Chapter 23: Me-Rrow!
A raucous laugh echoed through the room. The soft flutter of a sweetly fanned mermaid’s tail and the giggle of an even sweeter mermaid would be enough to capture the attention of any man, but in this instance it was even more intriguing.
“Come on, master. Play with me a little?” asked Shaia with a bouncy giggle. Her face was flush and almost as red as her back. She had been out in the sun too long, and despite her true nature her body was subject to simply physics at time. In short, she had been out so long that she had a mild sunburn.
Pirouette had been called away to deal with an emergency situation related to her institute business. During that time Scott had been forced to deal with this feisty fish girl.
Scott laughed a little then fended off the drunken mermaid. One of her new friends had been a sneaky little thing. She had brought high grade liquor to the water fountain and shared it with the other girls. As a result, poor little shy Shaia was quite frisky!
“Ow! Oh, shtupid sunburn!” cried Shaia. She sniffed at Scott a little then giggled softly once more.
“Want me to put a little sunburn cream on it?” asked Scott.
“Oh, yes! Yes, please.” She rolled over on the bed then lifted her tail into the air. She looked back at him cutely with her back arched gently and her breasts pressed to her pillow.
“I’ll be gentle.” said Scott while he sifted through his inventory to find his sunburn ointment.
Shaia pouted at him. “Master, I wish you wouldn’t.”
“Hmm?” asked Scott as he pulled the ointment from his MISS.
Shaia looked at him then her face became even more flush. “You’re always sho sweet to me. I love that! But I really wish you wouldn’t be sho gentle some times.”
Scott looked at her curiously. “What do you mean?”
She giggled loudly then flared her nostrils. “I don’t know. Maybe it’s the alcohol talking? I jusht, it’s sho frustrating to me that I’m sho shy. I keep hoping that you’ll shtop touching me, but on the other hand sometimes I wish that you’d just take charge of my body and make me beg for some forgivenesses.”
“Shaia, just how drunk are you right now?” asked Scott.
She rolled over again then spread her arms wide. “I’m thish drunksy!”
“O-kaay then...” said Scott.
Shaia laughed softly then flailed her arms a little. “Woohoo! Come to Shaia, daddy!”
“Who’s your daddy?” asked Scott in surprise. She never spoke like this.
Shaia cackled madly for a moment then cried out in a sing-song voice. “I got you to say iiit!”
“Right, let’s get this cream on you, and put you to bed.” said Scott.
She pouted at him then flapped her tail down once obstinately. “No! Shaia don’t wansta go to sleep. Shaia wansh to get wrecked, daddy!”
Scott threw himself back like he had been doused with acid. The tube of burn cream flew into the air. “Shaia! What in the world?”
The drunk mermaid was the polar opposite of who she was sober. Scott could not believe that she had just casually said such a thing. She practically burst into tears if he hugged her too tightly.
“I’m shoooo damned horny! You’re the biggest tease in the world, Scott.” accused the girl with a drunken slur.

“Yeah, definitely the alcohol talking.” said Scott.
The beautiful mermaid snorted at him then crossed her arms over her breasts. “You hold me all the time and it scares the crap out of me, but then you never take the next step!”
She lunged forward then dragged him down by his shirt collar. “I work so hard. I train so much. What’s it going to take?”
“You saying something like this when you’re sober, I guess?” asked Scott. This was a situation that was beyond bizarre to him.
Shaia growled cutely and her face reddened. “Darn it... I can’t say that sort of thing when I’m sober.”
Scott lifted his hand up and gently stroked her hair. Shaia snuggled against his palm then sighed softly.
“You’re always sho shweet to me.” she said softly.
Scott did not speak. He let her talk all that she wanted. She rarely spoke to him at length due to her painful shyness. Now that she had her tongue loosened by alcohol, she could not be silent.
She slipped her tongue out and she lightly licked his wrist. “Mmmm, salty.”
Scott smiled at the drunk girl then sighed. She was certainly sweet and more than a little bit surprising at the moment, but she was also too intoxicated to trust what she said. It might be her true feelings coming to the surface, but it would not be right to take advantage of her.
She looked up at him then grinned. “Daddy, can I touch it?”
