Groggily John awoke, lying on a pile of blankets and soft furs. His eyes scanning the room he was in he discovered it was fairly bare with only a child-sized bed, desk and chair decorating it. A small window afforded him a glimpse into the world outside and he found himself gazing into a cloudless purple sky with a large red sun hanging lazily high above. That last tidbit shocked his sluggish brain back into gear as he remembered that he was no longer on his world.
His eyes drifted to the doorway his feet were pointing toward just as a little girl with bright pink bunches sauntered past. Immediately trying to get her attention he called;
"Hey! little girl, do you know what's going on here?"
She jumped at his unexpected voice but upon realising what had happened she immediately dashed into the room. At this point, John realised his assessment had been a bit off, whilst she did have bright pink hair, she was definitely not a little girl. Her childlike frame carried a pair of grapefruit-sized breasts that pushed up against what appeared to be some kind of light brown robe that ran down to just above her ankles, her large head taken up by abnormally large sparkling blue eyes and large cheerful grin. Immediately she started talking in a squeaky, quick, bubbly voice;
"Lle naa kuile! amin nae dele lle nae goien gurth-, manke naa amin manners. Amin naa Tilly Mani naa essa en lle?"
John just stared blankly at her and she tilted her head to the side in confusion. Then a light seemed to flash in her eyes and she hurried out of the room. Several minutes later she returned with what appeared to be a bag of some kind of powder. Taking some out into her hand she blew it into his face.

"Did it work?"
Still staring at the strange little woman John just nodded his head
"*phew* I wasn't quite sure how you would react to that stuff, you know with you being from another world and all, there was a chance it might have killed you! haha isn't it lucky it didn't? Anywhos, I'm glad you aren't dead, my name is Tilly what's yours?"
It took a second for John to comprehend everything she had just blurted out of he mouth and he felt the sudden desire to tear off her head. Still, before that he figured he should probably try to figure out how strong she is, it wouldn't be very smart to immediately die because he picked a fight with an alien that was way above him. Figuring that there was zero chance this woman knew the face he was wearing he decided to just give her his real name.
"John, I'm also pretty glad I'm not dead. Would you be willing to tell me what's going on?"
She then proceeded to explain in a lot of detail, with several tangents along the way about where and how she had found him. Clearly thinking nothing of the casual mention of using magic, she got a little red-faced when she said how she had checked if he was a man or a lady and asked him to confirm that he was a man and that those things were the same here as they were back on earth, to which he nodded. After about 15 minutes of exhaustively explaining how she had found him and brought him back to her home she asked if he was hungry, to which he nodded again, he had yet to speak since asking his question as he was being barraged with information. She had then dissolved the cuffs on his wrists and led him through the house to a small dining room. He had to sit cross-legged on the floor to sit at the table and she had used a large cutting board as a plate for him so that it was an appropriate size. She cooked a selection of cooked meats and various pastries that were finished in a way shorter time than he expected and he insisted he clean the dishes. As he did so he slipped one of the larger and sharpest knives into his inventory.

She then spent the rest of the evening telling him all about how the system had hit their world and how the monsters had arrived. He also managed to pick up a few bits of extra information. As it turns out this world had a much smaller population that earth, despite being much larger. Large clans ran their own areas of land and the only places where multiple clans would be found in the same area would be the larger cities which usually existed on the borders of clan territories and were ruled by a council of each of the surrounding clan members. This world was also significantly less technologically advanced here. There were no firearms and the main weapons were either swords, spears, bows, crossbows etc or magic. Magic was everywhere though and had solved very many problems that Earth had been struggling with technology alone. From miracle healing to autonomous flying vehicles to single farms that could sustain a small town it was used in everything. So much so that the currency around here wasn't gold or silver but was small crystals that could be charged with differing amounts of mana and mana was traded in return for goods and services.
Eventually, she had talked herself into exhaustion and, telling John that he could sleep in the room he woke up in retired for the night. John waited for a couple of hours after he heard the faint snoring coming from her room before sneaking in. Pulling out the knife from earlier he stabbed it straight down into her through, immediately cutting through her windpipe and cutting into arteries. Her eyes flew wide open as gurgling sounds followed the pumping of blood through her neck. and the light dimmed slowly from her eyes.
Immediately John used Assimilate

Re:The Worst System Leveling Turned Me Into A Zombie
Before I reached Lvl. 100, they called me Death God Hei. But when I broke the limit, the System punished me. It cursed me to become this monster. I woke up as a Lvl. 0 again. Dying only brings me back to a save point now. But I don't go back until I die twice. First I suffer as a human, then I hunger as a zombie. The worst part is...I still have to watch when that thing takes over my corpse. I call it the Gray. I can't do anything even when it's hunting down those I'm trying to save. Sometimes, I wonder. When I level, I swear I can hear a voice speaking to me. This thing...can it think? It's like Re:zero crossed with SAO, Solo Leveling, and Tokyo Ghoul Re:The Worst System is a dark, 1st person timeloop story where the main character is slowly driven insane by his ability to respawn at a save point. However, each time he levels, there's a possibility that the next time he dies, the zombie inside him will become too powerful for anyone to stop. So he has to level up a harem...ahem, others, to fight for him against the System. Oftentimes, Hei will get trapped in repeating death loops which are truly terrifying. You've been warned...please don't read if you're not willing to see the darkness all the way through. The light on the other side may be a long ways away...I'll be trying to post on Thurs/Sundays, but honestly, depending on how I'm feeling, chapters could come out at some wonky times. NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
