《(On Hold) Regarding my time being a God, it was fun》[Volume One] Prologue and Chapter 001

Volume One: Wait, what? F-RANK?
Prologue: Divine Lottery
「Ehh…Congratulations…I guess…you got the F-ranked prize…」
「……………please explain about the ranking again…」
My life as Kirihara Arata ended a bit too soon, but I didn’t feel regret.
Only because before death I managed to save two middle school kids.
They have a longer future ahead than a 35-year-old man working as a programmer.
So with me dying maybe they’ll have a better future for themselves…
Nah…those two were originally delinquents…they won’t get anywhere good…
…or not.
At least that was what the Goddess of Fortune told me.
She also said that because of this amusing unfortunate event, she’ll grant me another chance.
The Ultimate Lottery of Divinity – Wheel of Asmel.
「Sure…the ranks go from the lowest F to the highest S…and you just pulled the F-prize」
「…………………..can you not say it like that with an amused tone?」
Right.
I spun the wheel in hopes of getting another twist of fate.
Ended up at a misfortune again.
Sighhhh…
「Then…what’s the prize for this F-rank ball?」
「Lessee…You pulled the ball of Divinity so…you’ll become a God」
I don’t see how’s that an F-rank prize.
「…but it would be the lowest ranking God…」
I’m starting to sense another misfortune.
「…if a God got their Shrine’s Core Crystal destroyed, they’d be dead too…」
That’s bad, but I still don’t get the worst feeling.
Maybe I can struggle to live through this.
「I can’t refuse the prize right?」
「Yep! You accepted the Wheel, so you can’t refuse the prize!」
Well…there’s nothing I can do about it.
Being a God in my next life isn’t too bad either
You know, getting worshiped and all that stuff?
Being surrounded by beautiful Angels…
No no.
Stop the fantasies.
If it was that easy, it wouldn’t have been the lowest prize.
「Then before you go, let me explain a few things…」
To make it short:
I’ll be given one piece of land as my Sanctuary.
There will be a pre-made Shrine with an idol inside containing the Crystal Core.
She showed me how to operate the Menu, a semitransparent popup window.
Becoming an Arch God or Dark God is my choice, there’s no right or wrong.
I can even materialize and live like a mortal being.
In case of the previous thing, if I want to keep my powers, I’ll have to pay a price listed in the Menu.
Other things can be figured out when I official take the job.

There were also more rules on using my powers, but they’ll be all listed in the Menu.
A pretty decent job I’d say.
There’ll be ups and downs, but I think I can handle it.
「Now that we’re all clear, you ready to go?」
「Ehh? I have to go right away???」
「Then what do you want to do now?」
She tilted her head and looked at me with a question mark of her head.
Now that I look closely, she’s pretty damn beautiful.
As expected of a Goddess.
I wonder where did this stereotype of Goddesses being beautiful come from.
I really want to test out this myth, no I’ll absolutely do it when I become a God.
「Can I sleep with you before going?」
I said that with a straight face, and I absolutely meant it as a joke.
I thought she was beautiful and had my hot blood come up a little.
But I spat that out completely on a whim and didn’t mean to be serious.
Yet—
「Okay! Let’s go」
「NO WAIT!」
—she teleported us into a dark room.
When I came to my senses I was already stark naked.
The Goddess has settled herself sitting on my hip before long.
Do you think a mere human soul with many years of sitting in one place doing programming…
Would even have the strength to resist a Goddess?
She was so goddamn strong I couldn’t even move freely.
If we had an arm-wrestling session instead of this, it would end up in my arm got torn off.
A beautiful woman with godly strength is just as scary as anything you can imagine…
So like that…before starting a new life as a God.
I was raped.

Chapter 001 - Sanctuary
「Haaaaa………」
The deepest, longest sigh I’ve ever done in my life.
Right now I’m sitting in mid air looking down to my “sanctuary”.
The land was a circle area of plain in the middle of a sea of trees.
The diameter of this circle is only about 200 meters.
In the middle, there’s a small house made from wood.
Inside that house is a set of offering table with an idol.
In other words, that’s my shrine.
I said I didn’t get the worst feeling…
I get it now…
This defenseless tiny house is in the middle of a vast forest.
What if monsters or wild beasts come?