“Not tonight honey.” said Scott with an amused smile.
“Oh poo, you let Flora touch it.” said Shaia with a snort.
“Flora wasn’t drunk.” said Scott.
“Well, now I’m not drunk either then.” She pouted at him then did her best to try and look sober. It did not work out well for her.
“Good girls don’t lie to their daddy.” said Scott. There was probably no hard in playing along a little.
Shaia sniffled at him. Suddenly her eyes misted over and she leaned her head back. She started to cry loudly. “I’m shorry daddy! Shaia is a good girl! She really is.”
Scott grunted. Yeah, she was definitely more than a little drunk.
She looked up at him. “Can you at leasht put the sunburn cream on me?”
“Sure.” he said softly.
Shaia fell back on the bed the lifted her arms and spread them wide while she bent her wrists. “I got a little too much shun right here, daddy.”
Scott nodded to her then decided that he could at least do this much for her. He squirted some of the thick liquid onto her lightly reddened breasts then gently began to massage it in to help relieve her pain.
She winced then closed one eye and gave him a cute and lustful look. “Oh, goodness... Such strong hands.”
Scott smiled at her, but said nothing. This was the closest that she would get to wrecked tonight. He could not bring himself to take advantage of an excessively drunk girl, even one he cared about. Perhaps it was actually because he cared about her? Either way, she was not in her normal state of mind. He would just settle for a nice friendly, and relaxing, breast massage. Shaia for her part had no complaints.

The long and cuddlesome night had ended. Shaia and Pirouette had been returned to their dormant state so that Tara and Flora could begin their shift. They had begun their work by traveling through the town to acclimate the girls a little as well, though they had been there with Scott already in their native Crystallim forms.

The first thing they did after leaving town was to head to the open plains north of town. There were four landmarks that could be used as a way to properly maintain distance from the town while they patrolled.
“Hey, master.” said Flora.
“Hey, Flora.” said Scott.
She smiled at him then shook her head. “No, no look over there.”
Scott looked in the direction that she pointed. There was a small dust cloud forming.
His eyes widened slightly then he pulled out a set of binoculars from his MISS. They revealed the dust cloud was actually cause by a car, but there were flying Crystallim chasing it.
“Hawkline, it looks like a small flock.” said Scott.
Tara pointed her parasol at the growing dust cloud. “Shall we go, master?” she said, before she twirled it around and opened it up to block the sun like a proper lady.
“Yes, let’s.” said Scott.
The trio took off at a rapid pace and soon came within easy sight of the vehicle and its five attackers. The Hawkline were in fine form today, and had done great damage to the sturdy vehicle. Sky hammers, a hard wind attack, rained down all around it. The windshield of the vehicle had been destroyed, and the roof had been gouged and torn.
The owner of the vehicle obviously lived in town. No one drove a land vehicle cross-country to this extent.
“Tara, fancy a little web-shooting?” asked Scott.
“Why, master, I do declare.” said the girl in the accent of an ancient American Southern Belle.
Scott grinned at her and she provided a saucy wink. After playtime ended, the fun began.
Once the vehicle came within range, Tara immediately began to shoot out lengthy sprays of web-line that crossed the distance and tagged one of the Hawkline. Tara rapidly reeled the girl in then wrapped her in webbing before tossing her to the side. Flora began to ruthlessly whip the girl with her vines in order to finish her off.
Tara only managed to capture one more before the angry bird women screeched and dived toward their group. The slow moving vehicle puttered on past them. It was damaged to the extent that it could barely be operated, or perhaps it as just slow moving. It was hard to tell.
Scott performed a series of dodges and rolls to avoid being snatched up by the hawk girls. One of them did manage to get her hands on him, but the moment she tried to drag him into the air, he reached up and gripped her wings with both hands. He gouged her wings in a brutal grip and they both fell to the ground. She shrieked in pain, but they were not going for a flight today.
Flora’s vines shot out and snared the wing of one girl and she yanked her down to the ground. The Alraune proceeded to slap her opponent across the face repeatedly, much to the annoyance of the flighty predator.
