Hi All,

In keeping with my spree of updates, I am sadly announcing that Once Human will be hit with the Indefinite Hiatus spree.

The reasons are the same as BOM (Time, energy, enjoyment). Unlike the Forgotten Hero, I would love to come back and finish OH, with a little re-write to fix some plot holes, and maybe even publish to an e-book but that would all be in the distant future.

Al enters an intense 1v1 with the Lizardman general, displaying his remarkable combat skills and regenerative abilities but even with that, he only barely wins, removing his opponents head in a desperate, last-ditch attempt.

As the lizardman army falls into chaos and the battle turns in the human's favour but then a portal abruptly appears near Al, sending a bolt of lightning that hits him in the chest and flings him across the battlefield before disappearing.

Al is brought back to his sense by the screaming Eve. A red gas, in the shame of a slimmer Al, is being dragged towards the portal by the strange lightning. Supprised that their plan to abduct the soul of their fallen god, the surviving lizardman rebels, quickly escape to the portal with Eve as Al drags his body, desperate to reunite with Eve yet the pain to his soul from their separation causes his consciousness to waver and, as soon as the portal closes, he roars before falling unconscious.

The humans, feeling they owe Al, return to their city with Al's body, the bone armour slowly falling away due to the damage sustained and they realise that he is human. Putting him in a temporary hospital while they deal with the aftermath of the battle, they are not aware that Al has woken up, and stealthily escapes the walled city.

Having a vague indication to the direction Eve is located, he walks through the hilly grassland while enduring agonising flashes of pain that originate from his soul. His goal to rescue Eve and slaughter all who harmed them.

Due to the server wounds, he has suffered, Al doesn't know that two figures, a female lizardman and its infant, are following him at a distance. (End of book one)