I’ll be a very dead God.
At least I won’t die a virgin anymore…
Sighhh…
Speaking of that, I still can’t seem to judge being raped by that Goddess good or bad luck…
It’s bad for my pride as a man who likes to take the lead…
But it was probably a blessing for the virgin me.
「Died saving two good-for-nothing delinquents…raped by a woman…now on the very verge of death again…haaaaaaaaa…………..」
Another gigantic sigh…
What seed of calamity have I planted to receive this kind of treatment from the God of Fortune.
And ironically that person was the scary woman who took my virginity forcefully!!
I’m repeating myself too much.
Let’s stop with the whining, I need to think about my life now.
Calling up the Menu, I saw a few options.
[Sanctuary]
[Guardians]
[Settings]
I used my finger to click on [Sanctuary].
The state of the land and HP of my Shrine were in there.
Then I saw something extremely useful.
[LV.1 Holy Barrier]
Prevents monsters from coming, purifies low-class monsters.
Cost: 100 Points
Alright, the minimum of self-defense has been guaranteed.
Now, how many points do I have?
Usually in games that I participated programming, there would be 2 or 3 thousand points as a simple headstart.
[Points: 0]
…
…
「I DEMAND FOUNDER’S PACK!!!」
I jerked my head up to the sky and screamed.
By the way, I’m invisible right now.
Though I can see myself, nobody can see me floating in the air, nor can they hear my voice.
I learned that much from reading the Menu.
But jeez…at least let me pre-order so I can get the headstart…
I guess this is just about right for the lowest prize.
Now I finally understand why she told me about the Crystal Core so early.
Without a single point, I had no option left.
The only I could do was to sit there and read the instruction in my Menu.
Turns out I’ll be given 10 points everyday.
And for every person passed by that stopped and offered a prayer, I’ll get points depends on their faith.
In case of monsters or any living thing dying within my domain, depends on the situation, I’ll be rewarded with points.
If many ferocious monsters die on my land, I’ll become more Holy and get tons of points.
If many innocent people die on my land, I’ll get a bunch of Negative Points and become a Dark God.
There are also a lot of exceptions and situations involved, but that was the main idea.
Right now, I am only the rank of a Nature Spirit.
Depends on what happens on my land, I’ll become different kinds of Gods.
And then, if there’s a city here and people start worshiping me, the daily points will increase drastically.
「I look like some kind of dungeon master…」
Really though…
Without any points, how the hell can I protect this place?
I’m immortal, I can’t touch beings belong to this dimension.
Otherwise I would’ve gone into the forest and try to kill monsters…
But if they don’t die on my lands the points won’t be much…
Sighhh…
I switched to [Guardians].
「EH? T-THIS IS!!!」
[Note: The first one Guardian you summon will be free. Choose wisely!]
That line was lying solid in the Menu.
I was wrapped in excitement at that one line of words.
It literally mean I can even choose a freaking dragon to protect myself.
I was just about to click on the [Summon] button right next to the icon of a dragon when I suddenly snapped back to my senses.
It wasn’t a wise choice to choose a dragon at all.
Dragons need food, unless you raised them to the point of evolving into a higher classification of dragons.
Otherwise they’ll die soon.
Nothing would guarantee that something, if anything at all, will come into your land for the dragon to kill during its lifetime.
In case of letting it go out and hunt, who will protect this place?
Moreover, a dragon will absolutely attract attention.
People who come and try to slay the dragon will most likely break the shrine during the battle.
Getting caught up in the middle of that would be disastrous…
So what would be a better choice?
Magical beings that don’t need food at all and still absurdly strong.
Of course there wasn’t anything that convenient.
But the best option I saw was an [Iron Golem].
Since iron is an element belongs to nature, the golem itself only needs to absorb energy from nature to live.
With this, the guardian would last forever if nothing goes wrong.
In the future I’ll always save at least 100 points in case of emergency.
Hopefully the barrier does its work when the need comes.
So I clicked [Summon] on the Menu.
A magic circle appeared on the ground in front of my shrine.
Lights gathered and took shape.
A black golem appeared.
It was more than 2 meters tall and looked very intimidating.
「OK. I ran out of option again…I guess that’s it for today…」

8 959The Cosmic Interloper
Synopsis: A cyborg transhuman escapes her corporate indenture and through unfathomably unlikely circumstances, she ends up in a fantasy world of full of unique magic, angry people with sharp implements, and the whole flavor-spectrum of divine entities. Hilarity ensues. Features: - No blue boxes or cultivation, this is not a LitRPG nor about martial arts - Hard-ish Sci-Fi meets hard-ish magic - Generally trying to keep this "rational" Rationale: My primary goal with The Cosmic Interloper is to write something that I myself would enjoy reading. Of course, that’s not the only motivation, but I think it’s the most important one for me to keep in mind, especially as the author. In fact, this whole story came about because after consuming oodles of fiction, I found myself craving a very specific type of story which I couldn’t find many examples of. Then I asked myself, “why not write it myself?” and here we are. Disclaimer: In general, while I’m not writing a comedy, I do intend for this story to be funny and a bit wacky or absurd. That said though, I am using this story as a vehicle to explore some potentially dark topics including (but not limited to) slavery, speciesism/racism, and existential questions of self, consciousness, and identity. Still, I’m going to leave the “traumatizing content” tags off, because I don’t feel that what I’ve written so far (or plan on writing) exceeds the threshold that would be necessary for me to tag it thusly. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way she views the world is not the objective truth (if such a thing even exists).
