《Forging his own destiny》Chapter 138

The sound of steel hitting my sickles echoed through the hall. In the room few more sounds could be heard – grunting of massive zombies, stomping of their clumsy bodies, dull sounds were made as they collapsed every time in a while.
But I heard few more things. Things that your average normal could never hear. My heart pounding as hammer almost deafening me, the rush of blood in my veins – as loud as waterfall, and somewhere at the back of my head, never ending cacophony of various scream, yells and moans. Those were my instincts trying to outshout each another. Screams of predators telling me to rip and tear. To clash and thrash. And voice of preys, the one that yelled for staying careful and vigilant. But the last one… were barely whispers.
And I had my…
I ducked under swung of waraxe, moving with swiftness possible only for specific kind of reptiles, I twisted my body around the zombie, used ending my tail as whip I kept another creature away, doing same with third monster but with help of sickles.
4th Zombie was only roaring in anger as it had no place to attack me. The boss held still, in semi-kneeling position, with blade behind his back and both hands on the hilt of katana.
I had my…
The sound of bones cracking under the pressure of my tail made me shiver. The end of the tail grabbed the monster my ankle, I pulled it, first to the left to shake it balance, then in the very next moment to the right making his whole body fall. Doing so I got another few seconds before it would get up, few seconds I could use to focus my attention on rest of the monster.
I had my…
I released the corpse of my grip, moved quickly to the left avoiding one attack, and then right away in different direction just to confuse my enemy further, just to rush at it from the front. My body collided with his, I grabbed the creature by waist and kept charging forward. The abomination tried to attack me at first, yet my body was out of his hands reach, them he tried pushing me back, yet he was lacking any point of supports. I ended clashing his body into the wall. It groaned in pain. Using the moment I released the creature just to perform few slashes with my claws. Blood and pus spattered over the floor.
I had my… fun!
I clasped my hands together as for praying, slowly parting them. In space between my palms a small sparkle appeared, growing stronger, hotter and brighter with each passing second, yet it size never change staying always as big as pea.
The force grew and grew, the pressure kept getting stronger almost pushing my hands to the side. The small sparkle was generating heat, via heat it was sucking more and matter getting heavier and heavier.
Heavier and warmer. Heavier and warmer. More. More… MORE!
Suction became so powerful, that the dust from whole room kept coming to that very spark. Yet I kept restricting its power. What I tried making, was smallest possible black hole. Or it was just a concept. I used heat to attract mass, and then mass… to attract even more mass. I used to work fire magic to create explosion, the question is, can I use it to cause implosion?
I threw the light bomb between remaining two monster. Sparkle flew with loud whizzing sound, when it get in point exactly between creatures I released the seal that was restricting it powers. For a split of the second the sparkle grew to colossal size releasing the heat around, yet as flames escaped to the sides they left the center of sparkle empty, creating vacuum which sucked the objects that were closest to it, which were the very monster.

It lasted only for two or three seconds in total, yet in those very two or three seconds the parts of monsters bodies were torn apart, flew into the center of sparkle where they were mashed together. Hand of one got stuck into the torso of the second, leg of the second was sticking out of first’s back. They were nothing more than a pulp of randomly connected limbs.
They looked so… so… pathetic!
I could do nothing but to giggle like silly kid.
Yet my carefree joy didn’t last long.
You have been damaged. You took [70] dmgYou are now bleeding
I hissed in pain and irritation. The boss that was not moving up until now somehow covered the distance of the whole hall in few seconds and managed to sink his blade in my side. He took it out in very next moment and jumped three steps backs rapidly before my claws could reach him.
He performed few fast moves with his blade as he changed the way he was holding it, a moment ago he kept the blade by his side, almost behind his back, now he had it raised on the level of his head with blade pointing at me.
Fast! He was much, much faster than those mindless meat pulps from before. He also possessed technique of above average swordsman. He took his position instead of mindlessly attacking and waited till very end before attacking.
So, the enemy that actually thinks? It’s like fighting with human being. Much faster, stronger creature that master sword and feels no fatigue? Human size bosses? RPG games taught me something about human size bosses.
I focused my attention at the wound, within next few seconds a pale green light embraced it healing slowly.
I start moving into his direction paying attention to his moves. There were none. He patiently waited for me to get back. When we were three meters apart I stopped for a second…
Just to slam my body into the place where he stood. I hit nothing but dirt, as my target jumped to the side. I started following his right away, sliding into places that he has been just a moment ago. With each move I tried to slash with my claws, to pierce with sickles or to ram with my whole body. But the creature was faster by the split of the second.
As I prepared myself for yet another twist of my body, zombie spun in place avoiding my attack and ran by my side as he tried digging blade in my side yet another time. Yet this time he was lacking momentum and his katana barely scratched my scaled tail. Very thin, barely bleeding wound appeared alongside the trail that his sword carved in my body.
Thanks to my reptile lower body my ability to change direction was superior toward humanoids, I twisted another time trapping zombie in the circle made of my own tail. He was all mine.
My sickles flew from above in not complicated pattern, but with extraordinary speed. Strike from the left, strike from the right, left and right, left and right.
Abomination lowered his posture on his legs and with eagerness started parrying. His speed was frightening me more and more. Shoulders of normal human wouldn’t kept with the momentum and would dislocated themselves.
“D’iable… sword.”
I hissed trying to not lose the focus. Plain bastard word appeared in my hands.
I used my tail to slam his backs. He lost his balance, in that moment I used both sickles as reversed blades and sunk them in his backs from behind. Then I performed a thrust with sword aiming at his solar plexus.