Tara, for her part, placed a hand to her cheek and said, “Oh my...” before she turned to the side to avoid a diving girl, closed her parasol, then whipped it around in a powerful arc that caused her absurd weapon to crash down atop the Hawkline’s shoulder with bone-crushing force.
Flora and Tara continued their battle, but interesting things were happening between Scott and his opponent. The pink haired girl tried to bite him on the shoulder but he gripped her wings tighter then slammed his forehead into the bridge of her nose.
The cat-eared bird-lion hybrid growled hatefully at him then returned the attack in kind. They rolled across the ground, head-butting each other for a time, as they battled.
The Hawkline wrapped her thighs around his waist then snarled. “I have you now, human!”
“Not without dinner and a movie first!” cried Scott.
The pink haired catbird blinked at him then growled. He dared to mock her? “Wait till I get my hands on you human!”
“You already have your hands on me.” retorted Scott.
She glared at him then snapped out, “Well, let me get them on you more!”
“Sorry, but I don’t know if you’re my type.” replied Scott before twisting her wings in a death grip.
She screamed out in pain then looked at him and started to pant in exertion. “Of course I am! Wait... What am I saying!”
The Hawkline bucked and writhed beneath him briefly and she ended up one top. “How dare you try to confuse me!”
“It’s ok, I’m sort of sexy.” remarked Scott before he rolled her over again. Now that he was on top once more she panted even more loudly. A soft purr began to escape her lips.
Suddenly she snapped her head forward and bit down on his shoulder. His body armor, such as it was, mitigated most of the damage but the pressure of her bite was quite apparent. Without that armor he would have had a large chunk of his shoulder torn away.
Scott released one wing then snaked his hand up to grip her hair. He pulled her head back then twisted to the side and bit her on the ear.
The Hawkline screamed in pain for a moment but then slowly began to loosen her grip. Scott continued to pull her hair and to nibble her ear for a time, and the desired result began to take effect.
The lion-bird began to pant even more loudly and her purring increased. Slowly his hips began to grind against him. He was taming the lion, in a manner of speaking.
Meanwhile, Flora had maneuvered herself in such a way that she had her opponent pinned to the ground. Her vines had wrapped around the girl’s neck, and she had her knee in her opponent’s back. The lion-bird hybrid clawed at her throat, but the battle was over for her. It was not long before she was asphyxiated and dissolved into light. Her core dropped to the ground. Her nightmare had come to an end.
Tara delicately sat atop her opponent then opened her silk purse and casually pulled out a thermos of tea and a cup. Her weight continued to crush her opponent into the dirt while she took a sip of her tea. After her brief sip she sighed softly in a contented manner then looked up. “The weather is ever so lovely today.”
Beneath the bulk of Tara’s spider-ass, the Hawkline flailed and struggled, but soon met the same end as her sister. She asphyxiated as well.
Flora finished off the flopping Hawkline who had been wrapped in Tara’s webbing then turned to her master. She snorted when she noticed what was going on.
The pink haired cat-bird purred softly then nuzzled his cheek. “Me-rroow...” she said in a loud and somewhat sensual tone.
Flora rolled her eyes then smiled. The telltale glow and slight electrical effect that began to radiate from the girl told her the truth. Kitty had found herself a friend. The purring Hawkline gently licked the side of Scott’s face then unleashed a cute mewling sound like a happy little kitten.
“Oh my, I’ll have what she’s having.” said Tara gently before she took another sip of her tea.
The energetic effect of bonding continued unabated and soon the Hawkline cried out softly then faded away. Her core shined brightly from the ground. Scott picked it up then smiled. She clearly sparked with him and he sighed in contentment. He would have to keep her in storage for a while due to his legal restrictions, but she would be a good kitty. He just knew it.
The aftermath of the battle involved an easy clean-up. They collected the other four Crystallim cores and Scott smiled. They did not spark with him, but they were certainly nice acquisitions. The girls would find good homes soon, and he would earn a nice payday.

This reincarnation story shows that people who can go back to their past may not be as successful as they thought. I will write no harem in this story. The protagonist may be involved with more than one girl, but not every female will fall at his feet. Swearing will be censored whenever possible since some people do not like explicit forms. However, the censoring will be minimal, like "Fuc**ng." [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
