Elder Cao's eyes shone with a mysterious light as he extended his right hand towards the door, he started to circulate his Qi, to check the current defense mechanism in front of him.
*crackle* *fwiiiish*
Thunder suddenly crawled out of the formation and attacked him!
Elder Cao was caught off guard, the lightning crawled on his body. If not for his clothes being enhanced, who knows what that attack would do?
"What has just happened?" Elder Cao murmured under his breath. Even if he was concentrated on something, he should've at least felt the incoming attack especially if it contained any malicious intent.
His brows furrowed as he found the defense mechanism in front of him really strange, really, really strange.
--
Inside the room. Ruzi was standing just right before the door, his face flashing with a cold light. On his hands, lightning was crawling.
He was the one who sent out the attack!
His face did not contain a slight bit of innocence that he usually portrayed. It was as if it was another person!
"Auh..." Ruzi suddenly tumbled back, his face suddenly turned back to the innocent one, as he looked at the door, tilted his head left to right, with a confused face he ran back to the inner room.
Sona feeling the disturbance on the formation has sharpened her senses, and she happens to see the whole thing.
'As expected of a multi-element cultivator!' Sona's eyes sparkled as she watched Ruzi release a lightning technique which struck Elder Cao.
'This.... That person.... His cultivation level!' Sona who finally looked deeper at their 'guest' noticed the situation, and immediately poured out the remaining talismans and performed the hand seals.
The talismans flew on the already talisman packed wall, adding another layer of defense. The wall flickered with light, as it finished the mechanism.
---
"Another layer? Do they multiply by time?" Elder Cao's face twitched, as he found this weird defense mechanism.
Annoyed, Elder Cao took a stance and attacked the door.

*Heavenly Palm; First Fist! Earth-Shattering Fist!!*
*Fuuuu.......*
Sounds of force disappearing sounded out.
D, did his attack just got absorbed?!!
Even if that was only the first move of Heavenly Palm, it was still maneuvered by him! A 9th rank cultivator! He only put his 70% on that attack for fear of completely destroying the whole Cheng Inn, but who would've thought that it would actually be absorbed jus like that?!
Elder Cao's jaw's almost touched the floor... How should he react to this absurd situation?
Elder Cao was left flabbergasted, he stood rooted to his spot.
---
"Why is he not leaving yet?" Rui Wei commented as she chomped down another piece of Tea Manju.
The Tea Manju was a popular sweet from the Capital.
She was supposed to be on a closed-door cultivation to tend her internal injuries. But here she was, continuously chomping down the small mountain of food beside her.
Before her closed door cultivation, she have given her word to Sona that she will be in a closed-door cultivation for more than 3 weeks.
Even if Rui Wei took half a year on her closed door cultivation it would have been completely normal as she is tending an injury she received from a clash with a cultivator several ranks above her!
But after the 5th day of her closed door cultivation, she have realized that her natural regeneration ability have increased several folds!
In only a week her injuries were already fully healed!! In fact, when she checked her body using her qi, she found out that her internal organs were toughened up, it was as if she has broken through a level.
Rui Wei clearly knew how serious her internal injuries were. Even Rui Wei herself was shocked at her recovery rate!
"Gah. This dude is really persistent!" Rui Wei stuffed another manju on her mouth.
'Should I knock him out real quick?' Rui Wei's patience was already running out, and so is the small mountain of food beside her.