Again, I forgot about him being an undead. Fully intelligent undead. He felt no pain and always picked action that would lead to either maximal gains or minimal damages.
He jerked his body to the side, tearing huge chunks of meat from my sickles. He strike another time, I needed to turn my head to the side to avoid getting my skull impaled. Still the blade ended in my arm.
I tightened my muscles making exoskeleton to trap the blade. It hurt like hell, yet another time I tried slashing the creature with sickles, and yet another time it jumped to the safe distance. This time much slower.
Also his strike was lacking strength, probably because he was lacking muscles on his backs. My enemy was weakened, the problem is, that my arm is getting stiff too. I pulled the blade off my body and dropped it to the opposite side of the room. Well, I am only wounded, he is both wounded and disarmed. 2:1 for me, sucker!
“Honorable opponent… would return the blade… to his foe…”
Zombie groaned
“Will keep that in mind, just in case I would encounter some fool that pledges life to honor.” “Honor is a great…. Value… makes your words… stronger…” “Words won’t block swords nor arrows.” “It may… save your life.” “It didn’t save yours. Now, be a good corpse and crawl back to your grave.” “I won’t.” “You have no weapon… Swordsman without a sword doesn’t mean a lot…”
In very next moment he shoved his right hand into left shoulder, loud cracking sound echoed through the hall. He pulled his bone from arm. It was ended sharply, he cut off remaining piece of flash below his shoulder.
“So.. you are using your arm… as a blade… so, does it counts as being armed? Or disarmed? It’s confusing, you know?” “Making fun of your enemy… You are a disgrace to the name… of the warrior…” “I will tell you a secret…”
I smiled another time and rushed at him. The wounds started aching again.
He bolted at me too,
We have met in the middle of the hall. I sung the blade from the side, he answered by falling in his knees and sliding under it, meat on his knees got ripped off, he raised and attacked from above, I used sickle to change the trajectory of his swing. I kept trying to wound him further in order to reduce his mobility even more. Yet still my efforts were futile… of course they were. That asshole won’t get tired, won’t slow down. Not unless I would tear few more muscles off his body.
Ignoring pain I used my damages left hand to slash removing yet another piece of flesh from his body.
Ok, bit by bit, let’s keep reducing him. I have time…
~…A…actually… we have someone to rescue… Ya remember?
…
~Boss?
Of course I do!
~ya forgot?
I didn’t
~he totally did
Ok! Ok! Here! I am ending this!
I made an opening allowing his to perform a clean strike.
The bone dug bit in my side, leaning to him I just made wound that classified as “tis but a scratch” into “Is there a doctor in the house?!”, but in the very end I reached him. I used the sword to impale his leg into the ground, then I changed the position of sickles sinking both of them in his chest, I raised him from the ground and began moving my limbs to the side stretching his from the insides.
It was the first time he actually showed pain. For a moment before he was split in half. The pieces of him flew in all directions.
I was wounded badly, bleeding and exhausted. And ginning like mad.
I want to do it again!

Later! Later! Let’s keep going, I can treat my wounds while climbing. Wait… what is that?
In the middle of the room chest appeared. Out of thin air. I am more than sure it was not there when I entered the room. So, boss’s chest. I ain’t even mad.
I crawled in that direction. Well, that’s the first boss monster so prizes won’t be astonishing… I lifted the lid of the chest. Inside were few coins and object. I collected coins right away and proceed to investigating the object. It was… a hat?
Crab Hat of Curse TakerItem:HatRank:???That hat originally belonged to No-One-Special - preacher of old-forgotten Anuel.

He is the hail mary or kitchen sink of the universe and it will be up to him to adapt to his new world and become strong enough to survive and to save the universe. ********* Author's Note ********* This is my first published book so feedback would be appreciated. A couple of caveats. First this story is about the details, if you don't enjoy reading and finding the easter eggs or just like to speed read through the chapters you will probably not enjoy it. Second for those that do not like the Harem tag I just want to state that this is going to be a matriarchal society and the women will outnumber the men 5-1. That being the case and because of the culture that I imagine would arise from this I felt it fair to put that tag out there. However, the main character isn't going to be picking up women left and right. This is not a typical harem story. Image was googled so I have no rights to it
