《A Fool fooling around in another world》Hajime's despair
Advertisement
The white aura around Hajime expands. His purple and black armour can't withstand this sheer amount of power and dissolves bit by bit.
He looks at his hand in an attempt of understanding this power flowing through him.
"I can feel it. This is... this is the power of friendship." (Hajime)
"Oh my God, I think I'm having a stroke." (Me)
HE DIDN'T JUST FUCKING SAY THAT, DID HE?!
Hajime turns his face over to me, his red eyes shining in a vibrant colour.
"Yu, you'll regret having hurt my friends. I won't let their sacrifices turn to waste." (Hajime)
"Wait a fucking second. Let me make this clear: You had the chance of winning this whole match, just by answering a few questions truthfully. Meanwhile you could've saved your companions from any harm at all. But you hesitated and now it's my fault, right?" (Me)
"Yes." (Hajime)
"Okay, now you're just being unreasonable." (Me)
I look at the angel-like silhouette behind him.
"Oi, angel." (Me)
The angel opens her eyes.
"What is it, human?" (Angel)
Her voice resounds in my ears like an echo inside a cave.
"You're from the heavenly army, right?" (Me)
The angel raises her eyebrow in wonder.
"Yes, I belong to the proud heaven faction. We have chosen this human called "Hajime Hiiro" as our champion for this world, which is why we help him now in his time of despair." (Angel)
"Nice, you already answered a few of my questions with that. I just have two left. First: You're only assisting him in this fight, right? You won't just step up and then I'll have to fight you, will you?" (Me)
"I've only been ordered to give him some of my strength, so no. I won't be fighting you directly." (Angel)
"Okay, last question: Me, fighting your champion seriously, means that I'm now seen as an enemy of the heavenly army, right?" (Me)
"You are an enemy to our champion, so yes, from now on you are also our enemy." (Angel)
I stretch out my thumb and point in downwards in a provoking manner with a smile on my face.
"Prepare to fucking die soon then. Your whole faction included of course." (Me)
The angel frowns a bit.
"I already heard that you are quiet the rude one. I won't let myself be provoked by a lower lifeform." (Angel)
I look at the shadow-boxing Hajime.
"Oi cunt, you said that you will avenge your friends, right?" (Me)
"I won't let their sacrifices go to waste." (Hajime)
"Yeah, you already said that, and slowly you sound like a fucking voice recorder. Anyways, I'm going to tell you something right now." (Me)

Hajime looks at me with a serious expression. His red eyes piercing through me like daggers.
My smile contorts into a grotesque one in anticipation of what I'm about to do.
"I will be the Goku to your Frieza." (Me)
He goes into a fighting position with only his fists as weapons.
"Sorry, I never watched Digimon." (Hajime)
OH MY GOD
"That's not... you don't even know... you just made me hate you more and I didn't even know that was possible." (Me)
"PREPARE YOURSELF!" (Hajime)
I see Hajime only take one step and immediately he's in front of me.
*Snap*
And I blink behind him.
I take two of my newly made knives and pierce his right and left foot with it.

"Argh!" (Hajime)
Hajime falls to his knees and I kick him down.
"What? Is this all your friendship is worth? That was fucking pathetic. You literally could only make one step before I fucked you over." (Me)
His already big white aura expands and starts to engulf me as well.
You are being purified!
You're losing 1% health per second!
I blink to a safe place where his aura doesn't reach me.
"Why is "being purified" doing damage to me?" (Me)
Cos you dirty as fuck
"The more vile a person is, the more damage this holy aura is doing to everyone in it's environment." (Angel)
"What's the most damage one can get?" (Me)
"About 2% per second." (Angel)
"Why do you even answer all of my questions?" (Me)
Hajime stands up, slowly but steadily, showing that he's too strong for the stun effect to affect him.

