Heya, it's me, the Wannabe Author. Not famous writer of unheard of novels such as The Immortal Empire, Overgod Chronicles, and The Returned. I've got a bad track record of not finishing what I write, but this one is different. I can feel it.

Tentacles regrown. More biomass to grow more tentacles. 30% increase. Wrap main body in tentacles. Leave audio perceptor uncovered.

Happy. Took 40% of mass to grow wings. Noticed.

While communicating, develop the brain. Takes 70% of current biomass. Must be good structure.
Processing speed is increased. Strange. Have urge to consume. And… procreate? Find another of same kind. Produce another. Very strange.
Tired. So tired.
Interferers communicating the entire time. Can’t pay attention. Too tired. But more biomass comes.
Eat. Eat eat.
Strange. Ate 200% increase in biomass from last feed, but still hungry. Must be brain.

Cannot pierce.
Skin is hard.

50% of main body is gone. Main body is crushed, flat, still on back somehow. 80% of tentacles are gone. Core is still functional. Brain is still functional.
Prey rolled, crushing main body under it. Angry.
Move tentacles, remove endurance muscle. Sharpen.

Vibrations in air, louder noise from prey. Distressed?
SATISFACTION!
Prey rolls. Learned, move to other side before crushed. Test with tentacles.
Underneath is not as hard.

Prey rolls to side, but is still.

PAIN.
Can feel this pain coursing through the main body now, traveling through the tentacles it hits.
New structure: Rigid armor, toughened skin, stomach, intestines.
Move. Move because more pain is coming if don’t.
Brain is strange. Helping to learn. Grow.
Quickly move to corner, wait for them to make home smaller.

However, after many a century of being together, and giving birth to their only child, she has come to suspect her husband of breaking the oldest laws set aside within the Universe. Tampering or re-writing a being's Story. Of which contains a being's everything; from birth to death, everything is written within their Story. Tampering with such books would not only mark the being, but cause the Librarians who take care of such items to fly into a rage and slay the perpetrator. However, with the Ageless being the fifth strongest being within the Universe, she doubts if she could find a Librarian strong enough to slay her husband for the crimes he has committed. How did she come to suspect him? Her own story contains many pages which were re-written, and the one who has access to it is both herself and her husband. Therefore, she searches for answers, and has been given the story titled The Devil King in order to find that which she desires. Even if the cost is to read the whole book before she could act fully.
