the guild was sipping beer. Not so long ago he finished quest for Council of magic, he had enough coin to rest for a longer period of time.
To his table local guild master come
“Al, my room. Now.”
Fat human that was head of the guild was know of being very warm and polite person, always respecting other races. He used to have small talks with everyone making atmosphere within building light and friendly. So his tone made all talks in inn section die.
“What’s the matter? You sound serious… too serious M…” “Office.”
He said yet another time and not waiting for anything nor anyone he went on the floor.
Al’targor, raised and followed guild head. When he entered the room, heart jumped to his throat as he saw his face. Whatever happened, it’s bad. And he has to be involved.
“Al… have you tried assassinating someone important not so long ago?”
That didn’t ring a bell
“Don’t think so… no… When? Why? Most of my time I spent either in guild drinking, training, or in brothel… that is if I am not currently on the mission… and trust me, if I wanted someone’s death, he or she would be dead….” “Zariel White Raven.” That sentence made tiger-kin shut his mouth for a moment. “Council send me a letter…” he pointed with his head on huge piece of parchment completely covered in letters. “Long one. Summarizing all those gibberish… They almost want your head… no, no literally, but they demand punishment…” “That little asshole saw that coming! He deserved that! Plus he is an adventurer, disputes between adventurers are out of their jurisdiction and should be judged between themselves…” “Oh, but I heard that there was a duel… Niardo had his ass handed to him, am I right?” “…He put hexbag under my blanket… I could have died…” “Was it that serious?” “… not directly. It made lost my focus and…” “What kind of spell?” “… I couldn’t rest in night, it made me seriously weakened for the ne…” “Did you just say… that you almost killed a kid cuz he made you have unpleasant dreams?! Plus I heard that you forced him into hardest and most disgracing labors!”
Al had his head lowered.
“If I am regretting something, then only that I failed. I simply hate him. The way he talks, the way he acts… And he was bloody F rank! F! Among S and A! He dared to talk back!... Yet still, he is an adventurer, I am an adventurer… they can suck a…” “That kid was called a genius. Many wants to lay his hands on him… Up to the point, that Council made him an ambassador…” “…Ambassador of what?!” “You encountered intelligent race in the dungeon, did you? He was the one who start negotiations and get their help for your cause. Under the law, until full-time ambassador would be picked, the role of ambassador is being fulfilled by the man who was negotiating… Al… if we don’t want to have our finances cut, I have to punish you… Any ideas?”
S rank was left speechless. How could his situation turn into such pile of shit? Because he wanted to make a brat pay? Ok! Maybe I overdid it, but I am hot blooded! Why that brat is so special?!
“For now… I will temporarily suspend your S rank, we will sent some kind of apologizing letter and tell them in advance that this must have been some kind of misunderstanding… we will also ask them what kind of compensation they want…” “Compensations?” “The good thing, is that this is not formal accusation, lowering head should do the trick… unless kid will demand your punishment, that is… well, saying bluntly, Council is in shitty position too… Stay low for now, I will deal with it… It would be best, if you would… apologize him or s…” “DO WHAT!? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SAYING?!” “I ensure you, I do. I am trying to save someone I picked up and raised like my own son. I used to say that your stubbornness will be your downfall, please, Al, prove me wrong.
Al opened and shut his mouth couple of time. Guild master wasn’t the one to shout at. He did nothing wrong.
That fucking brat… it should be all right if he would convince him to not file a charge. Oh, he convince him. They will have a conversation. Nice and long.
Ok, today’s chap is mere 7 pages 2k words, but hey! I wrote even as I should be doing project! That’s something… is it? Please tell me that it is something, also, you may speak your mind about the way you want Zari to distribute points, well you can wait with that till mentioned level 20ties, and when we will update Zari’s class. Also, if you have suggestion bout Zari’s Class… ya know… Comment button is right under this sentence…

Hazelsong: A LitRPG Novel
Release Schedule: I will be moving to a set release schedule as of 1/1/2022. A new chapter will be released every Saturday at Noon EST. If I have time that week for a second chapter, I will leave a note on the Saturday chapter and post the second chapter on Sunday at Noon EST. An up to date character sheet for the MC Erik will also be posted on Sundays at 12:15 PM. If life happens and I am for some reason unable to write that week, I will post a blank chapter giving you an update on where I am with my writing. Saturday Noon EST: First weekly chapter Sunday Noon EST: Second weekly chapter (if I have the time) Sunday 12:15 EST: Updated character sheet Synopsis: Years after surviving a deadly accident, Erik struggles to come to terms with his painful disability. When offered the chance to playtest the world's first full immersion VRMMO, he wants nothing more than to retreat back into his secluded life, until he learns what Hazelsong really offers. An escape from the pain. Hazelsong is a world of magic and adventure, a place where friendships are formed, loot is won, and glory and fame are there for the taking. While the threats feel real and the stakes are always high, there is only one thing Erik is really in danger of. Forgetting which world is actually real. Story Themes: Hazelsong is a LitRPG novel that not only explores the fictional world of a realistic online fantasy realm but the life of a man suffering in silence from chronic pain and PTSD due to a significant physical injury and disability. Mental health is an important subject and we all know at least one person in our lives who has or is dealing with some form of mental illness. I plan on putting my best effort forward to represent these illnesses in a fair and accurate manner. Not as a cheap plot device to help make the protagonist more unique, but to help paint an accurate picture for those of us who have been lucky enough to not have to suffer in silence. About the Author: I am Ash Durra, general video game nerd and a connoisseur of fantasy and sci-fi of all shapes and sizes. Needless to say, I am not a professional author (B.S. and M.S. in Education, 8 years teaching). After really getting into LitRPG novels over the past several years, I found my way to Royal Road, which has inspired me to use my spare time to begin writing a story of my own creation. As this is a hobby, I am not writing and posting chapters on any kind of specific schedule at the moment, though my goal is to post on average 1-2 chapters a week. I am incredibly excited to share this story with others as I write it, and I look forward to any constructive feedback about how I can improve in my writing.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Dwarf While Trapped in a Dungeon Full of Spiders
Thousands of years ago, mankind would honor their dead and their journey to the afterlife through the process of mummification. The elaborate tombs and burial rituals marked our transition from hunter-gatherers to civilizations and empires. However, it's been over 500 years since we've sent tributes to the underworld, and now the underworld, or whatever lies beyond, has decided to send something back. Authors Note- This story is inspired by DnD, Dark Souls, Guild Wars 1, and my love of eldritch horror and dark creepy dungeons. Also completed doesn't mean end of the line. There is more Mike Sammons in the future, promise.