"This is but a scratch." (Hajime)
He stretches his open palm out in my direction.
'Wait... I know that gesture.'
Suddenly a huge light beam shoots out from it. I dodge it by clapping my hands and activating "Lightning step".
I run around the arena with full speed to build up momentum, but, right when I wanted to dropkick him, he disappears.
"'And he's above me." (Me)
I create a warphole above me, with the other end in front of me, without looking and see there, Hajime falls through it.
"HOW DID YOU KNOW?!" (Hajime)
"You should really get a bit creative with your given powers. I can show you an example!" (Me)
I create both sides of a warphole around his neck and slowly shrink it so it barely fits around his throat. I kick his body away and now his head and body are seperated.
"WH- WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?!" (Hajime)
I watch as his body incoherently searches for his head, running around like a beheaded chicken.
"This is just a little trick of mine." (Me)
I pick his head up and play with it around a bit, throwing it around or spinning it on top of my finger like basketball.
"Now then, I think you should calm down a little, or else you'll never get a grasp of your situation." (Me)
I put his head down on the ground and sit on it like a little stool.
"You see that up front? That's your body right there! Isn't it hilarious how much you're moving without a sense of direction?" (Me)
His body stops moving.
"Calm down, champion. I gave you the power to overcome this." (Angel)
"No, you fucking didn't. Stop interfering. This is way too amusing right now." (Me)
Hajime touches his throat with his whole palm and a bright light comes out of it again. And then my little stool disappeared.
"Aww man, you were so comfortable. Won't you change your profession from "Dense protagonist" to "Professional Seat" ,Hajime?" (Me)
"Stop making fun of me. TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!" (Hajime)
My kind smile vanishes and gets replaced by a stern frown.
"You want me to take this seriously?" (Me)
I let a quarter of my mana seep out into the environment and create artificial pressure with it on Hajime.
"I haven't been playing with you out of fun, Hajime." (Me)
I increase the pressure with full power gravity magic.
Hajime falls on his knees again.
"I've been fucking playing with you because I wanted to show you how much of a threat you are to me." (Me)
His confident expression from before turns into a face full of fear.
"I- I will avenge my-!" (Hajime)
I kick his face on the ground. Of course his white aura engulfs me once again, but I just use more mana to disperse it. At this point I'm already using half of my mana continuously just to keep him down. Pretty impressive if you consider that I'm probably the person with the most mana in this world right now.
"You will avenge your what?" (Me)
I kick down on his head again.
"TELL ME! YOU WILL AVENGE YOUR WHAT?!" (Me)
The white aura, his strongest, usable weapon at this point, gets even stronger but I use more mana to disperse it.
Hajime stays silent.
"What? You won't say anything AGAIN?! Yeah sure, already worked out for you once, didn't it? I mean, you didn't get any shit but your "friends" had to suffer for it. And then you even got a power up! YOUR LIFE JUST LAYS EVERYTHING OUT FOR YOU, DOESN'T IT?!" (Me)
"I... I don't..." (Hajime)
"Finally you feel what fucking despair feels like. How does it feel to be in a shitty position and not being able to do anything about it? And now imagine that feeling for 16 whole fucking years." (Me)
I hear Hajime grinding his teeth. He's probably trying his best to fight against the artificial mana pressure, but to no avail.
"Can't imagine it, eh? Probably comes from being a spoiled cunt for your whole life." (Me)
Haijme manages to turn his head a tiny bit. Enough to look at me with anger in his eyes from under my foot.
"How... why are you so strong now?! You weren't so strong when you fought the other teams!" (Hajime)
"Are you retarded?! I can play around with you like you're my little bitch, even though you're being backed up by a fucking celestial being right now. Why would I use even a bit of my real strength to fight those other fuckers?" (Me)
I feel Hajime's struggling weaken.
"Are you finally giving up you fucktard? But this isn't nearly fucking enough to satisfy me." (Me)
I open my palm and point it at Hajime's face.
"You pissed me off enough. Bye bye little Protagonist, and rest in fucking hell." (Me)
I charge all my remaining mana into one single ball of electricity, making it strong enough to char even my hand, even though it's my own spell.
"Bang!" (Me)
Suddenly, from the outskirts someone appears.
"Euh yeah... you should stop there..." (???)
"Fuck, what now again?" (Me)

I wrote this when I was 16/17 (which was many years ago now!) on a really old PC I called Phylis. I remember having to print it out on an old ribbon printer to submit it to publishers - this was back before esubs were the norm! It never got picked up and I ended up self publishing it. I hope you enjoy.
