《Memories Of The Void [A Monster Evolution LitRPG]》Chapter 14. Sun

Alec noticed as the crimson mana whirled around them. The blue creature was softly screeching, as it veered it's massive frame across the frozen asile. It was cold, Alec felt it as the warmth itself seeped out of his tiny body.
"RUN AT THE COUNT OF FIVE!" Alec shouted, causing Jace to slightly shift his head.
"WHAT?" Jace shouted with an expression of bewilderment on his face.
"FIVE!" Alec shouted as the crimson chain reached the bloody wall.
"WHAT IN THE DOORS ARE YOU TRYING TO DO?''
"FOUR! KEEP SHOUTING!" Alec blustered as he activated the mana absorbtion and the chain started to disintegrate the frigid wall, turing it to a radiant vermillion mist.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
"THREE! YES, JUST LIKE THAT!"
Alec watched as the creature shifted it's head and the red blood mana around them dissipated before reforming around the crimson chain.
"IT'S GETTING LESS COLD! WHAT DID YOU DO?" Alec heard as Jace shouted over his lungs.
"TWO! GET READY!"
Just in the moment, the crimson chain shifted in the empty space, as it moved forward with a jerk and pierced directly through the frozen wall. A loud crack resonated through the hollow corridor, the frigid wall began to snap as Alec felt the blood mana condensing under his uvula, right over his tounge as he put twenty more points in his mind stat.
"HEY! I AM FEELING MORE WARM! DID YOU JUST PISS ON MY SHOULDER?"
"ONE! NOW! ONWARDS TO THE BLUE BOY!" Alec shouted as the blue centipede let out a loud creak, mana around him stirred in space as Jace sprinted towards the azure arthropod.
The centipede raised its head high like a serpent as a loud screech echoed though the frozen corridor. It shifted, as a sharp steam of crimson mist rushed past the mouth of blue creature and covered the entire area in a bloody somg.

"CRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
Jace scurried past the creature as it lunged towards the spot where the crimson chain dug inside the chaotic whirls of vermillion mist.
Alec quickly dismissed one of the chains. Before the image of azure creature faded in the bloody fog, he opened his mouth and the condensed ball of blood rushed past the sharp canines.
Blood Bullet
"CRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
"By the doors... " Jace groaned as turned his head from the mind numbing loud screeches that echoed through the frozen asile past them.
"IT'S NOT OVER YET! KEEP RUNNING!" Alec shouted as a sudden clacking noise came past the corridor and the chilling blood mana resonated around them.
"What the fuck is happening?" Jace yelled as he felt the cold wind surging around them and moved away from the spot.
Just in the moment, the obsidian stone floor cracked as a giant cerise stalagmite erupted from the place. The sharp frozen spear of blood tore through the air as it reached the high ceiling.
"JACE! KEEP RUNNING!"
"I AM TRYING TO! WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO WITH IT?" Jace shouted as he recovered from the sudden daze.
"Slowed it down." Alec said as he turned around and his eyes witnessed a sudden shift in the bloody mist.
Not good! not good! not good!
Alec watched in horror as the wounded centipede erupted from the mist. Unable to control the momentum of its large frame, it smashed against the obsidian wall like a wrecking ball, blasting it off as the pieces of debris swam across the black cat's vision. A small chunk of it's lower segments was blown off, revealing the torn organs inside as the sticky blue blood rushed down its azure armour.
"CRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
"What? How?"
"No time to explain! Take a left turn here, stick to the right wall AND DON'T SPEAK A WORD." Alec yelled as Jace reached the next corridor junction.

Without asking any question, Jace quickly scurried past the junction and clung to a wall.
The remaining crimson chain shifted in the empty space, as it moved towards the forward path and began clacking on the right side of the wall.
Jace, clearly confused by this whole process, struggled as he hold himself back from asking any further questions.
Silence descended, as the sudden screeches stopped and the blue creature vanished from the sight.
Alec quickly activated mana sight, already knowing that it possessed a camouflage skill.
The creature, now shrouded in a crimson barrier, slowly made it's approach towards the clacking sound. It shifted it's head, as it continued its slow crawl towards the assumed attacker.
Alec's emerald eyes widened in terror as the insides of the creature, wobbled in place as it healed itself. Regeneration? Bloody hell, how strong is this thing?
Blood bullet did not work as expected. It slowed it down but the damage was actually minimal. It went past the outer defenses but was blocked by internal ones. The explosion breached the internal defenses but they minimised the damage. Damn it!
It did not take much time, as the giant centipede crawled past Jace, it's armoured limbs moving silently just a few meters in front of them.
It paused for a moment as Alec dismissed the second chain, before finally continuing its mousy squirm.
Alec finally let out a sigh of relief as he plopped on Jace's shoulder, watching the last of the blue creature slowly vacating the hollow junction, as it approached a group of centipedes in the front asile.
''Rest in peace centi boys... Your sacrifice will not go to waste...'' Alec offered his sincere condolences as he watched the vermillion mana shifting in chaos around the crimson arthropods.
"What?" Jace finally opened his mouth.
"Nothing, we gotta move. Hurry up, pick up your lazy arse!" Alec said.
"Hey-'' Jace stopped as a loud crash echoed through the hallway.
"Why do I suddenly feel bad for taking advantage of blind creatures?"
"No, you don't." Jace said as he got on his feet, moving towards the now empty junction.
"Take a right turn.'' Alec said as they approached the junction.
Without asking any further question Jace rushed past empty corridor and kept following Alec's directions.
***
The trek back about the corridors was uneventful, through the spacious corridors were brimming with even more centipedes. But by using mystic, they quickly made their way through the crawling creatures of blood.
Alec's insides filled with glee as he watched a shallow reflection of light from the corner of his emerald eyes.
"Is that?" Jace asked as he paused for a moment.
"Yep!" Alec said as he jumped off the big man's shoulder, ran over the stairs before finally reaching a giant arched window in the castle wall.
Alec came to halt as a soft breeze washed over him. Standing by the window, he observed the small dust particles running rampant as the bright sunlight washed over his black fur.
Ah... He stood on his feet, raising both of his paws as he faced the rising sun in distant cloudless horizon.