The Cheng Inn received only small damages due to the raw materials used and the defensive barrier.
And now, the staff who was cleaning the debris saw the suspicious actions of Elder Cao.
Elder Cao has long known the arrival of the cleaner, so he only waved his hand and a Jade Seal flew out in front of the cleaner.
"H, Heavenly Palm Sect?!!!" The Cleaner's voice faltered as he immediately bowed down, not daring to look at Elder Cao's figure.
Elder Cao was too busy on coming up with a solution to get through the defensive mechanism that he almost did not bother with the cleaner.
The little cleaner peeked at Elder Cao's figure, debating whether he should leave or stay rooted on his spot.
Thinking about all the work he still has to do, the Little Cleaner brave himself and tried to leave.
"Who is staying in this room?" Elder Cao's suddenly asked.
The little cleaner's face suddenly turned ashen, as his face became devoid of blood.
'Senior, the Cheng Inn keeps that information as confidential!' Is what the little cleaner wanted to say, but how can he? The one asking him was a person from the Heavenly Palm Sect, ah!
What if they found his little existence as an annoyance and wipes out their Cheng Inn?! How should he deal with this?! The Seniors and the Manager did not mention anything about the Heavenly Palm Sects people!!
The little cleaner trembled as his back was soaked in sweats.
"I, its... It's a, a- aaaAaah!" A youth wearing a lotus blue robe appeared out of nowhere, tapping the little cleaner's shoulder. Almost scaring the little cleaner's soul away.
The little cleaner's knees went soft as he slumped on the floor, trembling.
"This humble one resides in that room, May I ask what business the Heavenly Palm Sect have with a Junior like me?" The youth smiled as he 'politely' asked Elder Cao.
Elder Cao's face could not hide it's shock.
'When did this youth arrive?!' Elder Cao's eyes flashed with a glint of admiration, he faked a cough to hide it.
*cough* *cough*
'As the one residing a room with such a strange defense mechanism, it should be normal for him to have a certain degree of ability....'
The youth suddenly threw a small object towards Elder Cao.
Elder Cao's face turned rigid as his Qi burst forward to catch the flying object towards him.
"This?" Elder Cao's face twitched as he looks at youth with a probing look. The thing that Elder Cao caught was a medicine.
"Ah, Senior that's a pill. The alchemist said that it can alleviate one's cough, I can guarantee it's effectiveness!" The youth's face was plastered with a kind smile, as if he was a kind and concerned neighbor giving out medicine for free.
Elder Cao barely managed to restrain himself, one slip of move and he might kill this youth!
Elder Cao took a deep breath before waving his hands and say:
"I'm Cao Yun Zuo, an elder of the Heavenly Palm Sect."
"This one is called Chu Yu, just a curious youth traveling here and there with his siblings." The youth answered casually while talking he also dragged the unconscious body of the little cleaner to the side.
"Hmmm.... A curious youth traveling with siblings, huh?" Elder Cao took a peek on the door behind him then back at the youth wearing a lotus blue coat.
"Well, if Senior is really interested ln this one's place then how could I not invite the respected Senior into this one's humble place?" The youth's face was plastered with a smile as he walked past Elder Cao, and made his way towards the door.
As the youth reached out to the door, Elder Cao's surrounding seemed to play in a slow motion, his whole attention focused on the youth's action.

Book 3 of the Universe Series This novel continues the adventure from the previous novel, Ocean of Dreams. Each novel is meant to stand alone. Widhbo ( pronounced "wee bow") is a MC who will be in each of the six novels in the main series. The starship Sora had been hurtling through space using its FTL propulsion system toward the Dezba star system for over a decade since leaving the planet Beldora of the Hellsaxe system. The Sora had crash landed on Beldora over a century earlier carrying a couple of aliens from another dimension. The ship came from the Borrugal Realm, a band world associated with what was known as the Tor Galaxy, what we call the Milky Way. Human life on Beldora was never the same. Under the influence of the alien known as Widhbo, Beldora was catapulted from the steam age to the space age. The majority of the scientific advances on Beldora were attributed to the leadership of a brilliant man, Jejliard Castonea, who was secretly manipulated by the alien, Widhbo. When rapid advances in technology inadvertently led to a nuclear war, Jejliard decided to evacuate his family, friends and co-workers on the Sora. The plan was to find a new habitable planet and rebuild civilization until they could safely return home. Much to his despair, Jejliard’s family and friends opted to stay on Beldora to ride out the war underground. Even the other alien, Gengor, stayed behind. Borrowing technology stored in the archives of the Sora, Widhbo managed to transfer the personalities of those staying on the planet into digital storage units known as magitons which could survive indefinitely in cold, sterile space. Living crew members who elected to stay on board the Sora were also uploaded to ensure immortality for everyone in case their life support systems failed en route. Widhbo sought to design a cyber paradise for everyone inside their virtual worlds, but things never go as planned where Widhbo is concerned.
